  2. im just sharing my experience with you. my PC is highly optimized. i delet fxo, win11 always up to date, i run DDU uninstall every time there is a nvidia update. i run quad views VR. not everything is set to high though i have a beefy PC.. im usually on multiplayer and i have NO issues other than what i have posted about your dlc. i did make a multiplayer mission once that had way too many objects that cause not only my machine to studder, but who ever join the mission. it is not my PC that is the issue. but its ok, you dont want to hear is the campaign so, that it then. i been running the fam flight and learning alot. you campaign is good, other than being at the nellis spawn area at the start.
  3. Well, the FreeCam uses the dcs cockpit camera view axis to look around, clicking the cockpit are even easier than i often do with head track. Actually I have my own sticks, but I m in college right now and i can't really bring em to school.
  4. No. Unfortunately the lighting shader is invoked by the game engine code when the PRECPTNS is set to Thunderstorm in the weather setting. No way for me activate in the weather presets.
  5. The USAF jets dont use LRS mode, they have RWS, TWS, VSR, ULS. Thats it, maybe some foreign jets have LRS but not US
  6. Are the scattered t-storm presets supposed to have lightning? I'm not seeing any.

  9. Yeah I realize that. Honestly it seems just frustrating to me and not worthwhile. A basic joystick is quite inexpensive. The essential problem is that flying has an inverted Y-axis vs pointing with the mouse like you do in the clickable cockpit or for aiming.
  10. Thanks for the HU. This is really great work. Bowie
  11. It's reliable enough if you get good with it. I've had success with it as long as the SAM sites aren't too crowded. Otherwise you may find some of the Shrikes wandering off to where they can't reach because they picked up the other site first. The only slight point of frustration for me is that there isn't a seeker head that will target a Fan Song without also targeting the Range Finder for the SA-2. So, it's a bit of a luck of the draw which one the missiles will pick up. But, in general, I like to plan to use all 4 missiles for one site, 2 and 2 for the SR and TR each. Knocking out either one is a success. I usually start to pitch up for loft just within 20 miles.
  12. Assuming you're using Petrovich, it's probably an issue of him somehow not seeing the target as commanded. Any AI in a replay track is still "alive" and may not perform the same actions as they did in the original flight. Thus Petrovich doesn't see/lock on to the target during the replay, inhibiting the recorded player fire command from being executed. I've had this happen with George and Hellfires in the Apache, and Jester and Mavericks in the Phantom.
  13. Hey guys, I've had a K51 for years now, and I accidentally pinched the 5 pin cable that goes from the board to the USB-B port. I had been wiring it back together, but it's janky. I am having no luck finding a replacement cable that fits the board. Anyone know where I could get this cable?
  14. Just tonight I have had the same issue. I did the single mission "Ferry Flight" right after I got the plane and had zero problems taxiing with differential brakes and tail wheel unlocked. But the differential brakes work for about 30 seconds and then it just keeps veering incredibly frustratingly to the right. I have all the other prop warbirds and have no other such problems.
  15. No, this is not a War thunder style mouse control, it works just like a joystick where the screen's geometry represents the x and y axes.
  16. F16TestCHON.mp4 Just FYI, with the Current Hill Harm Code mod installed, the new SA-15 (CH) that is now inside of DCS does not show on the RWR of the F-16 and possibly other aircraft. Im not sure why but turning off this mod (1.5) will allow the F-16 to see it on its RWR.
  17. Tried seat 3 and seat 6. Cannot interact with the lighting control panel. The ICS panel on the opposite side works, though.
  18. Im pretty optimistic that this is going to be a good experience at the end. Did you find the G2 fit to be "unsatisfactory" and did you have to mod it? Or were you able to tolerate the out of box experience? Im pretty sure the super is going to need "modification" to some extent beyond what is included in the box to make it work for me.
  19. Yes a patch or two ago. Check out the new George functionality. You can point him at a waypoint, target or control point and then command him to search the area. Then select the target from the list of targets.
  20. Shhh, nobody tell @CommandT...
  21. I'm having the same issue on the Marianas map. It seems like if there's any wind, the Corsair wants to taxi into the wind and won't let me turn past a certain degree. Made it impossible to taxi back to the rear of the carrier to take off again.
  22. Based on the accounts of Wild Weasels who employed the Shrike, the weapon was essentially a psychological deterrent first and a site marking system second. They hoped but didn’t expect it to kill a radar. “Shrike was dumb. You could do better with a peashooter. It was only fifty percent reliable, fifty percent accurate, and when you do the probabilities on that you realize it takes a lot of them to hit the target. …We really had to line it up with the target in an almost perfect trajectory…You used Shrike as a marker most of the time.” -Kim Pepperell, from the book “Iron Hand” by Anthony Thornbourough & Frank Mormillo. Further, USAF Wild Weasels typically escorted a strike package of other aircraft , so they’d fly interference by operating between IADS sites and the strike force. If one of the IADS locked on with a SAM, the Weasels would fire a Shrike to mark the general location and the hunter-killer flight would do the rest with CBU / bombs. What does that mean for DCS? Well, employing the Shrike as a one-shot single ship kill weapon against an IADS radar sadly isn’t realistic no matter how well the player flies, especially in MP. Using it that way is , as many of us have discovered the hard way, a recipe for enduring frustration. It’s a supporting weapon used to find camouflaged sites so Someone Else could bomb them. Worse, the psychological “kill” of a SAM site battalion commander turning off his radar to avoid a Shrike visit isn’t part of DCS as a default yet, so the suppression benefit is lost also. Bottom line- if you’re flying with a team or as a flight , the Shrike makes sense as a SEAD target locating tool. Otherwise , skip it.
  23. I'm getting better at defeating the Pantsir; got one defending a BUK. It's a beast. Anecdotally every SAM system is a piece of crap, or a space ship with lasers, depending one who writes the anecdotes. At some point designers have to draw a line in the code and say 'the specs say...' Once that's done it really doesn't matter what the anecdotes are, the one I'm going up against is capable of...<insert results here>.
  24. I tested this on Syria and Germany Cold War (Ugra Media Maps) and Caucasus and Kola (non ugra media) for reference. Some static units like fireengines and fueltrucks appear invisible on ugra media maps becides beeing correctly linked to the carrier. Result on Caucasus and Kola map: The fireenigine is shown as linked to the carrier on the F10 map but is invisible on the ugra media maps. On non ugra media maps like Caucasus and Kola there is no such issue. It would be nice if you could have a look on this one, it should be easy to reproduce. I used empty missions with just the carrier and the fireengine for testing. Result on Syria and Germany CW map:
  25. What's your budget? I've always gone with Gigabyte, until this 5090 self-igniting issue. So this time an Asus Rog Strix 870E, because "military grade sht". Not cheap though.
