  1. True. I'm this close to buying a Saitek Quadrant just for some dedicated lever action.
  2. The stop lever (in-game) moves in increments of 2° if using the mouse-wheel and 1° if using an axis. The reason for the tool-tip is to let you fine tune the stop-lever to, say, 82° without the pain of juggling the two levers while trying to watch the HUD.
  3. Between a Hornet, Harrier or F-14 the correct answer is....
  4. There seems to be a conflict of advise here. According to Chuck's guide during a vertical landing you should apply 4° nose down while in-flight. According to the official pocket-guide it says 4° only once you're down. I've tried applying 4° nose-down during approach and for the life of me I can't understand why I should; beside the problems in radically upsetting the aircraft or knowing when you've dialed in negative 4° trim it also means flying with the stick jammed back into your private parts. :joystick:
  5. Same here - it's frustrating, particularly when the mirrors have no appreciable impact on FPS. I'd love to keep them on but it ruins smooth head-tracking.
  6. A degree indicator
  7. I think it might be because they are using 'easy coms'?
  8. I'm in the same boat....I'm not sure if I'm encountering a problem or I'm just unfamiliar with the logic of the system.
  9. Thanks, Orso. I think this might better describe the 'issue'. This is a free-flight mission - no waypoints in the ME; just click & fly. I select a runway's TACAN beacon and then adjust the course knob to the runway heading. But now I am stuck with the course line on my EHSD. If I want to remove the course line from the TACAN page the only way seems to be selecting a different TACAN channel....and then change it back again. Which seems....odd. Edit:...or I can turn the TACAN off and on again with the UFCP (or whatever the keypad is called)....still seems odd.
  10. I think it's a bug with IR Mavs and cold starts (or re-arms) not playing nice with each other. Try them from a mid-air mission start - they've worked OK for me that way.
  11. Seeing that Heatblur are in a giving mode....any chance we can get an assignable axis for the radar brightness, HUD brightness...etc?
  12. Is there any way to remove the course line from the EHSD? Also the course knob won't let you click and drag very far so you end up using the mouse-wheel for coarse and fine adjustment; can this be improved?
  13. Yep. Don't be gas-lighted into believing it's your fault that DCS stutters and pauses and if you only spend another $300 it will be okay.
  14. I think you missed the point. I'm suggesting that the player not be invited to select a role until the game is capable of processing that request.
  15. .....be able to run with the NS-430?
  16. On which map are they collidable? They're still ethereal on my Caucasus.
  17. Go into your C:\Users\***yourname***\Saved Games\DCS\Config folder and edit the options.lua e: damn
  18. It's not limited to the Hornet - I've been experiencing similar massive drops in performance in and around airports. One mission it will be fine - then reload the same mission and the FPS drops like a stone until you fly away from the airfield.
  19. My guess is if you buy FC3 in the current sale and upgrade to MAC when it lands it will work out slightly cheaper than if you buy MAC when released. But it's just a guess.
  20. I can only imagine what goes through the mind of a brand new DCS player trying to join a multiplayer game.... OK, select role....I'll pick an F-15....clicks a slot....no response...huh....clicks again, again, again...nothing....is my PC okay?....tries scrolling the list....nothing....tries again...nothing...oh wait, it moved a bit....tries clicking a slot....nothing....won't scroll...is the game broken?.... etc
  21. Just a bump for a 'cockpit shake' slider in the special options. The Mig-21 is an incredibly immersive experience because of it.
  22. No, it's very close to the airfield - the end of the textures is about 100km further north.
  23. Correct I was....er....just testing! :music_whistling:
