Highly recommend this squadron - loving my time here in the VFA-102!
  3. Proper technique is to be trimmed for level on-speed AOA flight during the downwind. The OP should practice power manipulation from this starting point to see what it does in this stable trimmed condition. Once the OP is comfortable with this, then the transition to entering on-speed AOA from a non level attitude will be much easier. Cheers, John
  4. It’s still way easier now than manually programming it. Is it perfect? No. Does it work? Yes. Guess what, even IRL things are not perfect all the time.
  5. You expect too much from users. That was the point. [emoji6] Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  6. No such option for supercarriers.
  7. Nice. Seems like I am very close to this. I am looking forward to make the new one.
  8. Today
  9. Ok, thanks for the help.
  11. Just as a work around, could you set your home pit ejection seat control to have functionality similar to a 'turbo' button, which just presses is input rapidly when actuated, instead of holding it?
  12. On my Constellation Alpha, the lever outputs both a button and an axis signal. So I expect the same to be true for the CM2.
  13. Need a track file. You likely did damage to the engine beforehand and the engine driven fuel pump failed, if your temps were in fact okay. Did you hear engine knocking sound when you pushed the throttle up? Come back with a track file next time and I’ll gladly take a look for you. FYI, your intercooler flaps do nothing except add drag during takeoff. You need them to cool the carb air only when the blower is running. Without the blower, you aren’t generating heat in this area. You can leave them closed.
  14. The Mk.IV test dated December 1944, is probably the best document to use as it's the closest to a F4U-1D test that can be found. https://www.wwiiaircraftperformance.org/f4u/kd227.pdf
  15. the new windows 11 24h2 update mess with the long load time for DCS World latest update? I keep getting logging and load menus saying busy loading.
  16. Are you guys able to run the Pimax software without disconnecting monitors. It's one of the reasons I switched back to Track IR with a 55" UHD TV for a monitor. LouP
  17. According to my previous test (before patch 2.9.19.13478 which added WEP switch) I had 396 mph TAS at 20k . I will make new one.
  18. I'm saving up for this: https://dofreality.com/flight-motion-simulator/
  19. OK, I think I figured it out. I opened the intercooler and oil cooler before take-off, and all went well (as far as the seizing issue). As I said right when the engine seized previously, I hit the escape key to freeze the action and all temps looked OK on the instruments. It's as if the position of the various cooling flaps is determining when the engine should fail instead of the temperatures as shown on the gauges. I know this may seem like the same thing but when you are watching your gauges to determine when to open the flaps, it can mess you up as you will think all is well and not open the flaps yet. But I am confused if this is true as to why it didn't just seize on the carrier deck. Something seems not quite right. Thank you all, LouP
  20. Is this what you have in mind? I did it very slow. Hopefully not so slow that you don’t notice it. There are two commands to slow the motion down. “LCtrl-]” slows down the slew speed of the keyboard, while “LCtrl-[“ slows it down if slewing with the mouse. I find the mouse works best for me. OTOH, if you have a spare controller laying around and want to dedicate it solely to external views, that would probably give you the most control.
  21. I believe a C5 can. I'd be doubtful about anything else.
  22. During the demo yesterday, I don't remember seeing any belts. As it happens, I put a 4 point Willans on my own right, which doesn't move (though does have a jetseat). I just like the slight improvement in immersion, and they were peanuts from Ebay.
  23. Geht mir auch so, die haben was...
  24. Yes that's right, no need to enter coordinates at all, just select wp6 and hit designate, the WP is already in the correct position/attitude so you should be looking right at the target.
  25. okay thank you very much okay thank you very much
  26. Yep, blast range is ok now, but the damage dealt over distance is A) a bit too excessive (my subjective opinion) and B) as it is a stand in for fragmentation too fast, as the fragments slow down faster. Keep in mind, if you dropped more than one bomb the damage is cumulative (also in real life), as the blast waves overlap (and IRL would interact). Also IRL an airburst Mk-82 would spray the whole site and damage most if not everything not armored. The thing here is damage modeling, though it has improved, isn't able to visualize things like crew incapacitated, a track of a tank damaged (mobility), though some effects are modeled. For example damaged units can't drive full speed any more, simulation of engine/mobility damage. So, yes, the current change is not perfect, but it is a big step in the right direction. For a long time, you could more or less throw a Mk-82 between a couple T-80 some 10m apart and if you were very lucky one got noticable damage. IRL the crews would have been heavily disoriented, or even injured, likely the tracks on the side of the explosion damaged and some of the optics and external weapons (DshK) damaged.
  27. I dont know how you are looking on this issue, but tell me whats difference in realism between jumping in mission and have already some DTC loaded - could be player prefered CMS setting, but its not, instead there is something like jet manufacturer setting worth of **** - So if you still want to have your prefered without manualy typing all the program EVERY mission again and again, then you have to go to DTC editor and by small (almost hidden) LOAD button and picking your DTC file from your PC disc - This is realism according to ED team?
