  1. Holy crap, it's here!! Can't wait to see how my 6950's perform in DX11. :D
  2. Great news and Merry Christmas! Looking forward to getting my hands on all these modules once they're ready.
  3. "Imminent"! Very exciting. It was great to read on update on WWII as well!
  4. Had this in my hanger for a couple of months now with no time to learn it yet. Thanks for the overview, I'm getting excited about it again!
  5. I use a rubber kitchen drawer liner under my pedals to keep them from slipping, then replaced the wheels on my chair with regular feet. Simming is much more relaxing now that I don't have to worry about my chair or pedals moving around. :)
  6. Hope to get in on the action this time!
  7. I'll be getting the BG2 once it's back in stock. Still confused about integration, though. If I'm using plain headphones in my PC's front jack (and windows speaker settings are set to "headphones"), then I have to plug the BG2 amplifier into the front speakers port on the sound card, correct? If I have the high cut-off frequency set correctly, will this have the same effect as using 5.1 speakers and plugging the BG2 into the center/sub port?
  8. That was excellent! Can't wait to see more.
  9. New rendering engine in Septmeber!!! Woo-hoo! :D Bring on DCS 1.5!
  10. More excited about this than I was about Cliffs of Dover (if that's possible). The video looks great, and more realistic than any other sim. :D
  11. Thanks, great recap. The terrain looks incredible! The downside is, this makes me think it will take another 5 years to develop the Normandy map at the same level of detail. :(
  12. More excited about DCSW 2 now than ever. Great update! (the delay is no surprise, it's just nice to read what state the engine is in, whatever the case).
  13. +1 Would certainly love to do a Warthog campaign with Edge, since single-digit FPS keeps me from playing it now.
  14. Will our campaign progress be preserved when upgrading to version 2? I have two campaigns I can't be bothered to finish because of poor FPS. Hoping I can continue them if the upgrade improves performance.
  15. Nice post, Chuck. It's hard to put into words just how much more rewarding the complex modules are if you take time to learn them properly from the ground up. At first it will seem impossible, but then you will impress yourself. ;)
  16. Hawg is pretty extreme, lots of fun but takes a lot of practice before you can effectively prosecute a target. Guess that's why it's the most addictive!
  17. +1! Ka-50 and UH-1 campaigns are the most fun I've had in DCSW. Would gladly pay for more.
  18. More importantly, how does one become an internal tester? :D
  19. The most exciting thing about this is it will be the FIRST flight sim to support DirectX 11. All other sims are DirectX 9, so when I added a second HD 6950 in Crossfire configuration there was no improvement at all. However, in a certain DirectX 11 game my FPS more than doubled! I fully expect the same performance jump in DCSW 2.0. ;)
  20. That post about moving to DirectX 11 is very exciting (for AMD users)!
  21. Don't think my system will be able to handle that one. :(
  22. Based on what? (I hope you're right! :) ) As an AMD use I've given up on DCS World until it supports DirectX 11. Trying to land a Huey when FPS falls to single digits around airports is not my idea of fun.
  23. That's some incredible footage!
  24. Excellent update. Can't wait to fly NoE in a Huey over this new terrain!
