  1. Thanks, HighmaintenanceB. As long as I'm able I will keep pushing them out. It may be slower but I will continue creating mods for DCS. Sure, I can make two versions. It will just require two models of the USS Fitzgerald. I didn't get a chance to mount the NSMs today because I was busy with the USNS Kaiser. Initially, I had the strike missiles mounted aboard the Type 23 Frigate but I removed them because they weren't installed at the time. I can update it with the NSMs. **** I have released the USNS Henry J. Kaiser T-AO-187 with liveries of the USNS Joshua Humphreys T-AO-188, USNS John Lenthall T-AO-189, and USNS Andrew J, Higgins T-AO-190. USNS Henry J. Kaiser T-AO-187 is a United States Navy Fleet Replenishment Oiler and the lead ship of her class. Her mission is to resupply U.S. Navy and allied ships at sea with fuel oil, jet fuel, lubricating oil, potable water, and dry and refrigerated goods, including food and mail. I tested the AH-64, KA-50, and the UH-1 Player aircraft onboard and the FPS was pretty good for me. I received the best FPS using the KA-50. Please enjoy every one. Unlike in the Tomcat, where click-tasks will delay voice-tasks since he only has a single action queue and hence the issue is more severe, Jesters voice phrases in the Phantom are delivered within milliseconds, as he now has multiple independent action lanes and a better task scheduling system that also includes priorities. The reason you might still get "outdated information" is due to the length of the voice phrase itself. For example, if he sees a target at 1 o clock, he will decide within milliseconds and start talking for example "enemy fishbed at one oclock". At the time of him arriving at the "one oclock" in his sentence, the target might already be elsewhere. But it was there the moment he started talking that sentence. In the Tomcat this can be much severe, as click tasks and other things can block him from starting to talk, after already deciding on the sentence. We are of course planning to further improve this throughout the early access period to get rid of the issue entirely by splitting up sentences into the words and enabling him to dynamically choose some words, such as the exact target direction, at the moment this specific word will be spoken in the sentence.

  4. Regarding target spotting, it might be worth mentioning that Jester is now, with the Phantom, following an algorithm dictacting his actual vision cone. If he is operating the radar, he is looking at the radar and not outside for example. Same when he needs to read his instruments and gauges to update his knowledge of the aircraft state, such as reading current airspeed. He will of course interrupt that every now and then to also look outside, but if you ask him for example to lock someone, he cannot at the same time spot someone outside the cockpit... You can also easily G-lock him when you pull hard turns and then he cant do much at all momentarily while his head is being pressed into for example the radar boot. Like with real Phantom WSOs, his general preference where to look when looking outside is your six. So him not spotting a target in front of you can sometimes also simply be because he is currently looking behind, while it is your job to check the front aspect. In a similar way, you cant expect him to operate the radar and do a "regular search", moving the antenna around etc, while you are in a heated dogfight. His eyes will be outside the cockpit, watching your six instead. There are a lot of factors to consider and we certainly will improve him further. If you encounter any specific odd situation, please just hand in a working track. That allows us to spot whats going on, tell you what happened and use that to possibly improve Jester or even fix bugs

  5. Today's update, Started building the shape for the Skoshi Tiger AAR Probe attachment, It was a bit tricky, as the reference schematic was not properly scaled, and in individual sections. However, I was getting creative I built the base fuel transfer pipes first, then built the Skoshi specific items on top of the pipes, Once all the pcs were shaped, I only had to assemble them and place them, From there I have to do some tweaking passes to get the shape position and size correct, then unwrap and texture them. I also decided to not have the AAR probe light enabled, as it would not be controllable by player or AI, unlike the 50 Gallon Tank lights, it would be pretty intrusive to have it on all the time. I have both general shape in DCS as Skoshi and Export, Skoshi will be on the left, and the Export will be on the right once I finish tweaking and texturing it. This would pretty much complete the Package, I decided to not do the dual VHF antennas, as I only found 1 reference image of that setup.

  7. For CSAR this would be amazing. Now that rotorwash is added, It would be incredible if smoke interacted with rotor wash vortex. Anyone heard on this, news or plans? The little details always add such immersion. I love CSAR, always hated hovering in or above the smoke and it just lays there. Or is there a mod?   15. Flew the OH-6 for the firs time today and just blown away by how easy it was to fly right off the bat! Honestly dont know what the big fuss was about with people complaining it was twitchy, but then again Ive been flying helicopters in DCS forever now so it was easier for me to predict how good it was going to fly...but man was it a dream to fly! Anyone interested in watching the track, here it is. Next, the weapons... Now, how about an MD500E Defender next?! OH6 first flight .trk

  16. Good Morning All, Yes, Beldin notified me of the great news the other day. USS Fitzgerald has been outfitted with Naval Missile Launchers and successfully launched a Naval Strike Missile. Thanks for sharing. It brings back memories. We had an amazing crew onboard. There was nothing we couldn't achieve. Most of us have kept in touch after all these years. I transferred from the USS Fitzgerald 24 years ago. So it's been quite a while. I will update the USS Fitzgerald 3d model with the new Naval Strike Missile today. Easy update. On another note, I haven't been able to work on models the way I want to. Life got in the way. I did have enough motivation to finish up the USS Henry J. Kaiser Class Oiler T-A0-187. I will finish her today because tomorrow morning I have another back procedure. Depending on the outcome I may be down but no matter what I will find time to model. It's my therapy. My advice to all of you. Please take care of your health. Get regular checkups if you can. Don't let diseases sneak up on you and take away the things you love doing. Especially doing things with your Family. Stay tuned I will release the USNS Henry J. Kaiser today.

  17. Old post but this is a much needed update. UH1 is a classic and it's really fun to play, like driving and doing maintenance of a 60 year old car. But interior is pretty outdated in details and textures and that hits the inmersion factor in VR.

  18. Hello, the last couple of weeks ive flowen the UH 1 a lot... and i noticed that the graphics are not up to date and the crew could be substantially overhauled. I thought about crew coms when the door gunner pick something up etc... And i still want to see the flechette rockets with the orange smoke when they explode. The Uh1 would definitely benefit from new Graphics Lightning and shadows... Hope this catches EDs eyes and they work on that... Thanks

  19. The exterior lights FLASH setting is not visible for other clients in multiplayer. When lights are set to FLASH, they instead appear as STEADY to other players even though they appear as FLASH from the perspective of the player setting FLASH. I have not noticed this behaviour in previous versions of the module, but I haven't specifically looked for it, either.

My game has become completely unplayable since the last 2 update, constant freezes and crashes, I use lots of unofficial Mods and to be honest if I could not use them I would not play the game in its vanilla format. Which is pretty much where I am right now, pondering other gaming options, which are not great as we all know. That's not ED problem of course, I understand that fully, but its a shame because I have enjoyed 15 years of fun with this. To be no more I fear.

  21. There's a VOR DME beacon south-east of Damascus "DAM" transmitting on 116.00MHz. That'd be what you're hearing on that frequency. In the mission editor, you can view the table of all beacons on a map under "VIEW" (at the top left) -> "BEACONS INFO".

  22. The mission should be fixed now, AI refuses to perform a simple bombing task, so had to include some workarounds that hopefully will solve the matter for good and the attacks now look better than before.

  23. Some people like to get what they paid for - an unfinished module pretty much abandoned since April with no signs of resolution AND the possibility it will never get the planned updates and expansions doesn’t cut it for many people.

  24. ^ V.1.0 was twitchy but Tobi adjusted the FM and sorted it out. Having some inputs bound that didn’t want to be also caused me problems but that was soon sorted too. As uncomplicated as it is I think this is one of our best helis, I love it. Since learning to fly this I’ve gone on to flying the Huey better, the Apache, Gazelle and Kiowa too so for me the Loach has done a World of good. Loads of fun to be had .

  27. Not an ED issue. If you send those files off to your AV provider there is pretty much a 100% chance that they'll whitelist them and the problem goes away. There are a handful of AV's that have consistent problems with DCS. If DCS had an actual virus problem it wouldn't always be the same ones picking it up and the rest not. And when those ones stop being flagged it will be because the AV whitelisted them, not because ED "fixed" (i.e. changed) them.

  31. Well, let me explain my point of view. I'm not good at flying any type of simulator, and I do NOT have a lot of hours flying the F4. I do NOT like AAR, and despite all of that, I'm able to do AAR in the F4. So... the airplane or the update are not the problem.

  35. The possibility of sling loading is completely broken. - That's probably why we still have to wait for the Chinook. In multiplayer, even the first load pulls the helicopter into the ground; in single player, the external load (not just MODs) is hooked in the wrong way round, which leads to extreme shaking and the second load blows off the tail of the helicopter.

  36. Munich, 29 November 2023 – Now it's official: The Eurofighter EK (Electronic Combat) is coming. Following the recent parliamentary approval by the German budget committee, Airbus will equip 15 German Eurofighters for electronic combat - and equip them with a transmitter location and self-protection system from Saab, as well as "AARGM" anti-radar missiles from the American company Northrop Grumman. The Eurofighter EK is to be NATO-certified by 2030 and will then replace the Tornado in the SEAD (Suppression of Enemy Air Defence) role. "Electronic warfare and reconnaissance are an important NATO requirement: current conflicts and the present security situation show how important the two capabilities are," says Airbus Defence and Space CEO Michael Schöllhorn. "In this respect, the German government's decision to include such an important capability as electronic warfare in the Eurofighter capability portfolio is an important measure. EK will add this important capability to the already broad operational spectrum of the Eurofighter while strengthening European sovereignty and autonomy." With the parliamentary approval by the Budget Committee, the Eurofighter is now officially set as the successor to the Tornado ECR (Electronic Combat/Reconnaissance). Airbus is now looking forward to the official order to integrate the selected technical solutions into the Eurofighter. The corresponding contract between Eurofighter GmbH, as prime contractor, and NETMA (NATO Eurofighter and Tornado Management Agency) is expected to be signed before the end of the year. With Saab’s transmitter location system and the Anti-Radiation Guided Missile (AARGM) from Northrop Grumman, the Eurofighter EK will be able to detect, localise and disable anti-aircraft radars. In addition, the Saab solution has jammers that improve the Eurofighter's self-protection. The Eurofighter EK also has technologies on board that were developed by small and medium-sized enterprises and a start-up. These include an AI solution that makes it possible to analyse radar data on-board and quickly determine precise self-protection measures. Airbus is currently working with the BAAINBw procurement office, the German Air Force and the Bundeswehr Aviation Office on a detailed schedule for the implementation of the selected EK solutions in 15 Eurofighters.
