  2. I don't know if this F-18 specific, but when you get really close behind another aircraft (this one is AI), the heat blur from the engines just disappears.
  3. The SA-5 TR has a significantly higher range than its SR. With the TR emitting by default*, an SA-5 battery will lock and shoot a target within ±25° of the TR azimuth angle at ~130 nm range. This is likely far outside of the TR antenna main lobe width. When this happens, the TR azimuth will suddenly snap from its initial angle by 25° to the azimuth of the approaching aircraft: SA5_TR_Omniscient.trk The TR scans neither azimuth not elevation, sitting still until it magically becomes aware where to aim to lock the aircraft. When approaching 30° off the TR azimuth, it will only lock and engage an F-16 at a range of 70 nm. Presumably, getting the targeting information from its shorter range SR: SA_TR_Normal.trk *) Apart from the TR magically picking up targets outside of its antenna main lobe, I doubt it would be continuously emitting. Firstly, it would give away its location, inviting ARM attacks. Secondly, unlike an SR, the TR electronics would likely not be designed to emit continuously for hours/days, causing unnecessary wear and thus premature hardware failure.
  4. On top of that, DCS night lighting has some room for improvement, so in DCS you’d need NVGs in situations that likely wouldn’t require one IRL.
  5. А какой функционал у этого блока ? Он как-то связан с ИПВ ?
  6. There are supposed to be an independent settings for units and cockpit language.
  7. When you don’t have a (very) high end system, I’d avoid headsets with very high resolution/PPD (pixels per degree). Something with similar specs as a Reverb G2 for example should work quite well
  8. May i present in honor of Current Hill's great work: CH's China assets pack LIVE : Enjoy my friends
  9. Right now, the Hornet's radar is in a bad way for any significant air to air employment. In addition to this OP, you can no longer step through TWS priority tracks either. All-reported, but probably serious enough that it should've warranted a no-release for this MSI improvement...or a quick hot fix. They'll get to it.
  10. Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice on which VR headset to buy mainly for DCS. I’ve seen the Meta Quest 3S, which is within my budget, but I’ve read that the visual quality isn’t that great. The Quest 3 (normal) is out of my budget, so now I’m considering either a brand new Pico 4 (base model) or a used Pico 4 Ultra — though I’m not 100% comfortable with buying used gear. For reference, my PC specs are: Intel i7-9700K overclocked to 4.6GHz, RTX 4060 Ti 16GB, and 32GB of RAM. Which option do you think would give me the best VR experience?
  11. Запуск с ускоренной выставкой занимает 3 минуты
  12. Is the following possible? (I'm getting a sinking feeling that the answer is, incredibly, no) A campaign with multiple stages, with (say) four different missions in each. As you get to a stage you are assigned a mission at random, if the mission is a success you advance to the next stage where you are assigned a mission at random, but if the mission is not a success you stay in the same stage and have to refly the same mission. The player never goes back a stage, they have to refly the same mission in a stage until it is completed successfully, they can then move on to the next stage. I understand that a score of 50 keeps you in the same stage, but I presume one of the four missions would be randomly assigned, which is not what I'm after. Grateful for any suggestions. My first impression of this tool is that it is somewhat lacking.
  13. Today
  14. The "Wags videos" should come in thick & fast now. We have a lot to cover. Navigation, Sensors, A-A, A-G.
  15. It has been changed ,1113 won't work anymore.
  16. Any chance we could get a pilot body added for vr users?
  17. Почему нет? Например на Ф-14 есть функция ускоренной(или мгновенной) выставки даже при холодном запуске. Надеюсь на МиГ-29А будут такие же опции.
  18. Thanks for bringing it up. I saw that the same spot had been spawn for multiple users at the same, and these users were dead at the end with few seconds
  19. @BIGNEWY Just a doubt here, will there be a Metric English cockpit on release? Currently, I see there is an English cockpit with Imperial units and standard Cyrillic metric cockpit from Wags' videos.
  20. I would think the team building this chair would need to address this; if needed, they could reach out to us to discuss. But we cannot make changes for one piece of hardware without the ability to verify or confirm what is actually needed.
  21. When multiple players use dynamic spawn to spawn more or less simultaneously, they may spawn in the same parking position, resulting in multiple planes spawned inside of each other. This physically invalid state is then quickly resolved by means of pilot death, explosions, and magically levitating fireballs. This is not the first time, I've noticed this issue. Unfortunately, the associated track file is too large to upload (~80 MB). Instead, I've uploaded a fun explosion video, showing the spawn issue occurring twice in a row. First with two F-16s, then with three. Guess this is a server-side issue, with the server failing to arbitrate parking positions between simultaneously spawning players. dynamic_spawn_explosions.mp4
  22. No,no, it is just serious unhappy and expensive mistake on user side
  23. and there is this post
  24. I had my first longer session with the Super and DCS after my summer break yesterday. Tracking on my platform was fine at the beginning but gradually got worse as the session went on. I’ve read somewhere that taking off the headset can worsen tracking results, and I can confirm that from my own experience. So, tracking starts out fine - but once the headset is taken off a few times during a session, things deteriorate, and I just don’t understand why. Overall, I’m still happy with the Super. The tracking issues aren’t bad enough to make the headset unusable, but they are definitely quite annoying.
  25. IRL IRST range is 15 km detection 12 km track for head on Mil MiG-21. Add planes with bigger heat signatures, in rear aspects using possibly afterburner, and no surprised to detect 30-40 km away. Being able to range them though will be limited by MPRF detection though which would be 18-40 km depending on altitude, background, RCS, etc
  26. For those with a Rhino FFB and Helicopters: Do you guys use the DCS Force Trim or the VP Hardware Force Trim?
