  1. That’s strange! I set one up the other day I think it was a SA2 and it worked fine. Also the SA6 did as well. Try setting up the Template SAMs that are prebuilt and see if they work. If they do then it’s probably something your doing incorrectly or something. That’s how I would start to troubleshoot this. I’m not really good at making missions etc but those templates work well, at least for me! Give it a try…
  2. You can’t blame people for being pumped up & impatient for the release. We’re constantly being shown videos, pictures etc.. and tweets that The Year of The Strike Eagle etc… It’s like showing kids candy & putting it in front of them but locked in a glass container & then telling them over and over how good it taste & man when you taste this it’s like heaven ….. so I don’t blame folks for being a little impatient & wanting to get this in their hanger! Heck I can’t wait either & keep thinking we will hear something about the release date soon.
  3. Looks fantastic! Looking forward to this. I use the old version all the time so this will be a welcomed update!
  4. Here’s a few screenshots from a few days ago. We flew a night mission against a enemy airport!
  5. Looks very good. I didn’t even know these existed on F1.
  6. Here’s a few from the other nights flying session. I tried the Giraffe tactic on a couple F-14 Tomcats on Ace setting. We snuck up with radars off then popped up, tuned on the radars & locked up the F14’s. On of my wingmen we’re shot down during this but we did manage to shoot down the F14’s. I was a little surprised it worked as well as it did.
  7. Guilty of doing this as well. The strange thing is you don’t get any feedback or big warning lights etc when it occurs. At least I don’t remember any. You just loose all thrust and go into glider mode. I did happen to restart it by flying down in a steep AOA and it started back up.
  8. Totally agree
  9. I usually use High Drag bombs due to the fact that I seem to end up closer to the ground than I intend, probably from not practicing to become proficient at it. If I use a steep enough angle like 35 degrees or more I can usually eyeball it and end up hitting the target fairly good. I do need to read up on the proper way to do this though so I can get better at it. This jet is a lot of fun & I’m liking it more and more!
  10. Let me guess………hmmmmm…… Two Weeks?
  11. Thanks for the link. Yeah that was going to be my next question is do the old skins compatible with th KA50-3
  12. Very cool livery! Is that available to download? It looks fantastic…
  13. Wow, this is some really great additions for DCS! Really looks like high quality add one’s! Thank you for sharing all your work! I haven’t had a chance to download and try them out but will tomorrow for sure! I just wanted to say thank you for all your hard work on this. This is going to make ambushing enemy convoys look more realistic! I’m not even sure I know what all the units are that come with this! Again, thank you!
  14. Try this link. Not sure if it will work https://discord.gg/FbXKBHSm
  15. did this Mod get released today? If so does anyone have the download link? I couldn’t find it on the discord
  16. Very complicated stuff! I need my coffee this morning to even understand it!
  17. That’s wild, you’d think compressing the air would speed it up. Much like moving water from a larger pipe to a smaller pipe builds the pressure. Unless I’m not thinking correctly. Either way it’s amazing how all this came to be & the technology changed as advancements made. Really interesting stuff.
  18. Hey Snappy I think this is the interview. Not 100% positive this is it but it’s the only one I could find in my YT history so it might be it. Either way it’s still a great interview and she sounds like a solid pilot. Here’s the link…
  19. Oh that’s great, thank you! It’s something that I heard on the interview & for some crazy reason it just stuck in my head & I couldn’t figure out exactly what she was referring to. I had an idea but didn’t know if it was the actual fin that’s before the air intake or in between the blade and the fuselage. Anyway thank you for all the replies and the video! Great stuff! It’s kinda funny how the USSR copied it over onto their Mig thinking it had something to do with aerodynamics at high speed. I’m sure we, the US, has made similar moves! As I was watching the video, I never realized how pointy the nose is with that big pitot tube! Also I wanted to ask if you knew how the blade, not the cutting blade, moved? Does it slide out at an angle and those holes in it slow down the airflow to the engine? Or do they move differently than that. Sorry for the question I’ve never really looked at them before. I saw them and knew it slowed air at super sonic speeds to the engine but never thought much of it. It’s very interesting. Thank you again I appreciate it, B
  20. So it’s in between the body of the aircraft and the air intake! So I guess that would be on the backside of those blades? Is that right or actually on the bottom of the planes intake? That sounds like what she was referring to. She mentioned them because the Soviets copied it over to the Mig which didn’t make any sense since they were all AF jets and not on a carrier. I’ll have to look and see if I can find a picture of it. Thank you for the reply. I just thought it was interesting and couldn’t figure out what exactly she was talking about.
  21. Hello All, I was listening to a interview of a female pilot, forgive me please for I cannot remember her name or the podcast I heard her on, but she mentioned a design on the F4 that was strictly made for the US Navy that allowed the F4 to cut through some of the emergency barricade. They kept this design for the Air Force as well because it was easier than re-designing it. She mentioned this because the Russians copied it in the Mig 23 or might have been the Mig 27, thinking it had something to do with aerodynamics which she said it didn’t. Does anyone know what she was referring to? I thought it was the blades before the engine air intakes, but I’m not sure because I thought those were to assist airflow at supersonic speeds to slow the air down to assist the engine. I might be 100% wrong on that though since I don’t know very much about the F4 Phantom. I would be very interested if anyone can explain what she is talking about! I’ve looked at the F4 and the Mig23 and those blades on the side right before the air intakes are the only thing I can think of. Appreciate any help on this. Thank you, B
  22. How can you review something that’s not finished? I think a review should only be after the product is released & out of early access. Just my opinion. Stormbirds usually does good work though so I’m sure it was pretty good…
  23. Ahhhh! Good. I thought it was already released in this last patch. Thank you for clearing it up. I thought I missed a setting or something.
  24. Hey everyone, I noticed yesterday that I can’t seem to find the GBU24 anywhere in the loadout screen. Is it actually in the beta? I changed the mission set to Ground Strike, Pinpoint Strike, CAS etc., but do not see it available! I see the GBU10 but not the GBU24. Hopefully this is something easy to fix or a setting I’m missing. Thank you,

Curious how people are doing with the IHADS at night with the FLIR or Camera in one eye? It’s really difficult with it in one eye. Very hard on the eyes at least for me. Also the camera position is a bit off or low. The horizon shows a lot lower than it actually is. I think that might be from the camera position being lower than where your eyes are. I kept having to turn it off though or close my left eye & only look out of my right eye. Not sure if this is something I just need to get used to or what but it is different. I haven’t tried the setting in both eyes but I will try that tonight and see if it helps. I was just curious how other people find this. Thanks…
