  1. As Rayray mentioned this has only happened to me when using the Center Stick Trimmer Option and usually when I'm at low altitude and trying to avoid enemy ground fire with some wild cyclic inputs. I usually have lots of cyclic control input in, hit the trimmer and don't get it re-centered for the trim to take place in which case further inputs are ignored until the stick is re-centered. If it's happening during hover and other low angles of input regimes perhaps the joystick is not sending a "centered" input to the program and so it's locking out the controls, in which case that is a hardware issue and might be corrected with some dead zone manipulation. I'm torn between the two trimming options because centered is smoother at times but it sucks to have it lock out the controls when you need them the most.
  2. I purposely got the sight to be off center and can confirm turning the entire unit off for a minute or so and then turning back on did seem to re-center. Not sure if there is a point where you can actually break the sight with violent maneuvers so that it is unfixable.
  3. I believe that sight would be used by the gunner to fire rockets ,Machine Guns, etc but as of now it doesn't fold down. However if you lower the Gunners seat position enough you can see the crosshairs reflected enough in it and can do a decent job of attacking targets from the front seat if you wish.
  4. There is a mod you can download in the user files that makes all of the skins for the Hind available for all countries by the way. Also it's really not hard to edit yourself, just a few notepad changes you can make if you really needed a certain skin for a certain country.
  5. that video would be better if you had the control positions showing so people can see how you have to work the controls in unison to achieve that.
  6. From just now looking in the ME it already is?
  7. Obviously the best recovery is to not enter VRS at all, however I believe he is asking what to do once VRS has developed.
  8. I don't think it would be smart to fly with a rearward opening door open unless you wanted to explain later why it was missing, or perhaps why it was embedded in your rotor at the crash site.
  9. I have yet to find a combination where he wouldn't lock on yet on any map. However there was an instance on the Syria map where Petro wouldn't fire because the tanks were behind a fence which I thought was pretty smart on his part.
  10. I thought this was unfixable in the air and you had to land and repair? Does turning off all the systems in the air and waiting for several minutes fix this? That would be good to know if it does.
  11. Unless you have adequate altitude recovery is usually not going to happen, unfortunately it seems that where VRS tends to occur. Life isn't fair sometimes.
  12. The second video seems to be 9 minutes of "get behind the other guy and press the button"
  13. the Hind has a very slow rate of deceleration so a high nose pitch attitude is required which in turns causes you to lose sight of the horizon making it tough to judge your necessary pedal inputs. You can try to raise your pilots head position a bit to help, otherwise bleeding off speed early is the best procedure. Another technique is to add collective aggressively when you see the descent rate increasing to stay ahead of VRS or just the large sink rate you might get if trying to do this at the last minute. In the end it's all about practice, at least until they change the flight dynamics again
  14. Or just wait for the fix, hopefully it will be officially recognized as broken in the bug thread soon and be resolved in the next patch.
  15. They didn't remove the option for it to be a an ON/OFF switch, they just tried to add ON and OFF switches but in the process it broke the original binding. From what I understand if you are the Pilot the short aft AI command tells Petro to close the doors and stop looking for targets to avoid damaging the gyros from a harsh turn.
  16. that is news to me, I've never noticed it or used it. I guess that is more of a "head shake" effect.
  17. What is "cockpit shake"? Is that the same as the dashboard shake in the Huey or MI-8?
  18. I was under the impression that Shift-J only worked in exterior views and any cockpit shake was baked in so to speak with some of the custom options allowing you to shut it off or pick the intensity.
  19. Interesting videos thanks.
  20. trk file if you can, that will clarify it much easier.
  21. Comms and Nav I would guess and of course lookout for enemy threats etc etc. Perhaps making a grocery list of what to buy when they get back to base, what movie to rent at the video store (80's scenarios only).
  22. you simply select a target with the right short and then disengage with the down short. Perhaps I don't understand your question fully? As far as infantry it seems silly to me to have single soldiers in the first place, would be better to have infantry "squads" of 10 soldiers and this would equate to one targe and would scale better.
  23. If you have a large amount of collective pulled I believe the generators can be forced offline until the RPM increased to the point the generators are back online, perhaps this is what is occuring?
  24. The number one rule is that the pilot has to be very stable, otherwise you are wasting your time. You need to give Petro a long run in so he can stabilize first and even then he sometimes gets twitchy. I've found that the mouse is the most accurate controller and allows fine tuning, also turning off the little red arrow helps a lot as I find it distracting. One thing I've found that is quite a bit of fun is to actually fly the helicopter from the gunner cockpit, get it very stable and then switch to the missle sight. With proper trimming sometimes you get more stability from not dealing with Petro's flying in the first place. usually very light rudder inputs is all that are needed if trimmed properly.
