To all those who fly this amazing jet, who are ground pounders, how do you enter MGRS coordinates please? How could you deliver laser bombs with JTAC and his MGRS 9 Line? I can not believe no one had asked the question... It would be very surprising if this very modern jet could not create a point through MGRS coordinates. Perhaps a missing feature?

I started down that path, but have not yet taken it to its conclusion (I will get to it eventually). Over the past week I have run many many tests, still reproducing the same ED Core DLL bug. -Tested with no SA-11 (replaced with SA-6) to see if resolved...no luck. -Tested with no SA-10 (replaced with SA-2) to see if resolved...no luck. -Tested with no NASAMS (replaced with SA-6) to see if resolved...no luck. -Tested with no SA-19 to see if resolved...no luck. -Tested with no SA-15 to see if resolved...no luck. -Tested AI Hellfire Ks to see if resolved...no luck. -Tested with no Su34 Su25TM (replaced with player variant F-16) to see if resolved...no luck. -Tested with no Su34 Su25TM Su30 MiG31 (replaced with player variant F-16) to see if resolved...no luck. -Tested with no Su34 Su25TM Su30 MiG31 Su25T Tu95 Tu160 (replaced with player variant F-16 and F-18) to see if resolved...no luck. -Tested with no HMMWV and no T72B/T72BU/T80/T90 (replaced with M113 BTR_D and T-55) to see if resolved...no luck. -Tested with no HMMWV and no T72B/T72BU/T80/T90 (replaced with M113 BTR_D and T-55) and then with UH-60A replaced with UH-1H to see if resolved...no luck.

Exactly this. On my first left turn after the very first take off in VR I swore the whole house moved. No kidding. But (spoiler) this fades away rather quickly. A human brain gets used to almost everything I guess. The feeling to be inside an aircraft high up in the clouds stayed.

Just ran a quick check and everything seems ok my end. Everything present as it should be, I assume you must have been looking in the wrong position. All you need do is target designate waypoint 6 and you should be looking right in the middle of the enemy camp. Note that the coords displayed in the TGP are a different format at to the ones in the kneeboard so can't be compared directly. null

Choosing the 3s version isn't a good choice, but I understand you had your reasons, but as for the rest, I completely agree. I've been flying exclusively in VR for many years now, and I can't imagine doing it any other way. 2D and TrackIR are just a substitute. With VR, you're much closer to reality, and nothing can replace it.
-
Indeed, VR is next level. I have Quest PRO, but still for some more serious flying I still use TrackIR, and thats because of head turning. I just can't turn as much or as fast or even that often in VR as with TrackIR. Else, experience in VR is stunning indeed. The only complaint is that the graphics are still not as sharp in VR yet. I have VR for almost 3 years now, constantly trying to tweak and use any kind of trick there is, but still missing that image sharpness which we can have with a 2d monitor. Maybe this vr headset that I use (or any other which are available atm), are just not good enough yet. But anyway, user experience is another level. I also want to point out that I drive car racing sims (Le Mans Ultimate atm), where the images seems to be way sharper and clearer then in DCS, and also the whole experience seems to be better just because of that. And with the same VR settings for both games (in openXR toolkit and Oculus Try Tool). In LMU I just can't drive cars in 2d anymore. Anyway, enjoy VR, I know love it.

It is always helpful to post a track if you have one, and it is decently short to show the issue. If it was on a mp server can you replicate it in a sp setting and post the track and keep it short please. Besides that I will ask, what server and do you know for sure if the targets were stationary or moving targets?

This is probably how long the training itself will take, including exercises and consolidation of knowledge ;).

The new route tool? What do you mean?

Hello all. I believe this is my first post so thanks in advance. I am having an issue with GMT Mode getting the vehicle target boxes to appear. I place the a/c into A/G, CCRP in the SMS page. I place the FCR into GMT mode and I am not getting the white target boxes for the vehicles on the mapping. I’ve played around with gain, brightness etc. I’ve walked through the setup in MP with buddies and the targeting boxes just aren’t showing up. Any help would be appreciated

The Manual states that you can use the WRCS to initiate the LABS timers rather than relying on the pilot to initiate with the bomb release button. There is a bit of confusion with the Target Find switch, as the manual states that it is overriden if the delivery mode knob in the front seat is set outside of Target Find and that it also works in Direct and LABS modes which seem to be contradictory statements. There also seems to be confusion with what exactly the WRCS is looking for to initiate the timers. As it states that Pull-up and Release Timers are still required for modes that use them. But also states to use release range. Now that could be referencing the release range field on the panel but could also be the release range field in the bombing calculator and that wouldn't make sense for modes using the Pull-up timer.

Hello, writing to report on what I've noticed re: fighting the AI. 1. The AI is RIDICULOUSLY accurate with their guns from long distances. They are so good, they can not only tag you but nail you good and hard with high aspect shots as if they can predict where you are going and are locked on. The only way to describe it would be to call it aimbot. 2. UFO flight model. I am fighting aircraft not known for being heavy and not able to turn well and there they are, turning on a dime. 3. Speed - It's a bit silly being in pursuit and diving on ai aircraft, nearly the same distance as you from the enemy bombers you are escorting and have them blaze past you at mach 2 despite your aircraft being the faster of the two. I was diving at the A8 pushing past 400mph and he just disappeared as he was CLIMBING towards the B17s. 4. Awareness. It's like they know where your plane is at all times and are looking at you constantly. The moment you start diving on them, they are already turning to create a high-aspect shot, even if they are currently in pursuit of another target. It seems like they are omniscient. It's nice to have challenging AI, but not one that cheats. It almost makes the game unplayable and definitely not enjoyable to have P47s fly around like Spitfires. Please make it fair. I actually like that when you press the AI, they attempt to do reversals on you.

They reduced the F4U’s speed by about 7 knots in the latest update. Hopefully, this is just one step in a longer process to fine-tune its performance. I'm also hoping we see a credible Zero AI soon—especially since the real Zero was significantly slower than even the slightly slowed Corsair we have now.

I don't even dare to imagine what would be the size of that map

Hello, I already bought East Afghanistan and can't express my joy with that map as the decision of ED to provide high details on part which is considered valueable for the player and give them access to the rest of the map! What I can't quite figureout yet with Iraq map is having it again split on regions North and South would that be the case if I purchase the available North Iraq? Would I have Norther part in high resolution and South in lower or would I have access only to the Norther part and later must buy Southern part as well? P.S. can't wait for Syria map to be on sale once again!

Mission 4 problem. I input the lat/long mentioned for Golf in the kneeboards and nothing is there via the flir. Searched all around with the flir, nothing to be seen. Way point is designated a target steer point. Flir contrast, etc. adjusted. Only mod installed is tacview. I see plenty of ground and roads, but no buildings, etc. of any kind anywhere for miles around. Ideas? Broken in an update? Edit: The lat/long info. in the briefing sheet for Golf is wrong, by a large distance. Very frustrating. I got these from a flir of a youtube video of the mission and they are correct N 35 14 19 E 39 19 06 Elevation 1306 The briefing lists N 35 34 17 E 39 19 05 No elevation given.

Hi all, Firstly, thanks for this fix Taz, it's such a great QoL change for multiplayer. Unfortunately this is preventing me from using my communication menu via the binds I've set on my HOTAS and I'm not sure how to fix it. The mod is installed, or enabled, via OvGME. I have binds set for opening the command menu, cycling between the next or previous items, and selecting an item. The bind to open the command menu works fine, but once the menu is open I am unable to cycle between or select any items. The text remains white instead of turning yellow when you are cycling through the list. nullI'm using the dial on the VKB STECS ATEM. It is not an axis, and registers as buttons. You can twist it left or right, depress it, and click it fwd, aft, left and right (it's basically a dpad. I had a look through the lua file to see if there was anything in there I can edit to fix this but haven't been able to figure it out. At the end of the day it's not a dealbreaker, I might set some binds on my keyboard other than backslash and the F buttons to see if that works. Cheersnull

So, I know I'm super late to the party on this mod, but I just got it today, and it's fantastic, other than in VR, the head position is like a foot and a half too far to the right, relatively speaking. Does anyone know how I can adjust this? Recentering using the hotkey doesn't fix it. I know there's probably just something I haven't learned yet about how to move the camera position

I would very much like to know what manual as well, I'd like to acquire it if it's just available on Amazon. Also, do we have a solid release date yet?
-
IMO the problem is they've been conditioned for it, because that's how simulators have been handling it for decades.

I've spent a lot of time in the past combing through bug reports to get to a place where I could enjoy DCS. I'm retired USAF aircrew and after that career I spent another 20+ years doing software development. I even developed software solutions for FSX and P3D a long time ago. It occured to me to use an LLM AI to comb though the data not only from these forums, but to also use it analyzing simulated flight test data derived from monitoring the CPU, RAM and GPU sensors. I spent about a month in my spare time training an AI to become a simulation test data analyst. I was pleasantly surprised by how much faster problems could be tracked down in the hardware and also to tune or retune DCS (like after an update). The end result is I can determine issues almost as fast or faster than spending time waiting and wading through the forums for clues as to what is wrong. In fact, the AI has developed a "mental" picture of how DCS operates. I'm now spending a lot of time flying with instrumentation on the hardware running DCS so if something goes wrong a solution is no longer hours and days (in some cases) to get the sim and hardware back in a stable state. Is there anyone else here that has done that? And if so would they be interesting in sharing their experiences in doing so? Maybe the discussion would help others who are struggling to get the sim to work for them?
