We'll look into this. It was added to give the cockpit a bit more life. We may add a slider in the special options to allow users to set their preference.9 points

Thanks for doing this on Kola map, it’s a great fit and the map is certainly better than many people make it out to be (and is indeed coming together very nicely). Love flying in a fresh environment and setting. If DCS is going to expand it needs people willing to create content for something other than the same old maps over and over again. Well done. Cheers!7 points

I'm always happy to surprise people. That said, why is a "Cold War gone hot" scenario on the Kola map surprising? It’s actually a natural fit if you think about it. Just look back at classics like EF2000 or Jane’s Combat Simulations. When I choose a map, I focus on what suits the scenario best, not necessarily what is the most commonly owned or flown. And with the latest updates from Orbx, the Kola map has really started to shine—it’s evolving into a beautiful and immersive environment. Of course, everyone is free to have their own opinion. But personally, I really like it—and I believe it’s a perfect match for the setting I’m going for. One last note: developing a campaign takes several months—often a year or more. When I started this project, there was no Germany Cold War map available. But rest assured the alternate 1985 story will eventually move into Germany as well.7 points

AH! Those used to have RN skins, but some new skins were added recently and for some reason they defaulted back to the US one. Talk about a PITA...I'm going to fix these and send to Mag 3.6 points

According to the roadmap in the first post here, they have delivered all planned aerodromes and then threw in some more for free. I am also not aware of any game-breaking issues with Sinai. Sure there are bugs and plenty of room for improvement, but you're making it look like the map barely works and the devs are some scammers, which is not the case.6 points

I think that in addition to all these fixes, fixes, additions to everything, and after a long time that has passed, at least better lights are being added to all airports on the Caucasus map, at least like the ones on the Syria map. I don't want to hear that it's impossible and will never happen. The Caucasus map has been completely unjustifiably neglected for years. I would like our forum to support the updating of the Caucasus map as much as possible, before all other maps.5 points

As mentioned previously we are now looking at a summer release, current pre-order discount is still active, but will change once we get to early access. When we have a confirmed date we will try our best to get the pre-order on steam. thank you5 points

The DCS community is funny. If the color of a decal doesn't match the original, then there's something going on... But an autopilot for a warbird is ok...5 points

With the new WW2 Marianas map, it screams for a Huey refresh. I know the Huey wasnt in service then but the new map is a good vietnam alternative. Just my 2 cents.4 points

Hi guys, I find the needle wobbling on the MAP, altimeter and VSI to be pretty unrealistic and artificial. Especially on pneumatic instruments, which by definition are dampened by the length of the pneumatic lines. See here, I cannot see a single needle wobbling like that : https://youtu.be/jCOXv95kYaM?si=oTDJkFjNz1zPB2Tu I know they’re modern instruments, but the physic hasn’t changed. What are your thoughts ?4 points

I'm sure we will see some, if you are going pop by and say hi to Nineline.4 points

I suppose they could be folded or expanded depending on the state of emergency. The option to choose how to display them with the editor would be the simplest solution.4 points

It is also marketing, they want to give the best chance for there module to be sold, if they release it today and there is some important feature that are buggy or not working at all, people will complain on the forum, people will make video to say that this plane is bad, and then, even after patching all the issues, people will have fear to buy it because of it reputation, they want to avoid a bad module and it's normal. ED, are in my opinion doing the right thing, complaining about a release date is less important for them than complaining about a buggy module4 points

Well, I'm in a camp do whatever you feel that's required, but don't go E19 route. Not at all impressed with what they did on Kiowa. It's all good when you're flying solo, but as soon as there are other things around you hear that even the frigging Humwee sounds louder than KW at full throttle. So keep at it M3, take your time and polish the sounds.4 points

It’s a great touch! Just a little much, and the wrong instruments from what I’ve seen flying warbirds in real life. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk4 points

They can take their time. I rather something more polished and closer to complete then early access. I mean imagine it releases and ARU switch doesn’t work, Nav drift isn’t implemented, radar has no false targets or inaccuracies, no missile tones and voice for LA, no KMOD, autopilot as bugged as FC3, flare switch doesn’t change release program and can’t set our flare release pattern in ME, SPO-15 missing features such as PD fighters in X category until 15-20 km range where they switch to F, or how the 50/90 degree light only works at close range. What if TWS mode doesn’t automatically select most dangerous target, which would suck since HUD won’t show target speed. Or interaction between radar and IRST is simplified forcing you to relearn it when they properly implement it.4 points

A quick note of congratulations. Loving this module. it’s a bit rough but I’m sure improvements and more features are coming. bring that deck to life with paddle officers and crew. then more theatre appropriate aircraft gives me hope for the future of dcs.4 points

So I haven’t flown the Corsair, but I’ve ran it, taxiid it, and I fly a number of other warbirds in real life. This needle wobble drove me nuts when I saw it! I have never seen manifold pressure, altimeter or VSI bouncing in flight. Other gauges might wobble, notably RPM, but it’s minor. So I agree with you 100% that the wobble is way excessive. I've restructured the entire roadmap; no information has been lost. It now reads as follows: - The first post covers the first decade of (2011-2020) DCS World. - The second covers the entire period from 2021 to 2024 (and cover the second decade of DCS World. - The third is the current year on course(actualy 2025). - The fourth maintain the list the upcoming DCS World modules - The fifth, which was previously a backup post, is now a links post with some DCS Info. The third post is only temporary; each time we change years, it will be moved to the previous post, leaving the current year in place, until the decade is over. If anyone sees any issues with the Roadmap, please send me a PM so I can correct them, including official information from the ED team or third parties about functionality, modules, etc., if anyone notices it, including social media.4 points

Thank you! I tried several times thinking I must be missing something! Very much appreciate the fact that you're still supporting this module and its missions. I think that makes it a definite purchase for me when my trial is done. (And I hope anyone else who's on the fence sees this too!)3 points

The negativity of some people is astounding. There are lives outside of hobbies, guys So much to do, so many things to explore in place of endless refreshing of the forums...3 points

Yes, I thought something would come up that would appeal to everyone here. For example, "Today we're releasing the Mig manual in advance," "Matt Wagner is releasing the first Mig preview video today/this weekend,"...or "there's a new development regarding ED/RB"...3 points

From todays news This year we’re taking the upcoming DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum on the road! Head to the FlightSimExpo 2025 on the 27th to the 29th of June 2025 at the Rhode Island Convention Center and make your first stop at the WINWING booth. You’ll be able to check out a pre-release build of the Fulcrum! The aircraft will be paired with WINWING’s new grip that is meticulously modelled from our high-resolution 3-D scans of the real MiG-29A. The demo will focus on the current flight-model build and standard avionics, giving you a first impression of how the Fulcrum is shaping up. Several advanced systems such as the updated HMS, SPO-15 RWR, and engine-model upgrades are still deep in development, and not all features will be present in the show build. We look forward to sharing our progress and gathering your feedback in person! Please take advantage of the -30% pre-purchase discount on DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum before it's gone.3 points

this issue is not specific to an airframe, its an AI issue and has been reported. Post moved to AI thank you3 points

I’m pretty sure you’re one of the only people who doesn’t like the new version. If there’s an issue I’m sure you’ve reported it to Polychop, right? I am not here to advocate or sell my services, we don’t actively engage or work with a lot of DCS developers for a lot of personal and business reasons. Unless they ask. M3 can do what they want, but I won’t let someone bash or insult our work that is highly respected in the community.3 points

Video perhaps.. https://youtu.be/NihmOkIgfaQ I know this is designed for single player..no chance of it multicrew, just one ship client with 2 human operators?3 points

the problem with is that all the maps are visible all the time if you go into your kneeboard if placed in %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS\Kneeboard we really "need" a map folder per theatre under it as we do for aircraft...3 points

@Jenrick It's one thing whether you have a joystick with or without an extension, or whether you want an autopilot in a warbird in a simulation that says it has the highest standards in terms of simulation. Why no automatic engine management, or even better, no engine management at all? Just set the lever to full throttle and have fun? It's just work and distracts from flying, automatic carrier landing would also be great. Where do you start and where do you stop, why is one ok but not the other? You see so many discussions about how a flight model supposedly deviates by 1 or 2% from some tables, which is an absolute NoGo, but an autopilot is great... ridiculous. But it is already known that this autopilot should not actually be included in the release version, as it was used for development purposes. Let's see if it's still there after the next patch. As long as an (in my opinion nonsensical) autopilot can be switched off on MP servers, I don't really care, but it's still very, very funny that realism is no longer so important when it supposedly makes things easier. But I've said what I had to say and I'm closing the topic for me.3 points

There is only one version. I'm assuming you're meaning you have two shortcuts, they're not actually two different downloads/installs. The "DCS World MT" shortcut just points to the DCS\bin-mt folder v.s the DCS\bin folder which the DCS World shortcut points to. The bin-mt folder will be removed in the future. You can ignore that MT shortcut.3 points

Agreed. If you wanna bring life to this bird, may I suggest heavy grey smoke on startup and low frequency vibrations of the whole cockpit for startup and cutoff.3 points

Hi there, I'm trialing the C-101 and am stuck on training mission #2 at the point where it says to select instrument arrival/departure and set the course, heading, and speed bug. I do all of that and it will not progress beyond that. Track attached. Thanks. I can already tell, after 30 minutes, there was a lot of love put into this module! tempMission.miz_26062025_23-52.trk3 points

The Caucasus is old - people say venerable - and it is flat out the best performing map. It is also very harsh to mission creators who want to throw a bone to our helo drivers. To keep the map as performant as it is, I'm asking for a set of tiny enhancements: Please add Hospitals with helo ports for a few select cities. I'm recommending Batumi, Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Pyatigorsk, Krasnodar and Novorossiysk. Adding just 12 objects could make this entire map so much better for everyone driving a whirlybird (tbh, just adding the H ports could suffice, but adding hospital buildings would be grand).3 points

You don't (have to install the kneeboards after every DCS update) and it won't (impact the game integrity check). The best way to install kneeboards is: Aircraft Kneeboards to: %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS\Kneeboard\AIRCRAFT Maps Kneeboards to: X:\INSTALLFOLDER\DCS World\Mods\terrains\MAP\Kneeboard This way you will have the aircraft kneeboard regardless of the map and the map kneeboard regardless of the aircraft.3 points

It has been so long since our last conversation that I cannot recall whether we reached that point in our discussions. Nevertheless, please feel free to reach out if you reconsider. Furthermore, with all due respect, there is a considerable distinction between possessing access to raw recordings and being able to edit them in a manner that creates an immersive experience for the player. I've heard the excuse of having "raw professional recordings" before by many sound engineers for MSFS/DCS, and it takes more than just good microphones to reconstruct an aircraft's soundscape. A very recent and good example is our sound pack for the MSFS "Mustang". The default audio was recorded professionally; however, it lacked substantial depth and "impact". Losing detail and grit. In fact, they probably used similar recordings from the same aircraft. There is definitely a lot more to good sound engineering than just getting the volume right.3 points
