PSVR2 - now works with Eye Tracking and Quad Views!
RealDCSpilot replied to proxlamus's topic in Virtual Reality
Yeah sure, it tricks your brain. I got totally used to it with my standalone HMD. But to describe the effect better - i would call it the "old man" filter. Everything reaction time based get's "stretched and smoothed out" in time. Something like this. Stuff becomes more unresponsive. It becomes extremely obvious in helicopter takeoffs, like with the AH64. I have a full HOTAS in a seat, so i have to work with all arms and feet to coordinate a clean takeoff with cyclic, collective and pedals. You have to do a lot of work with micro corrections and my fist takeoff with the PSVR2 was quite an experience after years with of streaming VR. @Qcumber Yeah, you have to take your whole system latency into account, add HOTAS device input latency and so on. In the end you'll have that huge latency chunk of VR streaming in the middle of that data pipeline, which is a massive bottleneck compared to everything else. -
So weit so gut.

Thanks guys for the walkthrough. Managed to do it finally !

You should be able to run the game at 0.8 image quality with the quadviews, which should give you a solid 60 FPS, depending on the map.

[Known issue] Barometric Altimeter Switch Stuck
Zabuzard replied to Model98's topic in Bugs & Problems
Yeah exactly. The fix is done and will be available as soon as new Phantom builds are published and make it your way. That has not happened yet but will hopefully soon be the case -

Well, the last F-4E patches from Heatblur are from May 21st. The fix was confirmed June 30. So the fix might have made it but the HB patches are still to come. Let's w8&c - Today

So the fix might not have made it? Issue is still present -
This is the new “industry standard” - eternal early access. People keep buying EA because that’s all there is. It is not a matter of patience because the full release will never come, or come when the game/module is outdated and irrelevant. The warbirds sim market is currently at a low between the tides. The previous major product has moved on to Korea era, and while it has a Mosquito its outdated interface, ridiculous key binding scheme, and no clickable cockpits, make it a no-go for me. There are some new sims preparing to enter the market, but they are still not ready - the competition will be most welcomed! I actually came to DCS just because of the Mosquito module, as soon as it was announced. Non of the new sims will have a Mosquito for many years ahead - the DCS module is all we will have at a high sim level. Luckily, my other “must have” is F6F Hellcat, and this is expected to be offered by at least one promising new sim. If they make it in time, I may consider not getting “early access” from DCS.

A lot can be reused in the works but it's still new external model, whole new rear cockpit, FM, DM, MP synch code, liveries...

PSVR2 - now works with Eye Tracking and Quad Views!
Qcumber replied to proxlamus's topic in Virtual Reality
At a steady 72fps, VD has a latency of about 35-40 ms which includes game, encoding, networking and deciding latencies. I presume that with DP the only major latency is game latency? So with a maximum game latency of 13.8 ms (to maintain 72 fps) the overall DP latency would be about 20 ms. Am I working this out correctly? I don't know what the latencies are through oculus link cable, but the bitrate is 960 mbps h264 vs 150 mbps HEVC10 with VD. So I presume the latency would be a bit less with oculus link!? Do these latencies affect eye tracking? Is the tracking better through DP vs a link with compression? -

Comparing the Quest 3 and the Crystal Super on a system with a 9800X3D and a RTX 5090 is … silly I think. I have a 9950X3D (which in games I understand is comparable to 9800X3D) and a RTX 5090 - and I have both the Quest 3 and Crystal Super. The difference in is huge. I understand that Pimax has a pretty low requirement for the Super on their website. Personally I think that is misleading. I personally wouldn’t run it on a system without a RTX 5090 and a good CPU. Maybe a 4090. I have a system with a 4090 too (see signature), but for me that is unsatisfying… You CAN run it on a lower end system, and obviously you do. But I think it is a waste of money because you are missing out on what the Crystal Super has to offer, why it even exists- and you might as well spend your money elsewhere. I understand your concern, because first - the Crystal Super is super expensive- and paying for a RTX 5090 is very very expensive too. Is it worth it? For me - yes. But I am an older dude, Flight sims has been my hobby since 1983, and the investment didn’t bother me as much. 15 years ago I could not have afforded it. Yes, you can super sample the Quest 3 more with a RTX 5090 than with your 3080. It will run a lot better of course than with your present graphics card. But still - physically the Crystal Super has 327% more pixels than the Quest 3 to show…. But with your 3080 you don’t get the experience that is intended with the Crystal Super. What should you do? Don’t know. It’s a lot of money. Maybe enjoy what you have, or try to get a “cheaper” second hand RTX 4090 and enjoy your Quest 3 even better. The Quest 3 gets quite an uplift going from a 3080 to a 4090. Especially since the rest of your system is good.

Bomb Fuse Selection (Nose or Nose and Tail) Does Not Work
Holbeach replied to Rolds's topic in Bugs and Problems
I came to the same conclusion on Aug 6 when I posted this: I tried more fuse combos today but they all exploded on contact. Plugs made no difference unless used N and T, when no explosion will occur. The correct use for a 5 or11 second delay tail fuse AN M116, is for very low level and the nose plug in, but it explodes on contact. The only one that provided a usable delay was nose fuse Mk 244 mod 1, (anti submarine), which gave 4 secs with switch in N/T psition. Oh well, keep plodding on. The M135 A1 and M136 A1 air burst fuse actually works! This timed nose fuse was a thing before radar alt was used. Minimum setting 5 secs. (should be 10), Never used by the Navy, but could be a fun thing to try. -

What I expected was that it recorded normally and that's it (Although the trajectory of the normal record and then drifting inexplicably, which is quite funny)
