TheVilliers Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Hi I bought the Hawk originally on Steam and have since switched to the stand alone version. But the Hawk doesn't appear on the Beta version. Any ideas how to fix this? Yeah i have this however, its for my K-4, FW190 and Sabre.
strikerdg Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 F-86 not showing in 1.5 I believe I have a similar problem.. Some of my steam purchases automatically updated and worked fine in the standalone (A-10C, P-51, FC3) but the F-86 is not showing up there.. how do I get it to work? People in the past have mentioned using the key from steam but where do I even input that on the standalone version.. the only option I see is to buy it..

Just download the F-86 module from the ED website, install it, and it will then ask for the key when you try to run it. Enter the Steam key, it works in the standalone DCS World.
strikerdg Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Thanks for the reply.. I downloaded the F-86 module from the dcs website, attempted to install it but it says DCS 1.28 is required to be installed. I do not understand. Why did 1.5 automatically see all my other modules but not the F-86? I bought everything through steam, the only thing I did not get through steam was the dcs 1.5 download and now the f-86 (which is already downloaded through steam). Sorry but this is a bit frustrating that this is not a clear cut process.

But if I were to guess, it sounds like the F-86 module has just not been adapted to work with 1.5. It is Beta, after all, so some problems are to be expected.
yipster Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Should I move out of Steam? I have been using Steam mainly for my DCS World since the early days of the A10C standalone version. I still use Steam to manage my DCS World package (and buy modules from Steam) because it is very easy to do so and I can keep all my games in one central portal. I'm wondering if there is any advantages to move DCS World out of Steam and use ED's own application to run DCS World from? In anticipation for 1.5 and 2.0 releases. - Will updates (DCS 1.5 and 2.0) be released the same time both on ED and Steam? - How do I migrate purchased modules from Steam to DCS? - Can ED software automatically update DCS and its modules without having to launch DCS first? I like how Steam runs when Windows loads and I can just leave it there to do its business with keeping all my games up to date.

Furthermore, new modules released as beta version, are only available on the standalone version. - Login here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/personal/ with your ED account. (Same as you use in multiplayer) There you can bind the keys from your steam version to your ED account. - Yes there is a "Update DCS" shortcut you can use without starting DCS. nick10 Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 How does 1.5 work? Do I need to do an entire new download and install seperate to my current game? What happens when it then comes out of beta? Does the new download become the game proper or does the old official app just update? I ask because I don't want to spend hours downloading and burning my downloads limit only to have to go back and update the official app
Gpruitt54 Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 DCS World (Openbeta) on steam, on modules displaying This weekend my system was updated to the openbata of DCS World on Steam. I am experiencing some major issues associated with the upgrade to the openbata When I open DCS World, all I see is a screen with moving clouds, music, and the DCS logo panel in the upper left. I see my username at the top near the DCS Logo panel. That is all there is on the screen. I have a total of 6 DCS titles, but none of them show up any ware on the screen. Windows 10 16GB of ram Intel processor Asus Z97 board Please help resolve what ever is happening with my installation of DCS World?
MTrenda Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 you will need to go to the top left area there is a rectangle with made of squares. click on this to reload your modules. next to that is you options menu to change your options. you also need to make sure you are running the single player Grey Icon as there was a bug for the multi player icon not launching because your were not logged in. the single player will ask you to login, just use your ED id to get in. Right side shold be al your multiplayer, mission editor, ect. thanks 76th Falcon MSI Creator X299 - INTEL i9 - 10900X 3.7 GHZ - 32 GB Corsair Dominator DDR4 - EVGA GTX 1080 FTW AC2
Steinsch Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Campaign Progress Hi, I updated to the DCS 1.5 beta on Steam. I quickly realized that my campaign progress had not been copied to the new version. That's fine, as lots of things have changed and we all want to avoid compatibility issues. But. What if I now start a campaign in the 1.5 beta? Will the progress be saved and usable in the 1.5 final? sparts Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 1.5 on Steam Please could someone help. I may be a bit thick but I can't seem to see how to Download 1.5 in Steam. Thanks..
Sciatis Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 You have to opt into open beta. Go to your game library and find DCS world. Right click DCS world, click properties. Go to Betas tab and click on drop down menu then select openbeta - Public beta versions and let the client update. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "There is no such thing as a plea of innocence in my court. Hueyman Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Hello all !! I have Installed DCS World from DCS store, and all my other modules were bought on DCS store, except the MiG 21 that I bought on Steam. It worked fine before because I could download the module on, DCS store then activate it with my steam key, but now I can't find the 1.5 MiG21 file, and the ingame module installer doesn't allow me to directly install the new version from there. Any ideas ? Thanks ! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] CPL(A)IR ME/SEP/MEP/SET - CPL(H)
shagrat Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 To use the Steam Keys with the DCS Module Manager you need to register the keys on http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com Login to your account (the one you use to go online/play multiplayer) And check the key (personal section after login). There should be an option to bind it to an account... 1 Shagrat - Flying Sims since 1984 - Win 10 | i5 10600K@4.1GHz | 64GB | GeForce RTX 3090 - Asus VG34VQL1B | TrackIR5 | Simshaker & Jetseat | VPForce Rhino Base & VIRPIL T50 CM2 Stick on 200mm curved extension | VIRPIL T50 CM2 Throttle | VPC Rotor TCS Plus/Apache64 Grip | MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals | WW Top Gun MIP | a hand made AHCP | 2x Elgato StreamDeck (Buttons galore)

shagrat Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 Wow thanks Shagrat that worked fine :-) Best, to register all keys there, if you haven't done already. After that module manager can be used for all the modules, and will include everything in the updater when patching. Also the license should now be linked to your machine, thus apply for parallel installs of Openbeta (as in no aditional activation mayhem). fruityflyer Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Not sure if this has already been answered but I already think I know the answer but here goes :) Can I give my friend the key to one of my aircraft which he does not own and then can we both fly online together at the same time both using the same CD/aircraft key?
Drag0nWIng Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 If you use official client which download from this site, you have to bond the cdkey and your mulitplayer account. They will check the key when you log in. If you use steam client, they will also check the key when log into the master server.

No. Each account needs to have one key per the same aircraft. E.g. if he is flying an A-10C and you are flying an A-10C both of you need a valid key for their installation. The SU-25T and the (unarmed) TF-51D Mustang are free and do not require a key. MikeSinn Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 I currently have DCS World 1.5.2 stand alone (non steam version) installed on my PC but want to take advantage of the module sale on Steam. I understand that module keys bought on Steam can be transferred to my DCS account. However, when I try to buy the Mig-21 module through steam, I get an error at checkout saying that DCS world must be installed. Is there a way to get past this without installing a complete second version of DCS?
bladewalker Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Hi Mike I was just having the same problem. Just manually add the game by using the add game button on the bottom left of the steam client. I just did it and bought FC3. No problems.
SolUniverse Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 I think if you start it installing you can then buy the module as its installing.. I know u can get the key from steam this way wo having to install the whole thing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
