This would be all right for me. BOS works this way and nobody complains there. License checking spends very little of bandwidth so no worries about incising internet connection bills. Offline play in case of internet inaccessibility could be solved with 'Borrow license' system. Autodesk have similar solution for network licensing. If everything else stays the same, 3 activations are more then enough for me because they reset them after certain amount of time. I never deactivate modules but every time I install my activation count goes from 10 to 9.

Yes, start buying directly from ED. It is the best way. If you are new to flight sim I suggest you to buy F-15 or Su-27 first. They are not expensive and very fun to fly. If you found this hobby attractive to you, and want more depth then you can proceed on A-10C or some other high fidelity plane while Spring sale. I suggested you buying A-10C because it is one of the most mature module... and you can buy TM Warthog to have 1-1 controls. Good luck!

You've probably damage your own plane. I'm surprised they didn't fix the problem so far. It shouldn't be so hard.

Of course, it is doable to model dual seat plane so one player can fly it. But jumping from one seat to another and using autopilot or some kind of AI is fidelity compromise. I believe it could be done at Flaming Cliffs fidelity level, but I think that ED is aiming on high fidelity for future DCS planes. On the other hand we have multi crew Huey already, so everything is possible. Maybe they decide to create dual seat plane in the same way. If ED decides to create such plane I'm voting for F-14 :). For me, and my free time that I have for DCS, it has enough planes already. I would be happy to see more investment in content. For instance Warthog has great training missions. Why all other modules doesn't keep the same standard? If somebody decide to create similar or better training or some other kind of missions I would buy them too. There is one third party project - Maple Flag Missions, and it is great but I would like to see something more interactive, live and less script.

Hi Jeff, You mention F-4 Phantom. Indeed many of us would like to see it modeled in DCS, but the problem lays is social reason. If modeled properly it would require two pilots for combat missions. One pilot is not enough because at the time it was overwhelming for one pilot to manage all systems in the combat. So how many users of DCS has partner pilot to fly with him regularly. Not much I guess. So all dual seat planes where both pilots are required to fly the plane are automatically rejected. This is just guessing but I think there is some true here.

Hm. It is really short beta period then. :)

My apology if I miss something mentioned before but I have one question. I think that I had latest DCS World update installed. When I saw that new update is announced, I run DCS World update for every case. Not beta. Anyhow, I expected, nothing will happen since I didn't run DCS World Beta update, but the update download has started, and it is huge! It has about 3700 MB !? What's going on? Did I miss something?

Maybe you could use little shorter extension? I also use ext of about 10cm and thinking to get the second one but little shorter. I've read somewhere that 7.5 cm is perfect for planes, 15cm for helicopters and 10cm is trade off on both sides.

I think that pressure on ball joint and o ring will increase. In that manner, possibly your grease could sooner slip away. Lack of grease and increased preassure could also increase wear, indeed. But I'm not sure if this could evolve in serious problem. Maybe your oring will die sooner. Anyway, don't forget to lube your stick regulary :)
-
For some time I'm researching greases that could be used for Warthog. This grease is good but it is only NLGI class #1. It means that it is thinner than NLGI class #2. Warthog has pressured ball joint that must be greased well. The thinner grease is, sooner will leak out of the joint. So I suppose that you will have to regrease it more often. I have used Molykote 44M which is #2 grade so it should be thicker then EM-30L and last for longer period of time. It works well for me. Link on eBay item is above, in my previous post.

After many months of Warthog rodeo, finally solved sticking issue with this 10cm extension http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/2042-selling-thrustmaster-warthog-extensions/ and Molykote 44M grease http://www.ebay.com/itm/280573844554?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT (I ordered exactly this item) Hempstead, thank you for your advice. I will contact you for additional details about buying the ring. I'm now happy with my Warthog now and how it performs although I have one more problem from the beginning - two switches are not registering contact every time -tms up and speed brake forward position. TM support wants video to demonstrate the issue, but didn't have free time to do that. If somebody knows product model of those switches I will be grateful for for sharing that information with me.

Indeed. Very interesting. I would like to try that...but first have to learn to fly MiG-21 :)

I nominate Blu3wolf. Thx.

View won't stop rolling upwards (DCS Black Shark 1)
marluk replied to Lampdude's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
By default 'View' controls could be assigned to some arbitrary buttons on the game controller. Therefore It can happen that button on controller is always pressed, so the effect would be like you described. I have similar problem when using default View mappings with TM Warthog if I don't fix this while assigning controls. Try to check 'View' controls mappings in Options. Probably you need to remove some default View control mappings from your game controller device in order to work properly. Hope this helps. -
Good question. I would like that also.

No they don't need to rewrite it. It is 1:1 conversion. The same language, just different letters. You know, in Serbia both types of letters are official. So, this is not big deal.
-
Thank you very much! I was pleasantly surprised to see Serbian version of the manual. Anyhow, I read Cyrillic, although Latin letters are easier for me. It would be great if we can get both versions of Serbian manual. Cyrillic and Latin. This should be very easy to do. Thanks.

If Leatherneck does not expand the team, I assume next aircraft could be MiG-29. Novak served as pilot in JNA. Beside MiG-21 the army had MiG-29 also. Actually, I'm wondering if he had some experience on other planes beside MiG-21. If he is willing to share short flying biography it would be interesting to read. I believe that LN will announce future development shortly after MiG-21 release.

Thank you for video. I love this aircraft more and more as release day is approaching. :)

It would be great if it is possible.

Hehe, Definitely!

Congrats Cobra! Great news! Have you prepared enough MiG-21 copies for sale? Hope you are ;).

Recommend a high fidelity supersonic jet
marluk replied to Vinny002's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
That means it could come any day from now on. I'm checking news every day. Sometimes more than once :).
