Ok, 2013 has fall to end and nothing news of IRIS. The "last news", a youtube video 4 months ago show a F-22 cockpit, a BD-5J video 7 month ago and last news T-38C talon on IRIS facebook on august (now disapear), but nothing new compare other previous IRIS team news. I have very bad felling about this, but, continue waiting some type of official explanation of IRIS of you DCS: W team progress.

IRIS stated it was going to be slow. They are working on converting things for p3d v2.

finally, now just wait until they reopen the IRIS section in the forum. Even so, so that it is clear by your statement, we have to wait to find out which modules will work in the future.

:) I don't think you'll be seeing the IRIS forums open here for some time. :)

It's tricky enough to manage the flow of information as it is.

Still, thanks for the nudge. I'll see what I can show off in time.

basically what they said is, their FSX developents are way more important than DCS, and their principle DCS modler has quit.

FSX is more important since that's guarantees them a steady income. That their principle DCS-guy has quit is a complication, the FSX-bit common business-sense.

Clustermunitions is just another way of saying that you don't like someone.

I used to like people, then people ruined that for me.

Taking a Leave to go to school for his field is not quitting.

Studios have Assets and Investments in the FSX Projects, they arent just gonna throw them away to come to a new platform.

On the other hand FSX is closer to the end of its life. so...

P3D 2.0 Offers a Similar Environment w/ more features and a fairly painless process for Studios to port their Projects too.

It will be interesting, for sure. I (and most combat flight simmers I know) are not interested in an FSX offshoot for combat, though. That's some creative capitalization, by the way ;)

there was news around christmas that yes, they are still active, but things are going very slowly, and they are not saying which aircraft they will develop after having problems with the trainer they were going to do. fair to say its unlikely they would do something as complex as the f-14, at least first up.

I would not get high hope on this one. They scuttled the bd5j and want to do the f14. They either have a freaking genius at coding, or are suicidal. Simply look the time it takes Ed, bzecel and veao studios, to make mig21, a10, f18, and hawk. They just can t release anything soon and i wouldn't expect too much either. It s better to keep feet on the ground and eventually be surprised by a nice prduct, than dreaming f14 for years and eventuallybget dissapointed.

I wish them the best !

I think you may be right the variable geometry wing would make an AFM complex. It's a shame because the F14 would make a cracking simulator. The F14D was a really effective bombing platform and it would be a lot of fun to have such a variety of missions you could fly. Bombing TARPS CAP Intercept.

If you're interested in the F14 which I am Aerosoft are producing a Tomcat, unfortunately not for DCS but it looks quite good.
