  1. Indeed, and further, I covet and feel extreme jealousy for those simmers in DCS that have found their one and only true love of an air frame, an air frame that they invested the time and money to build a true and actual cockpit in which to encapsulate themselves. In VR you will indeed find true and absolute immersion. I wish I was one of you.
  2. When the predator bird swoops low and dips into the water where the shark roams, it will eventually loose some tail feathers. It is simply better to get on with the pain and adapt with time! Toe to Toe, Peer to Peer warfare! we are moving into a better space, we are securing the development of the western countermeasure! But Fu(king A we are waiting far too long for the BS3 weapon! We need to start killing everything.... and we need to start soon!
  3. For me the argument is simple; DCS Pixel density (PD) has a massive difference on the game, forget everything else or any other compensation.... DCS PD crushes fps dead. From there the equation is simple, you either have a high (low?) resolution headset or you do not..... The rest is hunting something that just isn't there. I never touch Steam SS and it remains at 100% and to some extent I can afford to do so with the HP reverbs higher resolution..... it is far from perfect.... it is simply better than every thing else. For sure the Pimax kit looks superb, but VR will be like everything else in the computer world..... fundamentally grounded in software...… and when it comes to software..... you buy American! There is a price to pay in VR and it is a price that we must all come to terms with.... at the moment. Once I understood and accepted this , VR became the most fabulous experience that this SIM gamer has ever experienced in his 40 years of extreme gaming and wild horses would not drag me back to the 2D bullsh!t world in which I used to live.
  4. If hot start is working then it is not your controllers. Are you using external ground power to hasten your manual start up? and further, have you enabled the on board generators once the engines are at full rev? Do you know what was meant when the previous dudes questioned asked about full throttle? Once the engines are initially spooled up and the needles on the dual engine tachometers hover around the 70 - 80 % mark..... Did you rotate the throttle grip on the collective so that the engines tachometer climbs above 90% for both engines? Is your chopper carrying a heavy weapon load?
  5. I will have to go back and check it, placebo effect perhaps.
  6. I like the sound of this. Would be superb to get a picture.....
  7. Page 6 of these photos I posted further back in this thread show some nice photos of our beloved film star war veteran yellow 25's cockpit at some point in her development. The balls of fate are some what sensitive at the time of the posting of these photos and are not directly shown, but the fairing can be clearly seen in landing gear photos. The pit has a few extras, I am sure you will agree.
  8. I believe the overall view distance setting also affects the tree draw distance setting.
  9. I agree 100 percent with this, I would love a helicopter to be produced that had a cockpit that was an absolute worn out dog.
  10. Is this online you last few posters see this problem or in single player?
  11. Indeed. And this is what Kamov did and they did it to Bort 25. Bort 25 (then Bort 15), was the production standard model when production of the KA-50 was ordered and this is what we have in game. Bort 25 and 24 (was Bort 14) later became the test airframes for future developments as well as the test beds for future KA-52 equipment. Bort 25 went through a shed load of upgrades and was the very last KA-50 to fly..... I believe.
  12. I found the DCS SSA set to 1.5 helped a lot with shimmering and I did not notice a drop in FPS. I am locked in at 45 Hz permanently so this may explain why I do not notice a difference, however I also did not notice an fps drop when I was testing the headset with a max setting of 60Hz with re projection set to "auto" (60Hz and 30Hz), but again this is a binary 60 or 30 so no good for testing FPS drops. My Pixel density is 1.0 (I find this setting to be more expensive in frame rates than the MSAA setting in DCS, I can set a PD of 0.9 and run 4 MSAA all day long but I prefer 1.0 and 2 MSAA).
  13. I Very much Agree, excellent work. :)
  14. Hopefully a really nice pilot like Razbam's M-2000 and soon to be AV-8B. Never liked pilots bodies in 2D.... NEVER! Now I can't live without a pilot body in VR!
  15. Excellent. Looking forward to launching behind cover and remaining hidden with only my MMS above the cover.
  16. Day one buy for me too. The Hell fires climb high and quite quickly, it would be interesting to see the difference of the hellfires climb when comparing LOBL and LOAL (cover clearance) launch modes.
  17. Yes, it would be a very valuable upgrade! Nothing special about these guided folding fin rockets, even the MI-8 and hind can carry them, not sure if they could laz for them though, for sure not the Mi-8. They only needs to be in the airports inventory and the Kamov is off to cause serious bloody trouble on the battlefield.... Nice. :)
  18. UK is also in Summer time so for me it is UTC+1... Alpha Time.
  19. This is the same in the Gazelle, the more zoom the finer it adjusts.
  20. Thanks xvii-Dietrich, I thought it was something simple like that.. :)
  21. Zulu time is Greenwich time which is the same as Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). So Zulu is UTC +0. Your in France and live in UTC +1 Alpha time zone which is 1 hour extra. I may be completely wrong about this mind. I do not think UTC changes with Daylight saving, is this correct anyone?
  22. duplicate post! OOOPS!
  23. When 2.5.6 was released I was right at the end of setting up my VR system for gaming. Pretty much finalizing my ideal set up for offline in major cities and online in the country. 2.5.6 literally dropped my system performance by around 10 fps, it does not sound like much but this pushed me from 60Hz locked with 8 Hz headroom in the worst conditions to 45Hz locked with around 8 Hz headroom. At low level flight in a helicopter.... 45Hz has worse graphics problems than 60 Hz!
