Flying Bull Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 I voted "other": My wish is for MH-6/AH-6 model.
SirEarl Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 The longbow and super cobra would make for interesting gameplay. Longbow has a radar on top which requires you to hide behind trees in case of AA, whereas the supercobra carries IR missiles which can make it an escort for helis.
McBlemmen Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 I'll take any 2 seat , turreted gun-using helo that can reliably destroy armor. Wich is most likely going to be BSTs cobra

Which would require EDGE that hopefully adds trees blocking the AI's LOS and don't let missiles pass through woods for starters... If the trees are collidable i'm sure missiles wont be able to fly trough them , but i wouldnt be too sure about the line of sight. I have not seen one post or mention about changing the AI's godmode view from any dev
shagrat Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 There is always hope! ;) I've already seen advanced scripts that check direction, distance and LOS for MANPads/ SAMs to their targets setting ROEs to simulate "normal" Mk I eyeballs, yet they cost computing ressource if used for each and every unit... I really hope AI gets a thorough overhaul with DCS 2.0 or short after. sleepycanuck Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Future project: Boeing CH-47 Chinook Hey Belsimtek, Just in case this has not been mentioned before, I felt I had to put forth my two cents and desire to fly this famous and iconic heavy lifter. I realize that multi-crew aircraft are not yet available in the DCS world but is a future feature so please consider developing the Chinook for us rotor heads to fly when the time is right. I can imagine, in addition to learning how to fly this beautiful beast, missions that involve troop insertions, cargo drops and SAR ops! The future is bright and hopefully a CH-47 will be in it. The_Pharoah Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 In the meantime, give the Huron a go in ARMA 3. Its basically a CH47 reskinned/renamed with retractable undercarriage. Atleast in that game you can actually do proper helicopter support ops (eg. troop transport, sling loading vehicles to the AO, etc). Whilst its not DCS-quality, its the one game where the helicopter is ACTUALLY used for something other than flying around and firing at practice targets. You must be playing the wrong DCS missions... we fly our own CASEVAC / Troop transport mission in MP for over a year now, and it still gets better and better, adding Sling load ammo supply for an FOB recently... RagnarDa's MEEDEVAC script is a good startimg point. A lot of Missions from the Huey's UN campaign or the Mi8 campaign not even requiring a single shot fired and there are other user made missions that give you nice insertion/extraction scenarios... Random Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 We have something very similar Shagrat... with jets providing CAS too... great fun having an Mi8 mark targets with smoke for a mig to then deliver ordnance... Then Mi8's or hueys sweeping in to deploy troops and capture the objective ;)
The_Pharoah Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 nah mate - when it comes to choppers, I fly in ARMA 3 exclusively. I'm not a big fan of the basic infantry combat in DCSW. hannibal Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 i am just happy that the AH-1 and Mi-24 is VERY POSSIBLE in the near future. AH-64 would be nice, but i understand that systems are still classified. find me on steam! username: Hannibal_A101A http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197969447179
King_Hrothgar Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I am very pleased we will get both the AH-1 and Mi-24, both very iconic choppers. With those now in the works, the AH-64A would be next on my wishlist.
