Ali Fish Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 not a flawed idea ! for me its the concievable concept of bringing us a decent arena for the 51 initially. and allowing it to grow whilst pleasing a heck of a lot of people and furthering the sales of the 51 explicitly. a Smart move. Wooow hang on guys let me elaborate what I meant! By a Flaming Cliffs ww2 sim I only meant that we can get a lot of ww2 aircraft of all types quickly and ground vehicles. Then from then on cockpits could be created with the fidelity of the P-51 etc... Of course I would love to have every aircraft with the CEM of the P-51 but that would take ages, this way they would get a nice income and those that want to purchase a good CEM for there aircraft can over time. Perhaps its a flawed idea, but hey they already do it with flaming cliffs don't they? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Ali Fish Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 (edited) hope you don't have to rework your skins. Doh! you might have just jinxed it all lol. but well you are absolutely spot on regards that.. but in my confusion i see some good aspects to the changes.....i think. it doesn`t shine "properly" like before. and thats not too good. refelections seems goofed too. edit: nividia control panel settings were "awry" it seems. and well im quite fond of these changes. but there is somthing wrong still. I like the line of thinking but maybe not flyable aircraft. Think big picture. We would all love 100% realism (aside from actual bullet wounds) but we also know this takes time. I personally would be happy to hand over my hard earned cash to ED for a WW2 era enemy combat module of some sort. Simulated enemy aircraft from the 40's era to keep us busy while the ultra-realistic renditions are in development. I think we can all agree the P-51D multiplayer world is in its infancy and this would be a near term solution for an immersive environment so all of the budding P-51 pilots out there can catch the bug and hone their skills. (Think bomber escort, fighter sweep and airfield scrambles against believable adversaries) Also with the community of aircraft skin painters already showing their impressive skills maybe this would be an avenue to knock out the many inevitable paint schemes needed for those enemy aircraft we so desperately want to face. :D I can picture it so easily... Ali Fish Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 (edited) ww2 arena. with non flyables. open to FC level or DCS level additions. all open to 3rd party development, same as the rest. its so simple. Edited January 23, 2013 by Ali Fish [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
LcSummers Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 hey hey Carlo! good to see that you heard the news as well.cant wait to build our 6./JG26 with DCS crates! Flex purchased the P51 as well already waiting for the 190. ...so in the meantime we could use our time with flying the Mustang and study the enemy until the real thing arrives :) Hi David, this would be cool. Hopefully it will be a late D-9 or D-11/13. All good news i hear well, so hope to get that beast as quickly as possible. See ya:pilotfly:

Pyroflash Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Also, I don't get this talk about ED never developing higher fidelity versions of their sims. I mean, it isn't JUST the A-10C that was updated, we are also getting a new F-15C, and if memory serves me correctly, I am 100% sure that this aircraft was also in FC3. And not to mention that we are ALSO getting an Su-27SM, of which the Su-27S was in FC3 as well. There isn't any release date on these quite yet though, so you would be right in assuming that these will probably take quite a bit of time to get to us. If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.

As I said earlier: unless I missed an announcement, there has been no indication that the in-development F-15C and Su-27 will be full-sim Eagle Dynamics aircraft. If third-party, they may be less than maximum fidelity, with simplified systems.

blkspade Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 This statement seems to lack a bit of logic. The F-15C in its current state is only missing AFM and a clickable cockpit to be at DCS level. So with it announced that there is a DCS module in the works, it would be pointless to release a standalone version that is just like the one in FC3. nick10 Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 I guess we need to start learning some german to understand all the gauges and control panels?;)
9.JG27 DavidRed Posted January 29, 2013 Author Posted January 29, 2013 well just like me, there are many german speaking guys here around, who are very likely willing to help and translate things if necessary once the bird gets delivered...
Maximus_G Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 FW-190 A5 or A8 is not an adequate opponent for the D-Mustang. Would be cool to cross swords with Thunderbolt, resembling fights that took place in 1943-44.
