Not only skeptical. How about, "No chance in hades!" And I guess the new one will be released "9 months" later. And maybe by that time it will be "modular", instead of a series. Riiiiiiight. I wonder if they actually believe their own spin. My predictions: DCS:WH download final release: late April DCS:BS update patch: end of 2011 (if we're lucky!) DCS:?? early 2014 (again, seriously, if we're lucky!)3 points

We can all find enough things to do in our lives to pass the time, thank you. The point is that everyone was looking forward to the release, and it's perfectly normal to express disappointment over the delay.3 points

I canґt believe it. Another USA plane. Another module i wonґt buy. They have lot of work made it of the A10, so they will use in the future F15, F16 ED wasnґt Russian? Please, we need a russian plane!! DCS comes from FC, and FC from lomac, and lomac from Flanker!!!! We want a MIG29 or a Flanker!! Greetings2 points

Then you're doing it wrong. You're simply yanking on the stick, nothing more. Start an aileron roll at the top and put in just a little bit of pitch. No need to haul on the stick. These are precision maneuvers, not maximum-rip-off-your-head-and-make-it-part-of-the-canopy-violence maneuvers.2 points

Your friend is absolutely correct. You can not learn to fly on a flight sim. But if you are transferring from say Tornado to Typhoon, the quickest and most effective way to learn the new switchology of MFDs, avionics, weapons etc, is with a simulator, which now can operate on a PC. That is why A10A pilots use DTS:A10C to upgrade to the A10C. Before that it was sitting in the actual cockpit on the ground, with power on, and going through the written checklists until you learnt them by heart. That cost money!1 point

Ahhhh:doh: There is no future in this. People will simply stop flying. I am very sad about this and I believe that more than half a LO community shares my opinion.1 point

You refuse to support the Developers and in the same breath request another module......:music_whistling: Make no mistake - and yes, this is all supposition on my part - the day will come when there is a Russian flyable.....After all, makes marketing sense, does it not? That day might just arrive just a little bit quicker if the attitude is lost and the cause is supported in the only way we, the customer base can: To purchase the existing modules.1 point

The Su-33 isn't likely to happen anyway, and it isn't like you need it for a true carrier landing. Su-27 ... I think ED would like to do that, when the time comes.1 point

As I've mentioned in a different thread, For ED it's almost a no brainer, producing an F-16 module will put the final stamp on the death of Falcon4 on all of its variations. A mass hoarding of the Viper community will commence bringing not only many more faces but alot of money. Even the most dedicated F4 player acknowledges the high fidelity of the DCS series (Ka-50 & A-10) and this is the exact thing they are looking for. Some of them are already here for the A-10. I might be wrong but this is just my opinion. I wouldn't mind having the F-16, F-15, F-18 or even an F-4 or an F-14. Or any other fixed wing for that matter! ED continues to amaze me with their products and I will gladly spend my money on them! :)1 point

Hi guy's well I will not try to be long with this. If time was not spent on the start up clickablility of the cockpit to get airborne, how much time would be saved?(not giving a short way of doing this because this compounds the problem). I don't know but I am sure time could be picked up here for more important things. Do the basics as in FC2 and put much need resources on the MFD, combat and FM and Missels etc., development. Fc2 is fast movers and it will be a long time before we see a fast mover in DCS unless ED has a military contract. So to say FC2 does not fill a gap is incorrect. It certainly does. We always come back to ED resources, which are limited as we all have been told. The only fighter sim. ED has is FC2 older or not. Does a great job.Not fancy with clickable pit but don't sell it short. We all know how long it takes to get Falcon up in the air from ramp start and I am sure KA50 and the A10 will be no different. Not sec's. Now for god sake don't think this is a shot at ED, it is not. They have done a great job with DCS and the lockon series. I expect that will never change in coming modules but let's face it, to produce a module takes a very long time, longer if no outside contract. Understandable, they have to stay in business and god knows we don't want to lose them. You all mention A10 is out but really, it is not. It is a beta version, that the community is testing for ED. Am I wrong? Ka50 still has bug issues to address and outside contracts presents us with a long waiting period for next module what ever it will be. Could 3rd person outsourcing or even providing plug-ins for FC2 fill a much needed gap. Well only ED can answer that. No I am not asking just throwing some ideas out. ED is the company and these are their products. However it does not stop the consumer about, at least thinking of these things. Hence the threads. Ok sorry, I meant to keep it short. The end. rattler1 point

The S-300 has an awesome model as well, that doesn't mean it's going to be the next module. :)1 point

I'm sure about it! But I don't understand the sentence, it seems it says the graphics engine will only be available in this map, seems weird to me. I mean, I can understand new features available for the new map (new effects, more polys, etc) but, the whole new engine? will the sim have two engines then, one for the old map and one for the new map? x_X Or will it be a single engine with new shiny features applied only to new maps but optimizations affecting all of them? PD: language barrier for the win XD1 point

Do a search for my topic "abris scale". You'll get precise ABRIS dimensions. From there determining the size of Shkval display will be easy.1 point

Be patient. Better 2-3 or even 3-4 weeks than rushing to upload a Beta 6 that is saturated with bugs. This simulation is epic. If I were you guys, I would just concentrate for now on the simple act of flying the aircraft, using it's various navagational functions, and offensive and defensive systems operations. Read through that thick manual. Sooner or later there will eventually be an optomized final release version.1 point

Hi crunch: Nice idea, I could go for that. I don't want it to easy though. I will use FalconAf for an example: has ramp start. Well I think you will find that after a short while of waiting 10min. before you can move a/c that most Falconners either start at taxi, button on runway or in the air. what is important is the MFD clickable pit for combat. Also realistic FM once in the air.lol. I am not sure how long it takes to get the KA50 off the ground but to me this is the area that could be more easier. Does this make since?:) rattler1 point

Its like blinders on a horse. You only let people see what they need to see. If they see too much they'll be harder to control. And 1.6 billion people would make whats happening in Egypt look like a joke.1 point

We used to teach the "wifferdill" as a good re-positioning maneuver. It has all of the ideas of a chandelle followed by a slice except it is completely informal. The basic idea is to exchange airspeed for altitude, use the slower airspeed to decrease turn radius for a lower ground displacement, and then recover the airspeed by descending. The wifferdill will usually gain energy but can be flown to lose it as well. So how do you do a wifferdill? Start with a low to medium G pull to 20 to 45 degrees nose high. How high depends on how much smash you start with: low energy, low pitch and high energy high pitch. Higher pitch attitudes also tend to lose energy more than low to medium ones. Next you unload to 1 G with the wings level and wait for the aircraft slow to your target speed. You might get as low as 200 KIAS for a 10 degree pitch or need as high as 250+ KIAS for 45 degrees and lots of G in the turn. Again the higher the pitch attitude the higher the airspeed need to be when you start the roll for the next part. Roll into 90 to 135 degrees of bank and pull. This will start your nose down towards the horizon with a higher bank getting the job done quicker. The idea is to try to play the bank and G to get your nose around to the desired track with the nose about as much nose low as you used nose high. Roll out and unload wings level and let the jet accelerate. Begin the pull out at the desired altitude or airspeed and begin your re-attack. Lets put it all in short form: Wings level pull Set the desired pitch attitude Unload to 1 G max and wait (unloading to zero G will help you gain energy but you will need to use a higher pitch attitude as your nose will fall as you wait for your target airspeed) Roll into at least 90 degrees of bank and set your wings Pull, playing bank and G to bring your nose around to the desired track as your nose gets about as much nose low as it was nose high Roll, unloaded or you will drift off track, wings level Unload to 1 G max and wait (unloading to zero G will help you accelerate faster but will also cause your nose to fall which may greatly steepen your nose down pitch) Lead your recovery pull to attain the desired altitude/airspeed combination You will generally gain more energy in a wifferdill that spends the most time unloaded and lose in one that is G'ed up. You will turn faster with more G. So depending on your situation you can do a wifferdill differently. The best way to learn this thing is to go out and fly some. Start out along a straight road at a 1000' AGL or so. Beginning at the same altitude and airspeed for each try them with low pitch, low & high bank, and low G to contrast with high pitch, high and low bank, and high G. Remember bank must always be 90 degrees or more to get the nose coming down. The things to look for are: how much displacement from the road occurs, how long it takes from beginning the maneuver to returning to wings level and level flight, note how much altitude and airspeed change from beginning to end. Then pick a few combinations of pitch, bank, and G to use. It won't be long before you can vary how you do things on the fly to get the results you want. There are some tactical considerations too. IR threats in the area make using the vertical to re-attack a dicey play. Those nice hot engines against a cold sky make wonderful targets. AAA threats also gain from you climbing into the LOS. Run out a ways before wifferdilling to re-attack as a minimum. IR weapons tend to shorter range so separation mitigates the threat. In high threat environments you should just do a flat high G turn as low as possible or get above/outside of their threat envelope and bomb them to rubble.1 point
