ggrewe Posted Friday at 04:17 PM Posted Friday at 04:17 PM From the latest newsletter, I see there will be an Assets pack with Phase 3. I'm assuming this will be part of the full purchase price map & not a separate purchase like the WWII Assets pack? Can we also get a provisional list of assets, or is it too soon? I've seen T-34/85 & the Russian LCAC's, hopefully they are part of the pack? Thanks 1

Will there be RSBN beacons on the maps? - Yes, East German airbases are already equipped with RSBN beacons. RSBNs aren't working in the MiG-21. Another user implied that this is because the 21 isn't part of the DCS core modules. The 21 can use RSBN in all other maps though AFAIK. Are there plans to correct this? Making Cold War scenarios without the 21 would be unrealistic. Without nav aids IMC and night would be quite problematic. Also, a way to input ARK (NDB) using the Russian system of Sector, Number, Channel would be much appreciated.
Tarres Posted Friday at 08:27 PM Posted Friday at 08:27 PM The 21 uses rsbn that only works with the 21, same with the ndb. IRL only 9 presets with outer/inner selection via sector/number are available. Something like Yak-52’s ark-15 and the future 29 FF. The file affected for the 21 is in the 21 directory and doesn’t use the standard beacons.lua that is coded as a definition in every map.
Sryan Posted Friday at 11:32 PM Posted Friday at 11:32 PM This looks great! I would have loved the inclusion of NATO AFB Geilenkirchen (E-3A base), EHBK and Leeuwarden (EHLW). 3 Check my F-15C guide

Rex Posted Sunday at 06:20 AM Posted Sunday at 06:20 AM This map is already a contender for "Best Map of All Time", IMHO. It's just fantastic! There are so many air bases, if the one you want isn't modeled, use a another base as a stand-in. I mean, they have to release it at some point and 120 bases is really a lot. I think the Fulda Gap focus probably provides for the highest number of air+ground scenarios. Oh one minor thing, Ctl+F12 isn't taking me to my train. I'm sure it was a minor consideration and rightfully so, just throwing it out there as an FYI. 7 Rex's Rig Intel i9-14900K | Nvidia RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5 | 3x4TB 990 Pro M2 SSDs | HP Reverb 2 | 49" Samsung 5120x1440 @ 120Mhz TM Warthog Stick + Throttle | TM Pendulum Pedals | MS Sidewinder 2 FFB | Track IR | Cougar MFD x 2

Bremspropeller Posted Monday at 04:06 PM Posted Monday at 04:06 PM (edited) @MAESTR0 I just scrolled through the Phase 2 and Phase 3 airfield list again and I found that in the Phase 2 dropdown, Obermehler-Schlotheim Airfield is already featured in Phase 1. Similarily, in the Phase 3 dropdown, Holzdorf Air Base is also already in Phase 1. I'd gladly exchange those two with an extended scope including Strasbourg-Entzheim and Colmar-Meyenheim in Phase 3 They're already there: Strasbourg: Spoiler Colmar (just west of Bremgarten) is the dark green outlines: Spoiler http://www.france-air-nato.net/CONTENU/COLMAR/Images/Colmar_PAV.jpg Edited Monday at 04:14 PM by Bremspropeller 2 So ein Feuerball, JUNGE!

I agree to some extent, but then again, they draw lines on a map and call them Phase 1-3 and then they just ommit Luftwaffe Airbases that are within the boundaries of at least Phase 3. Scratching Wittmund, Jever and Oldenburg from the list simply erases 3 Fighter or FighterBomber Wings of the Luftwaffe from the map. One of which is an F-4 Wing. Yes...I am biased, but I still find it odd, since the F-4 is a very much alive module in DCS. The other 2 bases being a Tornado and a Fiat G91 /Alphajet base. If you now add the Luftwaffe bases that are further north that are scratched off as well even though they are within the drawn boundaries, that makes it a bit of a bummer to some of us. Sure, it´s still playable and enjoyable... Edited Tuesday at 07:03 PM by Phantom711 3 vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. Join the vCVW-17 Discord.
