  3. I got it figured out. For some reason adding a curve interferes with this even though the control reaches 100%. Flattening that out fixed it.
  4. @BIGNEWY or anyone else, could we have this please now that we have the option to create helipads to spawn on, seems sad all the FARP points shall be limited to helis. I know one can use roads ect, but would be a great addition to the creative community to add custom airports using the already built in asset packs. all we need are runway slabs and parking slabs really and some taxiway elements I suppose. TIA

  10. Yesterday, I encountered a very unusual error that is persistent. When I attempt to run DCS from the launcher, it crashes or freezes at the 10% mark. I ran my DCS log through the Log Analyzer (on Discord) and it said there is an error on Line 77 in the image_search_path.lua file. The analyzer claims there is a nil value on line 77. If I rename my Saved Games/DCS folder to DCS.old then allow a new one to be built, then DCS will run again. I can also get it to run ONCE after I delete this new saved games folder and revert to my old Saved Games DCS folder. This mess began when I exited a multiplayer server; the game became unresponsive and displayed a black screen. I had to end the task via Windows Task Manager. When I then reloaded DCS, I got a login error indicating my profile did not load properly and that any paid module was inaccessible. It is also key to note that my default wallpaper reverted to the default Caucasus screen. It was previously set to the Apache wallpaper. Additionally, I compared an earlier version of the image_search_path.lua file to the current version. They match! So the big question remains: What is the fix for this issue? FWIW: the affected code of the image_search_path.lua file is as follows: function addTexturesInMap(a_path) for file in lfs.dir(a_path) do local b = lfs.attributes(a_path .. '/' .. file) if (b.mode == 'file') then <---This is the offending line according to the DCS Log analyzer. mapTextures[file] = 1 end end end dcs.log This is the error that is reported from the DCS Log Analyzer: Error attempt to index local 'b' (a nil value) Line 77 Script ./Scripts/image_search_path.lua If the above errors point to DCS internal files, please conduct a !repair. Otherwise remove the respective unofficial mod.
  11. Max, Thank you once again for help. I am not on Steam I have tried to update and it starts to check then bombs out so I have re set my Nvidia driver to the latest but to no avail. I cannot repair it without entering the game and it does not do start. It goes for about 5 secs then the blue circle stops and ends. This is what led me to think it might be Graphics as this is the time the Nvidia panel comes up to check log in I have manually deleted and used the Re shade install panel to try and remove everything many times . Also repaired registry and shortcuts and everything that Gary Utilities will offer. When you say re name the DCS folder what to ? I have copied my input setting folder which is out of date by about three weeks and hope to use this when this lot is repaired. I have to solve this as I need re shade for the DDI panels and this update as opposed to the last four set the Re shade settings panel without the four relevant shaders UIMask top UIMask bottom Tonemap etc were not there as before so I blame the update in my naivety ! Any further comments welcome. The only good thing this that "Openreach" the `Telecom provider sent me an e mail saying I will finally after 6 months have a 1Gig connection so future rubbish will just take less time !!! David If its true it would be nice to have this fixed in DCS and negate "Re Shade"

    I'm assuming, and I guess it could be faulty assumption, but the glass texture posted above and the Roughmet both look correct. The format of the Roughmet has been altered from BC7 to whatever he's using now, since BC7 doesn't support the thumbnail preview (AFAIK). So I'm assuming that he exported correctly. However, for whatever the reason the actual texture image posted doesn't contain the colors needed to produce for example what he's showing as a golden aft canopy color. The Roughmet alone won't change that color tint.
  13. Thanks for the explanation about the 9900x3d. Makes sense why nobody talks about it. I found this video of a spanish speaking youtuber. He is testing the 9950x3D and the 9800x3D in Vr in this video. Unfortunatey he seemed to have bottlenecked his test with the GPU. He has a lot of setting to high. I thought the RTX 5090 would handle it. But he has a CPU frame time chart in the end, which shows that the 9950x3d gives some kind of improvement to the CPU frame time.   14. Thanks! I thought i tried almost every way to make it work. But the problem is not solved. The Y-axis ffb strength is really low, even when i increase "Spring Effect Strength" in Logitech Gaming Software. Also tried to increase ffb gain in dcs itself, but again no changes. Does anybody have the same issue? Sorry for EN.
  15. Mind you, Open Beta isn't a thing anymore. Division between DCS branches was removed last summer and whether your old install was Stable or OB one we all get the same updates on the same date nowadays.
  16. Could anyone tell me Is the refund still an option as of the current date? I really didn’t want to when this first happened and hoped we would find a solution but this is ongoing and my gut feeling is without a good resolution, so I am contemplating refunding the F15E if that’s still a possibility and getting a new map.
  17. The 9950X3D has two compute chiplets, with 3D-cache on one of them. The game should entirely run on the chiplet with 3D-cache, because otherwise things actually get slower/more stutter, since sending data between the chiplets is very slow. That is why the 9800X3D and 9950X3D perform almost equally, even though the 9800X3D has only one compute-chiplet. For gaming, only one chiplet tends to matter. The 9900X3D has two chiplets of 6 cores, again with one chiplet having the 3D-cache. So when running games, that would run on the chiplet with 3D-cache with only 6 cores. If you get a 9800X3D, then you actually run on a 8-core chiplet, and 8 is more than 6. So we don't talk about the 9900X3D because it's CPU with a very limited use case: a person that runs both games, and productivity software that can use take advantage of many cores and benefits little from the 3D-cache, but can't afford the 9950X3D which is good at both, so they get the 9900X3D, which is worse at both. I strongly suspect that most buyers of the 9900X3D lack technical knowledge and buy the wrong product for their use case.

  22. @currenthill I understand you can't really answer to my question, but : In your future addition for DCS core, are you going to add yours infantries's mod (Javelin, Kornet, snipers, etc...) ? I fly with the 06 Multirole Helicpter Regiment (Who doesn't use mods) and it will be gamechanger for our transports (CH-47, Mi-8, Huey, even Mi-24) to have the possibily to transport soldiers with ATGM to defend city against IFV or Tanks. RPG soldiers are not a real threat against convoys, but anti material snipers or ATGM are. Embarking mortars teams without any script is a must have too. I hope your future core addition are infantries, because DCS core is really really lack of differents soldiers.
  23. Not to sound like a broken record, but the values your team tested are incorrect. Based on my limited test, a 20% survival rate from a rear aspect shot is unacceptably low. That's like saying there is an 80% chance of your computer crasheing upon loading Windows. Would you find that acceptable? Here are my questions: 1. What is the target that a missile (Fox 1, 2, 3, or other SAM) aims on the Hornet? From my perspective, it appears to be the pilot! 2. Why is the survival rate of the MiG-29S (as I tested) at 100%? 3. Does this imply values for the MiG-29 are incorrect or unrealistic? 4. (Speculative) Will the values for the upcoming MiG-29A (full-fidelity) have parity with the Hornet or similar Western aircraft? 5. Why does ED believe the survival values for the Hornet are correct? 6. What is it going to take to improve these values?

  25. Radar never use is an existing option, but there is no similar option for RWR. I agree that features like this would be useful.
