PiedDroit
Clickable pits are a good idea in VR, but I'm referring to, and personally prefer the tactile feedback of Hotas systems switches, dials, levers, etc, and never use clickable cockpits. Maybe someday if a VR glove gave tactile feedback, but I'm not so sure that will be properly done anytime soon. I also like the fact I don't have to memorize all the different aircraft cockpit switch etc positions. Hehe, that's the exact opposite for me, I prefer to put basic functions on the HOTAS and use the systems in cockpit, it's funny how people can have a completely different view on thing ;) In the end, it's better to have some kind of good tactile feedback, be it the mouse (for clickable pits), the HOTAS or any home made pit. Exactly, also when I need to type jtac coord or other tasks in a10c I can see keyboard just fine through the slits Yeah, cameras are neat but maybe the best system will be simple openings in the lower field of view :D
dot
Hi all, Seeing keyboard technically should not be an issue (try ) My dream setup for oculus DK2 would definitely have to include Logitech G940 (because it has FF) and something like this :D

dot
I'm not seeing passthrough a camera, hopefully there will be add-ons. Not sure what's the sliding button on the bottom of HMD is for, maybe lens adjustment? Main thing for me is the resolution, hoping for 4k, but we might have to wait 2nd or 3rd release... Chivas
Hopefully the Vive and/or Oculus will have an IPD adjustment or a very wide range of usable IPD's, otherwise I will have to pass until later versions. The next few weeks should be very interesting. I would imagine that DCS is one of the developers who've been given one of the Crescent Bay prototypes, so I'm also looking forward to EDGE and DCS VR optimizations. blksolo
My thoughts for which item I will purchase are which one has the highest resolution and which one will have DCS support out of the box.If it turns out they are equal and both have DCS support then I will get the Vive, why wait 4 or 5 extra months if I dont have to. If it turns out the Oculus has better features down the road then I will sell the Vive and get the Rift. Either way this is a great time for flight sim fans!! Fri13
Ok what's the per eye then? Never mind that resolution is split between two eyes so it's still not enough resolution. Bummer. At least it will be better than dk2 1080x1200 @ 90Hz is then the final per eye. More than enough. But for their game it is same as 2160x1200 as it needs double rendering as that is the field of view area. i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
