I wonder if it would be a problem (complications with previous publisher) for ED or 3rd parties to make more AC that are equal in quality and fidelity as those in FC? If it's not a problem, wouldn't it take far less development time to crank out some low-fidelity modules? Maybe a F-18 at the same fidelity level as the F-15 perhaps?

I think you're pretty much the only person on these forums that would be interested in that...

One could ask "What's average about a fighter pilot?" Maybe it would be more accurate in saying that the blackout handling is seemingly modeled toward the in-game pilot being an average person that happens to be pilot, which happens to be flying fighter jet, for some strange reason. Possibly without the aid of a G-Suit...! Is the in-game pilot modeled as not even trying?

Bahahah..., i can't stop laughing! You pointed the clues even better than me or anyone else here!:megalol: Still, we could only pray that ED will finally train their utterly average, so called "pilots" within the game..., because i can't call it a sim yet!:book:

GGTharos..., sorry mate, but it's not the customer's job to find a STOHL chart, which i don't even know what it means..., and i've wasted my time enough already on trying to give you all the minimal needed information in order to make a blackout start developing not quicker than 10 seconds for a fighter pilot, not some average pilot(whatever you mean with that)..., what could be much easier than that? Do you say you can't do that because you don't have a STOHL chart, and for that reason the "sim" will continue to remain just a game because of it?

So this leads to nowhere then..., it's only a matter of wanting to make things better, but it seems we have a lack for that!:pilotfly:

Mistakes, obviously, show us what needs improving. Without mistakes, how would we know what we had to work on!

Actually yes, it is. If you want something modeled realistically, provide the proof for it. You've provided nothing.

which i don't even know what it means...,

Then you have absolutely nothing to go on :)

Ok, let's have a look at selected samples on YouTube:

* Here's a USAF F-16 Major who does passes at 7G, then 8G then passes out

* Young fit pilot does G-Loc after a few seconds at 9G:

* This exceptional female does 15secs at 9G:

So, I think it is fair to say that G-Loc happens fairly quickly for these people and after a much shorter time that than what happens in LockOn FC2. For the way most of us fly in-game, at high speed and do instantaneous pulls to 9G (rather than gradually increasing the loading as they try to do in real-life), it is suprising that the game does not simulated the onset of G-Loc earlier (although the recovery time in-game can be quite long; these guys recover quite quickly; although there are cases where it can take a long time such as Israeli astronaut Ilon Ramon's son Assaf Ramon who died from maneuvering an F-16A in 2009 http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/8253465.stm ).

I think GGTharos has a better appreciation of G-Loc than perhaps you do, Maverick22. He does get to talk to a fair number of real USAF fighter pilots. The YouTube videos back up the FC2 experience; if anything, onset should be earlier and recovery could be earlier - but it is not too unrealistic at the moment (especially as it models cumulative fatigue from earlier maneuvering). This is one thing that makes modern fighter combat so hard.

MaverickF22, if you say that something is wrong, it is good if you are able to back it up. That's the point with the STOHL chart request. Consider a different example - if you were to say that plane X should be able to pull Y amount of G, you'd be asked to show why you think so; with the relevant charts as the obvious resource together with a demonstration that the relevant behaviour is not present in the simulator.

This isn't anything extraordinary, just the simple fact that if you say something is wrong - no matter what context - it is good to be able to show it. Or do you feel GGTharos should simply take your word for it, you being a non-fighter pilot with Youtube as evidence? You don't get the simulator to be less of a game through following Youtube evidence, you get it through following actual research and statistics: like the STOHL charts. ;)

Both GG and Eagle Dynamics have more initiated resources, including both pilots and relevant documentation. That's weighs heavier than Youtube. :)

So, I think it is fair to say that G-Loc happens fairly quickly for these people and after a much shorter time that than what happens in LockOn FC2.

Is it not likely that a centrifuge will cause G lock faster than an actual high G maneuver in a jet? I recall a guy on the rather brilliant series jet stream who couldn't pass the centrifuge at all, he'd black out every time yet he had no trouble at all in the F-18. It could be something along the lines of why the driver of a car doesn't get sick, they know exactly what is about to happen as they are in control and inputting all movements.

At any rate roll on FC3, this will be my first venture into the lock on series since the original! Had to give in after wags little snippet on youtube.... speed!!!
