Ah, roger. Worried I sounded like a babbling idiot. I hate doing live interviews.

You did fine. Thanks for doing it, regardless what we said about the platform.

Matt,

Did they find out about DCS through someone or something and approach you for an interview or did you approach them? You might think you were babbling but I think we all agree that you handled yourself well. I hope that there are some in the community that have connections that can help promote this wonderful product and Matt I hope you are open for more interviews down the road. Maybe a setup at some of the airshows in the US with a few PC's demonstrating?? Maybe you have taken this approach already?

No worries Matt. The interview as a whole was really great, and it provided a very detailed introduction to DCS for people who have never heard of it before. Here's to bringing on more users to DCS. :)

Does anyone have a link to a podcast version? I would have loved to listen, but sadly I was otherwise occupied.

Apparently the site has archives but I don't know how soon they post the shows.

At some point it appears they will post the audio file here:

As for those complaining about doing such an interview, we will do all we can to market DCS World short of using a Neo Nazi site or Fox News ;)

What happened on the chat?

It was all about colon cleaning, russian in cage, about new announcements and crazy moderator. He was silly.

I was wishing that you dont read the chat because you couldnt finish the interview because of laughing.

I'd prefer a clear post for everybody to read with the actual status of DCS and a vague roadmap for the next years. That would give all of us a better perspective.

The thing with not saying anything and throwing oil on burning rumors raises hopes and demands more than anybody can ever fulfull.

Matt,You did a fantastic job of explaining what DCS is and the module add-on system,I believe the Host of the show"Tony"is very impressed with DCS and everything you and the team are doing here.Hopefully we won over some new friends as well.

I was however disappointed to not hear anything about Edge/Nevada/New Terrain,It's been a very long time without any news.

here ya go.

A few items to reiterate:

1- Much of the Nevada map is done, but aspects of it could certainly change between now and release.

2- The original effort was done by a third party, but for various reasons, that effort did not work out and the Eagle team basically had to re-start it from scratch.

3- Due to the massive number of ground objects, elevation mesh detail, and texture sizes, a new image generator (IG) had to to be created in order to run it at more than single digit frame rates. Creating a new IG is a huge undertaking and it takes a lot of time. More so than anything else, this has been the reason behind the delay.

4- There has been no change in our plan to make this map available for free to those that purchased the A-10C beta.

5- Given the nature of the map, I would imagine that most missions will revolve around training, but certainly large Red Flag type campaigns are also possible.

6- We have no ETA at this time.

When there is a change to any of the above, there will be official news of it.

But then people would be forced to spend time with their partners instead of constantly hitting refresh looking for new information on the forum.

This would lead to an exponential increase in the number of divorces and separations as frustrated simmers vented on their family instead of other forum users.

Keyboard manufacturers would see sales plumet as forum members stopped replacing keyboards with broken F5 keys, leading to job layoffs and a collapse of the global economy.

What you are suggesting would bring about the end of the Family and the Civilised world as we know it !!!

Cheers.
