O_Smiladon Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 S! All, Can any ATI card users tell me if they have fixed the problem with the whit dots that would appear randomly with the new ATI drivers ..I have held off updating my video card because of these little dots. So ATI guys with the latest drivers everything running ok with the graphics side of things ? O_Smiladon [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Mewle Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 I've never had this issue running my HD 7850. On the latest non beta catalyst and drivers. What's your rig spec? sobek Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Same here, 7850 with no problems whatsoever. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
Milli Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Never seen white dots with my 5770 and latest driver, or with any driver for that matter.
NRG-Vampire Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 i am pretty sure this not caused by drivers: you will get more little white dots with a more overclocked gfx card ;) (same with latest non beta driver: 13.4) this is side effect of overclocking
Aries Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 It was a "feature" of 6950/6970 series apparently with any driver after 11.6... u have one of those maybe? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] ...the few, the proud, the remaining...
crazyeddie Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Put more water in whatever it is you are drinking ... :drunk: I hear the voices, I missed out on the dots ... Am I being deprived ?
O_Smiladon Posted June 14, 2013 Author Posted June 14, 2013 Yeah Mate the 6950..and my drive is 11.5 I think I don't get the dots with that. I don't overclock at all. Sooo is there any one out there with the latest driver on their 69xx cards that don't get the dots? O_Smiladon [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

PE_Tigar Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 This is a known issue and has been there forever. It's hard to get a screenshot, because the dots (polka dots rather) appear on ground and especially building textures but flicker rather than just stay there, with HDR on.
dooom Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Confirmed - I have 6970 on latest drivers. White dots only occur if HDR on. The card is not overclocked. Aries Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Here is a video I made when still had a 6950... nov I'm a happy camper on a Nvidia GTX660... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] ...the few, the proud, the remaining...
Davis0079 Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 the 660gtx is a damn fine card for around $200.....I recommend it to all ATI/AMD users SLI 260gtx did BF3 on medium settings at 35-45 FPS one 660gtx does BF3 on Ultra at 135 FPS unbeatable value for a mid-range card in the 600 series It only takes two things to fly, Airspeed and Money.
Zaxxar Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Certainly! The white dot flashes on and off at rapid pace , so I had to freeze the sim, then try about 50 times before the screenshot captured the offending dot. Two screenshots attached one with dot and one without - the dot is just belowt he right tail-fin. Its always a white rounded square
G00dnight Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 confirm my 6970 does this. AMD A8-5600K @ 4GHz, Radeon 7970 6Gig, 16 Gig Ram, Win 10 , 250 gig SSD, 40" Screen + 22 inch below, Track Ir, TMWH, Saitek combat pedals & a loose nut behind the stick
sylkhan Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 HDR on, MSAA 16Q(very little FPS loss) in DSCW settings, and no more white dots :) with 6950
NRG-Vampire Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 confirm my 6970 does this. 7950 does too with 13.4
O_Smiladon Posted June 15, 2013 Author Posted June 15, 2013 HDR on, MSAA 16Q(very little FPS loss) in DSCW settings, and no more white dots :) with 6950 Are you using the latest driver and how is the performance of you other games? O_Smiladon [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Nealius Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 I don't recall my 7850 with 13.2 drivers ever doing this in HDR, but I usually go no-HDR nowadays.

Kuky Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 These are supposed to be canopy scratches but not working properly... it's been fixed in later versions, I think it'll be in 1.2.5 No longer active in DCS...
