Yes its the micro switch for outboard spoiler. The inboard one should pop up when spoiler brake is in any position other than off, flaps up, wow and engines in idle. Interestingly if you have outboard spoilers up, and set flaps up it will (should) stay up because that micro switch will disconnect it from operation. - On deck, when the flap handle is cycled to UP, the outboard spoiler module is shut down. This will cause the outboard spoilers to remain extended if activated. If this occurs, position the flap handle to DN and deactivate the spoilers. This may also cause the spoiler indicators to inaccurately indicate a droop or down position. If this occurs, position the flap handle to DN and move the control stick laterally to correct spoiler indicators.

Then I would suggest you go complain at their part of the forum, because reality is not a holywood movie and real aircraft just dont explode in a ball of fire like in movies every single time. You seem to have some misguided preception about it. There is plenty of examples of aircraft getting hit by AAA/missiles and pilots talking about how they could limp back to base or back behind the FLOT line to eject with their damaged aircrafts. As for visual representation of damage for F-14, its now very basic. Its been said that its still WIP, so just wait for it to be done.
-
What you see in those videos are external damage that is WIP, its very basic now yes. BUT, all or nearly all internal system of the aircraft from engine to intercom can get damaged. Almost every bullet hit will be felt by the crew you can be sure about that. It may not be visible from the outside, but I can tell you from my experience that if you get hit by a AAA or a missile anywhere you are out of the fight. The flight characteristic will degrade (holding full lateral stick deflection for 20min just to eject in the grove behind carrier sucks), nav systems wont work (finding the ship when blind is no fun at all and at night you might as well eject), you will leak fuel/hydraulics, loosing afterburner on engine in BFM due to bullet hit is not fun (burner on one engine only in BFM tends not to end up well if you dont notice it), not being able to talk to rio or wingman will mess up your day. If you expect the jet to fall apart on every single hit you will be disappointed, at least for now, but dont for one second think that F-14 is invincible. If you dont belive it go try it.

And I disagree with you, If the engine and flight models are calculated of of wrong speeds its a fundamental flaw in a simulation, however small it might be without significant wind.

Radar contacts shows correctly for us too on all modes in MP, its no more difficult to get and hold a track/lock as anytime before. Then again Im not flying with Jester, so I cant speak to his performance. And my understanding is that MLC is supposed to switch off if you are nose down more than 3° and you will see ground clutter contacts in that case. Have not noticed anything wrong with it, but it might be little off, fair enough.
-
Its not, radar worked perfectly on our MP mission over the weekend. Missile guidance was TERRIBLE as usual but that is different issue.

F-14 has been developed by Heatblur (3rd party developer), not ED and it shows. While it took long time they released practically complete F-14B module (with some minor missing features) same as their module before. Im so happy with F-14 module that I actually want all modules to be made by HB only (Heatblurs F-4 Phantom II needs to be a thing). ED on the other hand released F-18, and especially F-16 in a sorry state, and finished product are no where to be seen. Hell the UH-1 still does not have multicrew capability and F-5 have not been touched in many months. I for one am not buying any ED module in EA anymore and those finished only after they fix/finish whats already out (well I will buy maps, unless it will come to "we have a sand map with one village and half an airfield - rest further in EA")
-
Logical function would be to support the missile on TWS-A until pitbull time, TTI-16s (its all on the missiles radar from this point). After that radar should no longer be required to support the missile because its actively guiding on its own now and it should be possible to switch radar modes.

True, but I hope their re-implementing SRS, also means complete overhaul of ATC coms (which are terribly needed) including carrier module, cos they bragged about realistic carrier coms and it just isnt.

Well, Im not sure how you calculate your BINGO fuel, but for me its enough to land with the fuel reserve of about 2-3k pounds still in tanks, total BINGO quantity depends on mission of course. But it does not change during mission and is a HARD OUT, we have scrapped missions in squadron because of it. And sometimes its a good thing because you will need that fuel, especially around carrier, because do 2 bolter/wave offs and you are suddenly ~1,5k pounds lighter. You may be thinking about JOKER fuel which is kind of fluid, its just a mental reminder that we set 2-3k pounds above BINGO fuel, it reminds us of "hey we should be thinking of getting home", but if we need to CAP for a while more, or do CAS on 1 or 2 more targets we do it.

You usually set bingo to predetermined state on the ground during startup and checks, so no problem here.

Firing Multiple Phoenix At Same Target Before First One Hits?
Golo replied to Bearfoot's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Single player by switching seats, and multi player with human RIO only. I am not aware of how to do it with Jester in MP, his commands are very limited. -
Firing Multiple Phoenix At Same Target Before First One Hits?
Golo replied to Bearfoot's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Does not matter what the system was designed to to, what matters is what it can do. You can launch as many missiles as you want on single target in TWS, just make sure you have your intended target hooked on TID and press next launch. That should give you priority target 1 next to the contact again instead of TTG, after which you can launch second one, or third, or ... -
This should be some function of speed, if you have calm sea without wind and carrier is doing 30kts on its own it should have longest wake. On the other hand if the wind is high and so are sea waves, carrier is only doing maybe 15kts wake should not be as long.
-
I agree, it seems weird not to be able to get to and past 300kias with engines thrust of 60400lbf just because flaps are down. That much thrust should have power to "rip the flaps off the airplane" so to speak, from my point of view at least. Im of course armchair pilot only so no experience on that and Im also sure that no pilot ever did this IRL even just for test so probably no data points on that but it just feels wrong somehow.

Video: Two perfect "_OK_" scores (and lots of mistakes)
Golo replied to Doc3908's topic in DCS: Supercarrier
Yea, I think that they put in some wide margins of what would be _OK_ or OK. Can you imagine the s**t storm when 99% of players would get -- or C on 99% of landings (even if in fact it is what they deserve, judging from most of the dcs recovery videos). -
missing info LSO calls "You're slow" when on speed AOA in F-14
Golo replied to goodman.od.ua's topic in Bugs and Problems
Thats what I figured because light Tomcat is some 10kts slower than Hornet is on speed. Im always getting BS slow calls from LSO, not based on my AOA (when in fact im little fast) -

Old Stennis was wrong, total vertical coverage of the IFLOLS from bottom red to high amber is only 1,7° there is no way you would be able to see it at 800ft even 1,5 miles behind ship.
-
And why would you be looking at your airspeed indicator when landing?
-
Same here, that island is FPS black hole, If I look anywhere else on SC I get high 40s FPS in F-14 cockpit, once I look at the island its down to 20 FPS.
-
Serverside option for this is a terrible idea, it should be on individual basis if someone wants to see it or not. Forcing it server side on all when if they have it on does not affect you in any way is bad. I personally want it off because I use monitor and track-ir and never had problem to see the ball, but others flying in VR on same server might want it on, which I support, but if its set off they wont be able to. On the other hand if its set server side on for the VR guys, I will have it on as well which I dont want.
-
Check the accelerometer after if that happens again, if its needle is pegged at +10 after dogfighting, its probably because you shattered the IMU - Inertial Measurement Unit that measures and show your position when flying. Its very easy to "over g" the Tomcat since it does not have any limiters like modern jets with FCS so be more careful with it.
-
Tomcat is using spoilers (at low speeds) to roll so they behave little differently from ailerons. You go stick right to roll right, spoilers on the right wing go up inducing right roll, but also increase drag on right side causing you to yaw right (ball goes left). So at low AOA in the Tomcat you will experience proverse yaw (ball moving opposite of roll), but at higher AOA you will experience adverse yaw as you expect.
