  1. Might be lag related. I noticed that any lagspike can damage or outright destroy your aircraft. Happens if there is network lag or when one of the players' games freezes for a moment even if it's only a minor freeze.
  2. In the rear seat there is a switch on the left side that let's you control which EGT gauge (front or back) is active. It's not a bug.
  3. Well I tried to take off with full nose down trim and let's just say I'm not doing it again. I think a short track showing the problem is in order.
  4. This sounds like an error on your part. Maybe your setup is wrong or you mixed up nose down with nose up as frumpy mentioned because I can't reproduce this. For me it is incredibly uncomfortable to take off with full nose down trim because I need to pull A LOT to lift the nose. Even in neutral trim I need quite a bit of backpressure to get the Albatros off the ground at its normal take off speed, however with take off trim I only need a light pull on the stick to lift off.
  5. I had a blast today, defended Beslan in with 2 and later with 3 F-15s. Before the server went down the first time I ended with one kill one death, once it was back up I got three kills but sadly after rtb and rearm it went down again when I just got back in the air. It's good to be back anyway
  7. Glad to be of service :) I'm really excited about the L-39C. It's a beautiful aircraft and it handles very well, although it is a bit underpowered. The training aspect is very appealing to me, plus it is nice to be able to just relax and enjoy the ride while you let the other player take controls. It has replaced the MiG-21Bis as the most pleasant surprise in the category 'I only bought it because it's the first DCS Module featuring X'. I had no interest in the aircraft on its own - now I actually like it a lot. Of course multicrew is a big factor here but I actually like the L-39C itself.
  8. You do have to bind the option to take controls in the options menu, it's under flight controls IIRC. The most important thing is that there can't be any network lag. This can damage or even destroy the aircraft. Other than that I haven't noticed any issues. Even the nav lights not being synched seemed to be a fluke. It was working correctly just now. One player can operate gear and flaps while the other player flies. Only the instructor appeears to be able to release controls, regardless on how you set up control priority in the editor. There are four options in the editor Instructor Priority: The IP can always take control without asking, the student has to ask to get control back and the IP has to accept or release the controls to the player. Pilot Priority: The pilot can always take control at any time, the IP has to request controls. The Pilot can not release controls to the IP Always ask: The player currently in control of the aircraft always has to be asked to get control. Equal control: Both players can take control at will anytime they want. Hope that helps, -Derby
  9. I have to revise that bit about the nav lights. I just did another test and it seems to be synched! I set it to instructor priority, which means as an instructor I can take controls without asking anytime I want. I noticed that you only can release controls from the instructor seat, the pilot in the front can't release them to the instructor, the instructor has to ask for or take control depending on how you set the aircraft up. I guess it makes sense since you should be able to just take control as the instructor. And yes you can operate landing gear and flaps while the other player flies and it is properly synched. Right in the beginning of the video while I'm taxiing the player in the front seat lowers flaps to take off position. The EGT gauge only works for one cockpit at a time. I actually think that is the correct behaviour since there is a switch in the rear cockpit where you can set EGT to front or back seat. All I can say that I'm loving this module right now. It just makes me want to have working multicrew in the TF-51D more, so I can just take some friends who are new to or unsure about DCS for a ride. I think making the TF-51D multicrew would be an amazing tool to bring new players into the game! But maybe that's just me^^
  11. Not really, just some minor things. For example Nav lights and landing lights don't appear to be synchronized yet and you absolutely have to avoid lag. It can wreck your aircraft with multicrew. Apart from that it is very smooth and works extremely well. As far as I can tell everything that needs to be synched between front and back for an enjoyable experience is working. It is an amazing feature. I'm very much looking forward to other multicrew aircraft. I'll probably add the C-101 to my collection once the EFM and Multicrew are in so I can complement the L-39C with a western multicrew Trainer. All I can say is that Leatherneck can bring on the F-14 Tomcat. That thing is gonna be amazing in MP
  12. Those are fantastic droopy! Some of mine from this weekend, 2.0.1. Patch:
  13. Same Problem here. To answer your question Zeus: #1: Doesn't really matter #2: Issue is present regardless of setting. #3: Reproduce like this: Lean forward then lean to one side and turn your head back left/right depending on wether you leaned left or right.
  15. Demonstrating the Multicrew feature, a bit of loose formation flying and then fighting it out over Las Vegas Video is 99% in German:
  16. In my experience it's completely fine to run the engine at 3000/61 in DCS as long as the temperatures are within limits. Meaning the engine can't be too hot or too cold. Both will damage the engine at some point regardless of its settings but especially if you're running a cold or hot engine at 3000RPM/61'' and you don't pick up some speed ASAP when it gets too hot and fail to reduce MaP. I know some players like to fight at 2800RPM so 2700/61'' should work as well but I haven't run any tests in that regard, however I do know that if you reduce RPM to cruise settings and stay at a high MaP it will wreck your engine rather quickly I've flown ~2-3h Coop-Missions in the Mustang in the past - some involving bombing an airfield and then defending against german fighters on the way home and never really run into engine problems if I didn't take damage. I remember one in particular mission where we took off with 100% fuel plus 2xbombs, then climbed to 20000ft maintaining around 200mph IAS @2700/46. Then cut back to maximum cruise settings emptying the fuselage tank until we encountered FLAK. We then went back to max continuous. For the attack we used 3000RPM to get the most air resistance from the prop disc during the dives and plenty of power to climb out again. The attack on the airfield itself lasted about 5min max but we then fought some Doras for another 10-15min before finally flying back.
  17. Synchronisation is mostly working in DCS 2.0.1 right now. 1.5.3 should be out this friday which should also fix the synchronisation issues. So far the only thing we noticed was that nav lights aren't synchronized and that the student pilot has to be sitting in the aircraft first. If you accept someone as backseater when you're still on the briefing screen synchronisation is broken. Flaps work, landding gear works, switching controls is flawless. It's a lot of fun to fly around with someone.
  18. Same Problem here. I get a slideshow in 2.0.1 if there is another MiG-21Bis in close proximity to me.
  19. There you go. Always decrease MaP first, then decrease RPM and when you need more power increase RPM first then increase MaP.
  20. Are you by any chance lowering RPM before you lower MaP or even leaving MaP at 61''? Because doing that will inevitably lead to a dead engine. Also, under normal operating conditions you shouldn't need to touch your radiators after take off. An engine that's too cold tends to seize as well and normally, if the temperatures got a bit high during take off, they drop pretty quickly at max continuous settings (2700RPM/46''MaP) once you build up some speed.
  21. Of course. You can already take rides in the backseat with another player flying - it's been this way since release. But there were always problems with synchronization. For example: If the player controlling the aircraft puts the landing gear down the other player won't see that and vice versa.
  22. It's already working, well kinda. Controls aren't synchronized properly in the current versions (2.0 & 1.5). I'm looking forward to testing it out tonight
  23. The TM HOTAS Warthog is a great joystick for jets but not so great for helicopters due to its big heavy spring. At least not without modifications to the stick
