  1. I was tempted to purchase it this morning when I saw that it was in pre order but then I remembered that I need to see how 2.5 is going to work on my pooter first. I don't have a high end rig and am a little worried about how 2.5 will run on it, so I'll buy it as soon as I find out how 2.5 runs. If it doesn't do well.......there's no reason to drop any more $$$ into it.
  2. Please correct me if I am wrong here......Isn't 2.5 suppose to be released on 18 Jan? Thus....7 days until it's release (if all goes to plan). Not trying to start a wide spread frenzy or anything.......OK, so I am. Am I wrong here?
  3. Yes....I could find no connection between the two occurrences so I assumed it was coincidence. Just made the comment. This did not happen in 1.5, it was in 2.0. I never fly the 1.5 map. Oh......but it is up to date by the way.
  4. I noticed this issue today. I accidentally hit F9 and it just went away. Very strange........
  5. All I can say is: I loves my prop wash back in the Stang!!!! Thanks for that one ED. I love the new engine sounds, new gun sounds, and the overall improvements. Sith.....I hate to differ on this so I'll just downgrade the God aweful to just plain terrible. When I'm looking at my ground targets (especially the ones shooting at me) and everything turns black for several seconds because of the canopy, it's pretty terrible. I do see the effect they're going for and to it's merit, it would be pretty cool if they perfected it. But you said it's being looked into so I'm cool with it. Everything else is great! Thanks a lot ED. Can't wait till the 18th or whatever.
  6. I enjoy it. Looks great. Flies well. The few bugs that I have encountered since I've owned it were fixed quickly or are not very problematic. I would recommend this module to anyone.
  7. Unanswerable question.
  8. As of late, a little blue chat window seems to appear whenever I visit the ED home page. It looks rather odd and out of place. The first time I saw it, a window appeared and I was asked what I needed or something like that. Thinking that it was malware, or some kind of hack, I replied with a nasty response and disposed of the chat. Now....that suspicious blue chat prompt is there every time I visit the ED home page. Never any other place I go on the internet. Did ED implement some kind of support chat? If so.....they might have had the courtesy to share this information with us. If they did......I must have missed that meeting.
  9. 2.2 has a 2 at the end and 2.5 has a 5 at the end. This is all that any of us know at this point.
  10. Yes.....Always frustrating. This would be a great thing to see fixed ASAP
  11. That's kind of what I was thinking. I was confused as to why this thread was ever written. IMO.....with the Yak, we'll have a complete set of trainers.
  12. Actually......That's a really good point. And probably the best argument for civil AC.
  13. That's exactly what I was thinking when I checked it out yesterday. Awesome update!!! Thanks all of the ED team for this. You guys made my year.....................:smilewink: Greetings from Tucson by the way, I didn't know that you were in Phoenix.
  14. Oddly enough, this is an issue that I have started having after last update also. I have been flying this chopper from day one and have gone over everything but it just doesn't stay on. Hmm......
  15. Oh wow!!! What a bunch of sticks in the mud!!! I love those things. They're like Lay's potato chips......you can't break just one!
  16. Whatever happened to the Christmas motive on the forums? You know.....smashing light bulbs and all. If getting 2.5 out is taking priority and that's what's keeping our Christmas deco from making it's yearly appearance.......Well then bah humbug! Skip Christmas altogether and bring on the UPDATE!!!!! :music_whistling: :music_whistling: :music_whistling:
  17. You got to admit thought, it was a pretty cool looking plane. I always thought that it looked like it's name. Not just because of the color, it just looked kind of ominous.
  18. I read somewhere that pulling back locks the tail wheel and even saw it in an instructional video from WWII on the Spitfire. I found out the hard way that this is not the case with our version.
  19. All very interesting stuff. ED must have been taking it harder than we on the forums then. At any rate, I feel like we're all on a roller coaster that's just about to the peak of the first drop. If indeed we do get 2.5 in a few weeks, it's gonna be one intense ride. I'm looking forward to it. I know that there will be some great stuff and as is the nature of this software, some disappointments. All I can say is that I have my seat belt fastened, and I'm holding on to the safety bar and looking forward to the ride. Been waitin on this for what seems like eternity.
  20. I remember that it was about this time last year when we were all coming to terms with not getting 2.5 by Christmas. It was a total bummer for everyone. At that time, no one ever thought that it would be a whole year before we saw it's release. They were speculating sometime mid year then. I think I'll probably wait to download the new maps until we have a good grip on the ins and outs of it. None the less......it's great to see it all starting to come together.
  21. Now I just have to pray that my modest, semi outdated system will run it smoothly.
  22. MH-6 Little bird or Blackhawk would be great!!
  23. Well......I would have to disagree on some of this. Why do I need it? I mean, I did purchase it and have no complaints whatsoever about the cost of it. But why do I need it? I need air, water, food, but the assets pack is by no means a need thing. Not even in DCS. As far as the video card remark. I understand that people are passionate about their hobbies. I feel a certain amount of love for virtual flying. But several years ago I purchased my video card for around $400. At the time it was considered kind of pricey. I remember thinking that this stuff was getting a little out of hand in the $$$ dept. Over time my computer and card will become obsolete. I see this on the horizon probably sooner than I would like to think. After looking at prices of video cards and PC's, DCS will most probably go by the wayside in the near to intermediate future. I am not willing to shell out that kind of money for games. It's just not something that I am willing to do. So even though I do not mind forking over money for modules and maps that I like, there comes a point where enough is enough. I know through conversations with other casual DCS fliers that this is a real issue with a fair number of people who come here.

    Yak-52B?

Wow.....Momma says "DCS is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get". I have to admit that I am dumbfounded by this news. Not really sure what to make of it. So random, and out of nowhere. I looked at it and thought: "Do I really want this thing?" Well.....Maybe. Still kind of on the fence. But to add perspective here. I see lots -0- complaints in this thread. I get it. But I know plenty of people (myself included) who have no interest in the F-18, Viggen, or the AV-8B. It's no big deal, I just have no interest in any of these planes. But I don't go to threads about them and point out that I would rather have this or that, and ED needs to fix this that or the other before I'll purchase them. I just don't really pay attention to them. It's no skin off of my nose if ED puts out a box kite sim. I simply won't buy it if it doesn't tickle my fancy. Although I was taken by surprise by the Yak, I will be much more likely to purchase it then say the F-14. Why??? Because I'm more into the actual hands on flying than complex combat systems and the like. Does that make me wrong? Am I crazy for having this preference? No more than anyone else who may appreciate advanced systems, or even pulling strings on a kite sim. Does it make ED wrong for releasing the module? It would seem that many people think so. But the reality is that ED has announced the release of some great planes coming up. Many of which aren't my cup of tea. But that doesn't mean that I need to tell them how to run their business, or complain about what I don't have. My 7 year old does that. When I go out and buy him a cool Lego set, he'll complain that he doesn't have the next better set. I usually remove the set from his room for a while for not appreciating what he has. Maybe we should all just appreciate that we have a place to go where we can enjoy all of this cool stuff and chat with people who have common interests. There is plenty in DCS for everyone who comes here. If this plane or that isn't your cup of tea, play around with the ones that are and just ignore the ones that you don't. It's pretty simple really. I for one appreciate that DCS is putting out the Yak. I also appreciate the Hornet even if I won't purchase it. So thanks ED for another cool module to fill the virtual skies!!!
  25. ??????? Medium bomber? Wow....I never thought of the P-38 as a medium bomber.
