This is not a bug nor it is HB issue, F-14A model works perfectly fine for me, and others that dont use mods. So if you want to use mods go ask the modmaker to make it compatible with official F-14A module release.

PTU logic doesn't work and cross-bleed start impossible.
Golo replied to Skysurfer's topic in Bugs and Problems
I have no idea if it affect bleeds, but NATOPS says the bidirectional pump is inoperative with external power connected. -
Shoulnd there be engine RPM and/or ITT indication change asociated with operating MCB switch? Because +- 3000lbs of power change (gain if closed/loss if opened) per engine is not trivial amount, I assume.

Just a question. Are you sure you disconnected external power after starting R engine? Because that pump is not operating with connected external power. Might be the issue. -
And why are you complaining here, HB cant anticipate what mods you do have personally installed in DCS, If you want compatibility go ask the mod makers to make the mods compatible with official 3rd party module release.

Cant see it from normal in cockpit position either.

Human RIO can manualy deselect ASH on CAP and do full alignment.

Yea what I would not give for Heatblurs carrier capable F-4. Come on Heatblur, its a two seater (pilot/rio), two engine, carrier capable, state of the art (for its time) radar, with longest range BVR missiles (for its time), ring any bells? So many similarities with F-14 you can use the tools invented for F-14, like jester, multicrew implementation, radar/avionic systems... it should be no brainer to develop, please. Well anyway this wasnt ment to be a wishlist, I agree with OP about ASH/full alignment option for jester.

When would you use the emergency disconnect paddle on the stick?
Golo replied to titanium's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Preliminary should be the clue here. For the F-14A 01-F14AAA-1 Change 1 1997 clearly states that autopilot emergency disengage switch disengages all autopilot functions, DLC, Releases all autopilot switches, disengages pitch and roll servos and causes pitch and roll SAS switches to move to OFF position. For the F-14B with DFCS 01-F14AAP-1 2001 states autopilot emergency disengage switch disengages all autopilot functions, DLC, it does not disengage roll and pitch SAS, it has to be done manually. Then again I belive our F-14B does not include DFCS. -

Golo replied to titanium's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
You have all the control authority you need in F-14 to brake it in half, no point even thinking about the paddle. Only thing I would use it to disconnect AP/SAS is if it had malfunction and did something unexpected, like pitch/roll that I did not initiate. Paddle would be my go to switch for that. -
Well DCS was heading down the drain for years, so this is just a continuation of the trend I guess. Really sad.

For you. They are both equally unimportant to me. This issue comes up once every month, Im sure HB knows about this, the main question is how important is it to them.
-
Wasnt it that TCS will slave to first radar target, but if you drop the lock on first and lock another contact TCS will still stay slaved to the first one? At least that was the issue for me IIRC. Makes for very confusing target identification during dogfights.

There in lies your (our) problem. They already got the money probably from majority of who will ever buy it, so they have no incentive to hurry up with finishing it. Such is the way of early access.

Multiple Radar/AWG-9/Phoenix Issues since patch 2.5.6.52437
Golo replied to Bearfoot's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I agree, HB did amazing thing with the radar modeling, but if its not working due to crappy net code/ping/whatever, then we cant use that radar to full potential as we should be able to, hence it needs some kind of workaround to display what we should be seeing and to be able to guide weapons correctly. -
Fight for Honor - A Folds of Honor Charity Event
Golo replied to M0ltar's topic in Tournaments & Events
It is ridiculous, I would like to know how is anyone (well except those with fancy JHMCS) going to keep it in check while looking somewhere above and behind at the other dude, when the accelerometer is located on the bottom right of the instrument panel, at least in our F-14B. -
Honestly it has been working for me without fail since about year ago. Before I had CTDs too.
-
I just did the same and can not reproduce CTD. Jumped in cockpit and hit key B (my key for switching tape side) and it switched to B side of the tape. Then I switched back to A, tried to play a little and switched again to B. Rewind and switched again without problem. I would hazard a guess that it must be something on you side. Are you sure you have BSideSong1.sdef -> BSideSong10.sdef in your Mods\aircraft\F14\Sounds\sdef\Walkman and then have named the songs in Mods\aircraft\F14\Sounds\Walkman BSideSong1.ogg -> BSideSong10.ogg?

And what would be the point of having long range line up light system that is only visible at 1nm? In the specs I red about the system was a requirement that it has to be visible at minimum 6nm from carrier. Its a ugly big blob yes, but the visibility range is OK.
-
Didn't ED said that they take control of all missiles development? At least that was my understanding from Deka's SD-10 thread. If that is the case ED has to deliver, no?
-
Well you can always "guess" the correct function of the systems like certain other developer...:music_whistling: No? Ok, Ill see myself out.

Feature request: Non linear option for non ffb sticks
Golo replied to VirusAM's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
With how is non FFB stick implemented right now you do not have full motion authority of your stick as you should have. If I trim to the center of the controls indicator (ctrl+enter) I can deflect horizontal stabilizers up 33° which is correct, but can not go past 7° down on in cockpit indicator I should be able to go 10° down. If I trim down to lets say half down on the control indicator (ctrl+enter) I can get full 10° deflection down, but can not go to 33° up anymore, Im limited to 29° up as shown on in cockpit indicator (and by physical position of HS). Same goes other way around If I trim half way up I can get to the 33° up mark, but am limited by about 4° up by pushing the stick all the way. I basically do not have full range of motion of in cockpit stick and by that not a full range of horizontal stabilizer motion. Is that how it should be? Because that sound weird to me. -
Thats kind of understandable for F-14 being multicrew, 2 seater with amazing cockpit artwork, isnt it?

[NO BUG]No CV alignment possible in GPS restricted environment
Golo replied to QuiGon's topic in Bugs and Problems
Sorry what? This is supposed to be simulation of a hornet no? INS is one of the basic aircraft systems since what 1950s? Not being able to align INS without GPS is not a feature its BUG and rather significant one too.
