Rangi Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 bad shots This photo of the Aussie Army Iroquois gunships reminds me of an exercise i was once on when in the army. I was detached to an infantry company (I was in Signals) that was sent into a National park to help cull wild goats. Our mission was to check/clear the area of civilians and locate the herd of goats. Once we had found a large herd (100+) and transmitted their location the gunships were called in to take out as many as possible. Over they flew spitting thousands of rounds from the mini-guns with an awesome roar. We then went in to do some BDA and... not a single goat was harmed, this was a large herd and quite densely grouped together when we spotted them. There was a lot of churned up dirt and splintered trees but not a single goat so much as scratched. The grunts then proceeded to take some out with rifles but most of the herd got away. I always thought of them as very expensive goat scarers after that. PC: 6600K @ 4.5 GHz, 12GB RAM, GTX 970, 32" 2K monitor.

jay43 Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 This is looking good and can't wait for it i really hope we can do simulated troop drop offs via follow the leader into the LZ or hot LZ skids touch down a few seconds then back up return to base for another run. Would be even better with simulated gunfire tings a wizzes of bullets cliping the huey. Eagles may soar high but weasel's don't get sucked into jet engines. System Spec. Grim_Smiles Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 I know this is the UH-1N twin Huey on the bottom, but I'd love for someone to make a grey Marine skin for the UH-1H Huey if it isn't in DCS. I didn't see it shown in the screenshots someone had posted on Huey skins in one of the other threads, so I'm assuming it's not already in. Grim_Smiles Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Ah thanks! Looks a little darker than I expected, but glad to see it's in there. Ham Sandwich Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Yeah, it seems to have a blueish hue to it as well. Yeah, i think there's half a dozen US liveries, and then liveries for pretty much every other country. I think they appeared with 1.2.3, but i'm not 100% sure.
Furia Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 You can see a Marine livery on this video during the last seconds. [sIGPIC]http://menorca.infotelecom.es/~raulurbina/ESA/banner_furia.png[/sIGPIC]
doright Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 (edited) You can see a Marine livery on this video during the last seconds. Very nice video. Thanks. Just like this video: Whole time I'm watching that I'm thinking. Wave off, wave off. Not because it's too dangerous, but because you'll be stuck on that heaving, rolling, vomit inducing ship.
