  2. CBU-99 Height of Function.xlsxDamage effects of CBU-99s with FMU-140 are hit or miss...literally. I've been testing them for some time, and the best results I have are with CBU-99 with Mk 339 at low altitude. For FMU-140, as per ED's instructions on September 7th changelog, for DCS 2.9.20.15010, under the Weapons section it reads: Mk-20/CBU-99. Improved bombsight accuracy. Please note that using FMU-140 in low-altitude horizontal flight bombing runs will lead to poor accuracy - in these cases Mk 339 fuze must be used. FMU-140 should provide acceptable accuracy in dive bombing runs and, in specific conditions, in horizontal flight bombing runs (function altitude set to ca. 1/3 of release altitude and specific airspeed at release, e.g. function altitude - 3 kft, release altitude - 10 kft, TAS - 580 kts) Mk-20/CBU-99. Fixed Mk 339 fuze function delay being counted down after arming instead of after release In my testing, FMU-140 works best by flying level,dropping at 10,000 feet, with an airburst of 3,000 feet AGL, using AUTO mode. This way the bomblets have enough time to arm and spread. The spreadsheet below gives you an idea of various profiles for dropping these cluster munitions. (If you are asking yourself why would I spend too much time doing this and testing, the answer is: I'm a stubborn nerd). So, the end game is that you must allow time for the bombs to separate from the aircraft, open and, most important, arm. However, the bomblets do cause damage only when they directly hit the targets. Funnily enough, the result is that -99s are most effective against armored than against light targets. I blame that on the lack of a proper fragmentation model, but ED said they are working on it. From the July 23rd changelog: Weapons. Work in progress fixes for the following bombs explosive mass: M117, Mk-80 series, and WWII AN-M GP series. This also applies to Guided Bomb Units (GBU) that use the Mk-80 series of warheads. This is connected to the changes for SAMP bombs that we did in the previous patch and will be evaluated and finalized in future patches. Most rocket warhead families (at least Hydra/Zuni/FFAR, S-5/8/13/25, and SNEB-68) are already set up with parameters that match our available sources. Actual effect on targets is subject to change along with implementation of the fragmentation model. (We missed mentioning this in June 18’s update). Try to hit the same targets with Mark 82s, and better yet, Mark 84s. You don't need to hit light targets directly, they'll catch fire from the frag effect.
  3. I got it working again. The mounting of my drives changed, I don't know how, but they were originally located in the /run folder, then they were in the /mnt folder. I only found them there because they were no longer auto-mounting at boot up. I don't know enough yet to understand if it was an update or something I did.
  4. What can go wrong in the TGP? As long as it is CCRP, isn't it just "point and shoot" while holding down first detent of the trigger?
  5. Sorry, I took that for 82air - skimming on a tiny phone screen is always dangerous! Strange that a video card would make the difference… I’m assuming you watched my track and didn’t identify anything I might be doing incorrectly? I also tried in caucuses and had the same results.

  7. This is realistic, the submunition has a HEAT warhead about the size of a hand grenade. If it doesn't land directly on top of an armored vehicle, it won't do a whole lot, and it doesn't even fragment all that much. The visuals are fake because actually showing 247 distinct bomblets and corresponding explosion effects per bomb (meaning a 4-bomb ripple has almost 1000 of the buggers, and a fully loaded four ship of Hornets will dispense close to 8000) would likely bog down the sim.
  8. It should work with the Su-33, yes! The mod should appear in your Special Options menu if installed correctly, can you double check that it's in the right folder? The entire "FC-Clickable-Cockpits-Continued" folder should go into your "Saved Games\DCS\Mods\tech" directory. If you're still having problems, can you DM me your DCS log from "Saved Games\DCS\Logs\dcs.log" ?

  10. It’s Mach. 0-0.45, it pushes stabilizer down -2 degrees. 0.45-0.72 (LEF locked up) it’s -15 degrees. Then -2 degrees again above 15 degrees AOA, assuming LEF are working

  12. Yes exactly what I’m saying. Within 15/35 km the Su-27 will give a STT lock signal with IRST lock. You can avoid this with MiG-29, not possible with Su-27 unless you turn radar off completely and idk if it would need to warm up when turning it back on

  14. I think the issue comes from the explosions effects discrepancy I noticed this a while ago and today during test to report it i noticed something. Even if i changed the Airburst Height at which the submunitions released, the effect remained the same. The visual effect of it i mean. If you slow down the replay you can see the submunitions diferent dispersions, but the visual effect will mislead the user. I think it will worth to update the visuals to match the dispersion. That will help the user to see what the settings and how he deployed it really does. null

They only see contacts in the Low and Medium altitude bands, but detect anything in VLow flight normally because they don’t suffer from the same clutter problem that affects air search radars.   20. Funny, i noticed this last night flying over forest on Syria. Was planning on doing some settings tweaks tonight to see if I can smooth it out. I do not use quadviews (pimax or mbuch) as I find it looks horrible with either one. I'm using just Piplay latest and tweaking in there and DCS settings. I get 60+ fps pretty consistently with piplay set to medium resolution. Does the motion smoothing in Nvidia app and Piplay have anything to do with this?

Вот эпизод, в котором RIO F-14D опусывает пуск 2-х AIM-54 по иракскому МиГ-25 в 1999 году (начало с 27:00, причины 40:23): По его словам, процедура пуска обеих ракет была выполнена правильно, но он не увидел обычной горки которые они должны были сделать. В итоге пуск оказался неудачным из-за человеческого фактора: персонал на авианосце, отвечающий за вооружение, по ошибке не взвел переключатель на двигателе ракеты (arming the Phoenix rocket motor) и он не сработал так, как должен был.
  23. Have you pulled sudden high Gs on the Sabre? My memory of it is fuzzy, but either the Mustang or the Sabre (or both) have gun jamming modeled by G forces. Some old bird in DCS does have gun jam modeled as it happened to me and it was because of G forces. I think it is the Sabre but I can be wrong. I can't jump into DCS to test this out right now, but it is a worth a simple test with the mission editor I guess.
  24. Yes I've lowered it now to 125 because even 500 was too much last week. It didn't occur to me to try to exit and come back if it's doing it without making other changes, though. Silly me, assuming it was a constant cause and effect situation. I will see what happens tonight I suppose.
