You guys are cracking me up. Makes me glad I have an understanding woman to share my life with. Yes, I know for a fact that if I tell her I need a HOTAS she'd be fine as long as she knows it's only 60 USD and comes with a rebate of 30 bucks.

I did have the problem initially getting the Cougar with my (soon-to-be) ex-wife, but she knows I was developing the Typhoon for the RAF and I needed it as that's what they will use (worked like a charm lol)

 

By the way, don't do the flowers thing thinking that will work before you tell her about the Warthog, that will seriously backfire (2 ex-wives and ex-girlfriend knowledge here lol)

 

Not entirely on topic but as I feel I've missed out by not having TrackIR I just ordered a TrackIR 5 + pro clip - when she was out of the room of course.

Now I'm just hoping that when it arrives she'll assume that such a small thing is a lot cheaper than it actually is :music_whistling:

TrackIR is a total game changer, you'll love it!

 

Especially with the A-10 pit, how have you managed without?

Thinking back on how I fly, which is quite possibly as wrong as you can possibly fly, I rarely use rudder and when I do I end up "snapping back" anyway and missing whatever I was trying to do. Though, come to think of it I use it for Nose Wheel Steering... ack.

 

I totally agree with you on that. Until my TM gets here, I'm still on logitech extreme wore totally out 3D. I can just look at it and the rudder puts in an erroneous command. As for nosewheel steering, I can deal with the little control at the base of the stick for that.

On the other hand, by my age, and also after years of drunken sex in college, I dont care about sex. It's more a matter of staying off her sh*t list. Her sh*t list BTW often includes mention of the tools of her trade, not excluding her sig sauer.

The key is to offer housework, do your chores, help out as much as possible and there is a very high chance of a) "cuddles" and b) undisturbed flight sim time.

 

Either that or get up super early before she does and play play play until 9am, then make breakfast for her and coffee so she doesn't have to do anything. She will pave the golden path to your computer and bring you lunch/chocolate milk/milk shakes/beer/meat whatever. ;)

You want cuddles after midnight when you've been upto some serious simming, then best preplan by nodding in agreement and saying a few more words than 'Mmmm' when she speaks at meal times.
