  1. You trim to be on-speed in level flight, which is a function of the aircraft weight and angle of attack. Therefore, different landing weights will have different trim to always have a constant angle of attack (on-speed). This is achieved by trimming the velocity vector to be in the middle of the landing bracket, which gives you optimum aoa in landing configuration. You then control your rate of descent with power (throttle up/down). Hope that helps. Cheers! [emoji1634] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  2. Yes, I too have noticed this. I think the deck crew believe there is not enough wing clearance (there is) when a Tomcat is connected. I have parked on the Jet Blast Deflector in a Hornet with wings spread and a Tomcat next to me is locked into the shuttle, the crew did nothing. As soon as the Tomcat launched, the crew started working as normal. Cheers! [emoji1634] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  3. It looks like the seeker has not picked up a 1688 laser spot. On the left DDI, that "X" should be a solid square, which means it can see a laser spot with the correct frequency. Are you self-lasing, or is the target being lased by someone else? Are they using 1688? Cheers! [emoji1634] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  4. Lovely string of pearls for Case III arrival.
  5. Also, make sure you press the FCS reset button, this will ensure correct wing sweep. The button is down and right from the gear lever (sorry, not at pc at the moment) Cheers! [emoji1634] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  6. Ok thanks for the clarification [emoji106] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  7. I believe the plan is to overhaul all ATC and AI etc, but it is low priority at the moment. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  8. Yeah, I think that is just a DCS coding AI'ism. There is not much you can do about it, as the AI must enter an "approach phase" when passing a certain position from the ship. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  9. Just before you commence your left turn, use the "Kiss off" command in the radio menu. The AI wingman will then space themself correctly. Usually when I trap and stop, the AI has just hit the groove, so you have to clear the landing zone fairly quickly. Cheers! [emoji1634] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  10. Ok thanks Miguel, I'll try that out tonight. Cheers! [emoji1634] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  11. No, I didn't use either the manager or OvGME programs. I just copy and pasted the files into the appropriate directory under .../SavedGames/mods/tech/DCE/..., then changed the path.bat to match (ie the old manual way). I have never used OvGME and can't get the manager program to work properly so I just do it manually. Regards, [emoji1634] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  12. Hey @PB0_CEF, I just tried to run FirstMission of the Iran-Iraq Tiger Campaign (just downloaded from ED) for single player and received this error message. Installation paths are correct. Many thanks,
  13. I believe when the aircraft is in theatre it has a surveyed map uploaded to it, like the DTS (digital terrain system??) in the A-10C. So for a given lat/long, elevation is xxx. This is all integrated and used by the TPOD. Cheers! [emoji1634] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  14. What did you do Sobe? Cheers! [emoji1634] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  15. Yes there is a slew axis binding. I have bound x and y to the warthog throttle mini-stick to slew the radar bars around. IIRC slew only works on the shorter range settings. The bindings are called: AN/APQ-159 Radar TDC Button - Azimuth AN/APQ-159 Radar TDC Button - Range They are under the Axis Commands drop down menu. I am running latest Open-beta, Cheers! 16. Could this possibly be contibuting to the crashes? Seems a fairly drastic change in the software/coding. Cheers! [emoji1634] Edit: The part about metahaders2 possibly being written to temp then dumped. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  17. Which can't be done effectively in single player offline missions unless there is good AI scripting. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  18. Hey folks, just to confirm, to use DCE Manager tool, do you have to use ovgme? I don't use ovgme and get an error when trying to install. It seems it requires the ovgme field populated. Cheers! [emoji1634] Edit: Please disregard, the manager did install correctly. Cheers!
  19. Beautiful work Helles. Cheers! [emoji1634] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  20. Yes, I think being an older "steam driven" aircraft, the gyro will topple or accumulate inaccuracies, especially after manoeuvring. So after a while of straight and level flying, it should right itself, or you can do a HARS "fast erect". Cheers! [emoji1634] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  21. Hey@pieroboy99, glad this has worked for you. Many thanks, [emoji1634] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  22. @PB0_CEF , hey CEF, playing latest F-14B Crisis in the Gulf, I noticed all of the anti-ship strike aircraft launch their Harpoons from east of the Oman peninsula on low profile at targets on the west side. Most, if not all Harpoons just fly into the terrain, for information. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  23. I think when you are in the pilot seat, set Jester to "Inactive" using the UI wheel. Then you can switch back and forward as required. As soon as you make him active again, he will change everything back to his AI behaviour. Cheers! [emoji1634] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  24. Sweet!!!!! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  25. Ok, all good. Would be good to discover who did the S-2, then add a RAN Sea King to complete the Air Wing. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
