Dcs a10c not recognizing x-56 hotas
Tone71 replied to BlacleyCole's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I agree with feefifofum, better off binding to your liking from scratch. Make sure you're setting controls up under A10-C Sim and not A10-C Game too. -
I remember when games came on cassette tapes and could take up to half hour to load (looking at you Gauntlet on the Atari 800XL), now we can't even wait a few seconds to press Enter?

I came here looking for a sticky thread on AV-8B updates, instead I find a thread on AV-8B update sticky... :)

If you're having gamma issues and you've upgraded instead of fresh install, try deleting the contents of the fxo and metashaders folders in your Saved Games /DCS folder. I upgraded and was experiencing weird contrast and lighting that didn't look right and had to set gamma to 1.7; after deleting those folders the game is beautiful and I've had to raise gamma to 2.2.

Same as most, just over 100GB. Considering the latest Doom was 80GB and GTA V not far behind that, I think it's pretty good going for 3 detailed maps and multiple detailed aircraft.

I have to agree, looks about right to me too.

Will Memory usage issues be addressed in the next patch?
Tone71 replied to Mods-o_joy's topic in General Bugs
You're going to have to be more specific. What memory issues? What do you mean by "botched launch break it all"? And you appear to have forgotten to quote your specs. -
Please search before posting. This is a very, very, very old and well known issue, with numerous posts made about it. The current system of recording is not the best and replays will often deviate slightly from what actually happened; think butterfly effect.

DS works fine for me.

No probs. If you want a more permanent solution go to [username]/Saved Games/DCS/Config/Views and open SnapViews.lua in Notepad++. The last section for each aircraft is called Default or Pilot (something like that, not at game atm); change the FOV line here to set the default for that aircraft. I have a 21:9 Ultrawide screen and have mine set to 110.

Same here. Everything set to High, Deferred Shading and Cockpit GI on, Trees at 100%, no DoF or MSAA; very smooth, great frame rate and no tree pop up that I can see. More than happy with performance and looks stunning. If you pause the game and go into options you can actually move the Tree % slider and see the tree visibility distance change.

How to adjust v2.5 trees visibility?
Tone71 replied to msalama's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
After going back and checking mine actually fade in, a good distance away too, no noticeable pop up (talking Caucasus here, not tried Normandy yet). -

I see, you want to satisfy your need for even more trees! Not looked into this yet and tbh haven't really noticed the cut off distance of the trees (bet I will now!). Will have a look too and post here if I find anything. -

Isn't there now a trees visibility slider? Put it up to 100%. -
Thanks ED for all of the hard work and putting up with our impatience! :) And thanks QuiGon for the early heads up. I'm on the road to 2.5 goodness. :joystick:

I really don't think that fictional maps would "completely ruin" the DCS concept of realism, after all you'd still be flying the multiple highly detailed combat aircraft, only the ground beneath you wouldn't be based on a real world location; it would still look great though! I also believe that the point of making fictional maps, or at least suggesting it, is that they would be quicker/cheaper to make than their realistic, true to life counterparts.
-
This, for me. I love the maps we have, and appreciate the time and effort that goes into creating them but I've never flown over the Caucasus region in real life, or Nevada, or even Normandy, they could all be fictional maps and I wouldn't know any different. (Did grow up on the Isle of Wight though and the Normandy map representation of that is pretty poor! :) ). So, yes, I would probably pay for fictional maps.

What about: Tom Petty - Learning to Fly Bon Jovi - Complicated Savage Garden - Crash and Burn

No, I agree with you, they do start to look a bit "samey"... but then I agree with this too. :)

As Holton181 suggested, make sure you centre your stick as quickly as possible after trimming. If you push nose down, for example by 10 degrees, then trim but don't centre your stick what is happening is that you are now adding an additional 10 degrees to the "trimmed" position (i.e your joysticks centre).

Seriously? Hours? Something's wrong but I'm not sure it's the grass... :joystick:
