  1. Normandy 2 has better locations/size, but Channel has much better detail. The chalk cliffs on the UK side in Normandy 2 look absolutely horrendous with static shadows drawn onto them.
  2. And gatekeeping, it seems.
  3. I feel it's a bit of a stopgap that will be improved later, judging by the lack of rockets depression tables/calculator, and a guns table with only three entries: two being unusually high and one not having a release altitude at all.
  4. He shouldn't be ejecting himself period. Not sure why we need an option for this when the lowest possible tolerance should be the default; i.e. not ejecting unless commanded to by the pilot. If we want real WSO ejection decision then we should set it via crew contract, with off being a selection.
  5. The fact that so many people are reporting the same points to there being an issue somewhere. That is an undeniable fact, as is the fact that the hardware and software used by devs, SMEs, and beta testers is not representative of what the average end-user has. It's also a fact that the devs and SMEs are going to be biased towrads perfection of simulating the real deal, practical usability for the average customer be damned. From a purely logical and objective, unbiased perspective, this should be an option. To be clear, it should not be removed, but the choice to turn it off should be available so the end-user can tweak the controls simulation to work better according to their hardware/software.
  6. Now that you mention it, the first few builds of the F1 had the same nose-dipping pitch issues that the Phantom is exhibiting now. Hopefully just like with the F1, the Phantom's FM tuning as updates progress will iron things out.
  7. Make sure wind speed is higher than 6kts and aligned down that runway. DCS in general has issues with ILS not being turned on unless the winds are specific directions and speeds, but it's particularly bad on Caucasus map for some reason.
  8. Manual doesn't explain why left/right fuel lights would be on when NOT carrying wing tanks, and fuel switch set to internal fuel.
  9. Ready pre-contact is already in. Haven't checked for the others.
  10. TM Warthog on a 20cm extension, no other mods or software. Running relatively low framerates at 30s~40s in VR. The Dash 1, page 6-7 (handling qualities; landing config), indeed says: However in DCS I do not experience this. I can change the pitch trim 2~3 degrees and I'm still holding my physical stick in my gut (hyperbole, but I'm literally unable to trim pitch to neutral or near-neutral on approach). For me, the trim is too coarse/over-responsive in regular flight regimes, and mostly useless when configured for landing.
  11. Still an issue. It takes 1 hour to download a 20mb checklist file over a connection with a 90Mbps download speed. Crunching the numbers, that download should be one second, not one hour. Update with actual speed: 50~150kbps. Is the User Files server on dial-up?
  12. Depends on how much fuel you need, what your mission set is, and potentially what service country you're portraying. Photos from Vietnam show everything from centerline to wing tanks for A2G missions. In JASDF service, EJ Kai almost exclusively flies with centerline, occasionally all three bags. RF-4EJ almost exclusively with wing tanks (due to centerline having a recon pod).
  13. Is it possible that framerates are impacting trim/input speed? The devs, Victory, and other users describe one thing while those of us having issues don't seem to experience the same Phantom that they are. There are some things I'm simply not seeing match up with what's discussed in the forums, and there is precedent in other modules for framerates affecting controls.
  14. When crusing at 350kts, check out the external view. A single click of pitch trim causes the nose to wobble quite excessively.
  15. Easing off back pressure with 3 units ND trim was exactly how my nose ended up dropping.
  16. This. With some selections it auto-hides, with others it does not. If all selections auto-hid the menu it would be easier to use.
  17. Not at my PC to check, but could we copy the relevant line in that description.lua file to other JASDF birds for a temporary fix?
  18. "Bounce" First takeoff I tried to be a hotshot with an unrestricted climb. Full aft stick at 80KIAS per the book. As soon as I was airborne I eased off stick pressure to level out. Instead of arresting the climb, the nose dropped below the horizon and I planted all three gear on the runway for a few seconds before going airborne again.
  19. Could this be the cause of the uncommanded pitch-down moments when easing off back pressure from the stick?
  20. External engine sound is also almost half volume compared to that of inside the cockpit, even with canopy closed.
  21. After my first flight I notice a tendency for the nose to overshoot neutral when neutralizing/unloading/easing off aft pressure on the stick, acting as if I shoved the stick full forward. This is most noticeable when unloading G before rolling wings level after a turn. The only way I have (so far) found to avoid this pitch overshoot is to keep some G on the jet while rolling level, which I always thought was a big no-no in older jets ("fly the cross"). Is this intended behavior, or is something whack with my stick calibration? (FFB off, 20cm extension)
  22. Doesn't the Tomcat also have a similar bobweight/bellows system, or am I misremembering?
  23. Request for OD ALQ-131 color to go with JASDF skins, as JASDF service jammers are/were OD and not white.
  24. “purchased from heatblur store” was not present in title at time of my question. That edit makes the topic clearer now, thanks.
  25. I'm confused as to why we need to do this when all other modules are handled automatically.
