  1. Or use FaceTrackNoIR if you have a Webcam laying around? Or invest couple bucks for a aftermarked IR Tracker. Better suited for non VR gameplay than a 500gr+ headset on your head. I think it would be an interesting approach if you had base stations (Old CV1 Rift style / Valve Lighthouse) and use a active tracker to get your head position (gets you all the smoothness of VR Tracking without the weight). But with inside-out tracking? Nah. I think the function for Opentrack was mostly ment for early VR days where you could play any game on a virtual screen inside your VR Headset. Opentrack provided simple headtracking for this type of gaming.
  2. Yes. Desired F-16c Systems and Payloads Bottom of the list shows the 1st Person Pilot Body. There are quite a few modules with pilot bodies, not just the Hornet. Couple of modules still have them on the "Later in Early Access". Maybe the new Hornet Pilot Body will be adpapted and used on the viper as well. Who knows.
  3. Thanks for your input. I might suspect IPD as a contributor to the bad sweetspot. Sure, it has manual adjustment, but the range appears to be to small for me. Did the prescription lenses increased or decreased your sweet spot? My right eye is corrected with contact lense, but my left could use a small correction. Been through that SteamVR resolution "Minigame" many times. Just a hassle. Same as the flickering screen on loading or when the HMD loses track and gives you only a 3DOF movement range... WMR Support for DCS or SteamVR direct support for G2 would be the best solution... But will never come. Will see if there will be an Index 2.
  4. I think he means a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) to put behind the front panels.
  5. Started with the Rift CV1. Enjoyed it. Upgraded to Rift S. Enjoyed it. Jumped on the Reverb G2 hype... Stopped enjoyed it. I try throwing stuff on the G2 to make it usable (VR Cover, Counter Weight, Lenses), but the small sweetspot of the G2, the whole mess called WMR and DCS Performance is destroying any fun (for me). Back on 2D on an Ultrawide Monitor. Enjoying the fresh breeze of air and beeing able to see all the beautiful graphics of DCS. Sure, AAR and formation flight performance dropped a lot, but better than the alternative. But if you enjoy VR , awesome. PointCtrl is a great way to use your cockpit. IMHO VIACOM is overloaded, Voice Attack should be sufficient. Simshaker from Andre is awesome. And if you need a kneeboard with a drawing tablet, check out VRK.
  6. Great Job on the Android Version. Was an instant buy. Addition of Marianas Map in the future would be appreciated. This would complete the modern maps. And its a free map :). Are there any plans for additional features? Airport Charts maybe? Or simple a PDF viewer so you could swipe right and left to swtich between checklists and moving map? Either way, Thanks a lot
  7. Why do you need a similiar one? What are you looking for in LED's? You can simply use a LED Matrix (8x8) and use a Segment driver (MAX7219) for a testbed. Connect those to a Arduino via SPI and you can test your Idea before you do anything else. There are tons of wired LED available with a current limiting resistor already installed prepared for 5V. And you don't need a 10W LED... First they will drain way to much current and your camera will simply be overexposed. I'm with Yogi opinion. I still cannot see any benefit over a proven modular approach and connect everything via bus.
  8. Nope. Those are "Smart RGB". Each to be programmed from a MCU sequencly and all the time. Usage in an RGB strip or similiar. You have a 5v input, GND, Data In and Data Out. About inputs: How about 64 inputs? http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=94&products_id=300 The 32 input cap is mostly an DirectX old restriction, which only affects old software. With a Multiplexer/Matrix you could even scale up a Arduino board to more inputs. I think up to 128 Inputs would be possible.
  9. Interesting concept. Definitly outside the box. Looks like a fun little project which should be tested on the smallest scale possible... because I doubt you would save any amount of work and it will take a huge amount of time to fix all issues. And I doubt all those LED's, Wiring, Connectors, Camera, Case, Power Supplies, will be anywhere near your 30$ price tag. You don't like Arduinos? Dont use them. Grab any microcontroller, make a small PCB, decide on a BUS system and do your own modular system.
  10. You said Defender and Windows Firewall. Did you try disable both for a test run? Any other "security" tools installed (Avast, Kaspersky, Norton and any other paid or free software which might be on a computer from a system integrator (Dell, HP)? Have you checked the quarantine tab in your Defender App? Might have highlighted a DCS tool which might have been flagged before you added the exceptions? Have you tried renaming your DCS Install folder and run a fresh new installation?
  11. Are you living in an appartment block? Maybe a friendly neighbor where you could borrow their WLAN for the update? Or maybe tether your mobile phone to your computer and use this connection? Just to check if its your Internet Connection? Just make sure you are unplugging the network cable for your current modem/router/firewall/gateway or whatever .
  12. Not the router, the Internet Service Provider. You could download Skazillas Gui. There you will see status lights if your computer can reach the different update servers. I doubt its an issue, since your logs showed a connection to the server in Switzerland. Well, im sure Flappie can fix it via Discord. If you get stuck without a solution, feel free to send a PM/DM.
  13. Just two thoughts. In the first Log you provided DCS was installed on C:\. On the last report it's installed on G:\? Do you have multiple installation (maybe old unused installations or some wierd virtual links for saving some space on a SSD?). Do you have a DCS Tech Savvy friend who might could take a look at your installation of DCS via a remote tool? Did you try Skazilla's Updater GUI? While it starts the same updater, you can see all available servers on a quick glance. Your ISP / Router Config might block some Servers from Russia?
  14. Just contact Andrea via info@simgears.com Very responsive.
  15. Hornet or Tomcat? Did you try the radio command under Ground Crew -> Salute
  16. Sure you can. If you using a Thrustmaster Grip, it will work as a button. If you got a Virpil Grip, its an analog axis.
  17. It worked last wednesday (so pre Update). Two Hornets (players), taxi to the Cat 2/3, both were marshalled and hooked up. Was a dedicated server which was just restarted. I hope ED can find the issue and fix it...
  18. I love the setup. I agree with agrasyuk. Get a Virpil Base or a RealSimulator (in case you are mostly sitting in a Viper) and mount that base to the front of your armrest. This way, the joystick would be positioned lower and probably be more comfortable. Otherwise awesome. If I could find a way to use a low centermounted joystick, the seat would be perfect.
  19. I agree. ED will need a .lua file for their DTC variant anyway, so releasing this as soon as possible would be a nice stopgap until they finish their DTC and Mission Planner (2022-2023?). I use CombatFlite, so this would be awesome. But if the possibility is availabe, I'm sure there will be enough incentive for some other freeware tools beeing created.
  20. To fix the 0x8007000d error... Go to Mixed Reality Settings in Windows and uninstall WMR. Update Windows and reinstall it. Fixed the issue for me. Apparently not a full uninstall of WMR is needed: https://www.reddit.com/r/WindowsMR/comments/mr9g45/cumulative_win_10_update_broken_by_wmr_again/
  21. I think it would be a great stopgap to be able to plot out a flightplan in the F10 and import it into the viper/hornet etc, with the limitation that this has to be done on the ground. Simply because we are still missing the mission planner for MP flights. Additionally I would appreciate an option to import txt coordinates to use waypoints out of CombatFlite. Typing in coordinates prepared on a Mission Data Card is simple and quick, but having to switch to Laggy F10 all the time is just stupid. Especially in VR.
  22. At leasts it's fixed internally. (Source). Let's hope for a hotfix tomorrow.
  23. Well, its fixed internally. That's good news. Any chance you could tag the bug report topic with "fixed internally"? Many thanks.
  24. Excellent kneeboards. Are other planes planned as well?
  25. +1. Get rid of that Mig. But you do know that you can change this yourself with some LUA lines or simply by downloading a mod?
