Imagine my surprise with a 4080
-
Since you're Steam Version... maybe try those command line options here from the list of games in Library, launch options.
-
Try adding --force_OpenXR
-
Had to drop resolution to 75% to get anything near flyable.
-
Had to set the date in ME to at least 1947 before I saw light. June 1944 total blackout (as expected). Flying at night in a P-51 is a horror game

Don't sweat it. In my case, I can make it look good, and performs solid 45fps but, even the slightest amount of ghosting, wobble, or blur has become unacceptable to me. Knowing I can simply run my G2 at 60Hz and get relatively perfect performance, and crank the visuals and resolution. This doesn't just apply to OpenXR (or Composite), I had same experience back when I ran via SteamVR.

For the price and functionality, the NXT Gladiator is hard to beat for your flight stick. USB https://www.vkbcontrollers.com/collections/gladiator-nxt-joysticks Throttle, I still use a Logitech X-56. USB For head tracking, you might check out FaceTrack NoIR... assuming you already have a web cam. Welcome, and happy flying.

Sorry, that was meant for your other question regarding a link to the MS Store.

I recently switched from the RX6900XT to the RTX 4080 (also threw in the 5800X3D since I was already running an AM4 board and the 5600X). As much as I liked the 6900XT, the RTX 4080 was a great improvement. Prior to, I could run at 80-85% in OpenXR Tools for WMR, CAS in OXR toolkit, mostly high in DCS options (no MSAA), terrain shadows usually off, clouds standard while running the G2 at 60Hz. 0 stutter. Now I run 100%, still CAS, same settings in DCS options except now I can pull off 2xMSAA, terrain shadows ON and high clouds with 0 stutter... again at 60Hz. With the added benefit of now being able to use fixed foveated rendering. Also worth mentioning: The particular RTX 4080 I have runs VERY cool, even with a slight OC. My previous ASRock 6900XT would easily hit close to 90* unless I removed the case side panel. It's also slightly smaller than most of the 4080 variants, and none of the RGB BS.

Somewhat... It's also a result of gamers paying scalper prices for 2 years. The manufacturers responded by simply cutting out the middle man.

The Apache jelly rotor has been eliminated as well. Just tried the 1/3 frame rate setting with OXRToolkit Unlocked. PERFECT 30 fps, buttery smooth, no artifacting. I did see a little flying Syria in the A-10C II (just on the outer cockpit frames.
-
Wow! I decided to try going back to 90Hz, 100% res, and locked at 45 in OXRToolkit. I also have OXRTool for WRM set at Limit to 1/2 Frame Rate. Holy ***, it actually works now. still experimenting.

Just grabbed it. Noticed the Res slider is gone now. And what is this feature?
-
Still mapped and working on my end.
-
Just tried it. Looks fine.
-
He's referring to the Optimizer, not necessarily the tree mod alone.
-
So with your core installed, do I not need this one?
-
Unless it's something different in the G2. In the past while playing with settings, I'd push to res to something way high and I could actually see what I can only describe as very fine honeycomb or chicken wire pattern.
-
Screen door is direct evidence you're pushing the resolution too high.
-
I've been contemplating the Crystal... but for now I'm perfectly happy with the G2. Especially since upgrading to RTX 4080.

Glad I went with the 4080 then... slapped it in, moved some sliders up. Heaven.
