F-15C AFM probably

BAE Hawk maybe

Fw-190 doubt it

EDGE no

NTTR no

UH-1H sling load who knows

CA 1.5 doubt it

Oculus rift no

MiG-21 (They could add the AI model prior to module completion like the Belsimtek did) depends

Other bug fixes and bug problems

 

Ok. How about Su-27 AFM? Will it be in 1.2.8?

Seriously? ED hasn't even given a small hint about the next update, let alone the 1.2.8 update, so no one has a clue about how long it will take, and therefore, not an even half reasonable idea about what may perhaps be in it.

That won't stop people having hopes and making guesses though. 1.2.7 was a great update but the next ones leading up to EDGE integration are so highly anticipated that everyone is chomping through the bit not just at it.

Question for ED or people who are involved in EDGE development.

 

Is the new engine going to be able to render more/better than the planar mapping for the viewport?

So that on wider FOVs the stretching is compensated for?

Something like cylindrical or better spherical mapping or even lens grid calculation so people with multi monitor setups or other people who like a wide FOV don't have this ugly distortion that misleads scale/distance?

I'm pretty sure if you setup screens/viewports correctly this doesnt happen.

 

Using Eyefinity you have the issue, but when I run 3 separate viewports (left, center, right), each one has it's own FoV.

Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2),

ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9)

3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs

You can also change the FOV Line in the graphics.lua.

Yeah obviously but you don't change the lua to zoom during flight.

Anyways, I think we're talking about different things here.

Let's get back to the original question:

 

Is EDGE be able to provide an alternative to the planar mapping of a single viewport camera?

That is from the Wargame: European Escalation & Wargame: Air Land Battle people. Their stuff is very well done.

 

EDIT: Note, that I am not comparing it in any way to DCS. As an RTS though, it is pretty sweet even though I suck.

You can already have battles like that. Just use the mission editor. Ships would never get that close together in real combat, but nothing is stopping you from putting them like that anyway.

Nice images. What I really notice in that picture is the edge of the atmosphere. A lot better than what we currently have.

You can already have battles like that. Just use the mission editor. Ships would never get that close together in real combat, but nothing is stopping you from putting them like that anyway.

 

 

When you try and play any battle that big, the game lags severely, and sometimes crashes

DCS: F-4E really needs to be a thing!!!!!!
