  1. I've seen Huey videos with head mounted cameras that are just as wobbly and vibratey. Head wobbles is normal, like a very well designed suspension... I bet the person sitting in the co pilots seat did not notice the vibration as much until he watched the vid.
  2. I also read nothing about paying for it and agree with what you say in its entirety. I also say that the cash earned from sales of the dynamic campaign would hopefully drive its future development. but would the dynamic Campaign also be a massive sales boost to all modules if everyone had it for free and were able to play SP or MP? It will be interesting to see EDs choice with this one. Oh yes and let us not forget: YES! A Dynamic Campaign! SWEEEET!:D
  3. Not a bad strategy. A Ka50, Hind and Mi-8 delivery package of hate and absolution. not a bad combo at all.
  4. The true worth of the hind is how it was used with the MI-8. These two together are a very special combination, one range finding... the other carrying indiscriminate fire power. With the high velocity dual cannon 30 mike mikes with a shockingly rapid rate of fire and all the rockets god would want.... you got a potent weapon system. Of course comms and human pilots make this so.
  5. grudgingly, This will put the KA-50 BS-3 release date back a year or two. For me, this is fine as the Hind will be a weapon that will occupy me for a very long time, then the OH-58D will come along and a whole new technological learning curve will need to be learnt. But it will not quench our thirst for a top notch pre dator weapon system of the helicopter variety..... no sir! The BS3 is the fastest route to true destruction of enemy assets, it will be the first heavy load offensive and defensive rotary winged killer in DCS world bar none! In essence, BS3 will be a god damned one man war-zone that will occur where it is at! But the hind will be very enjoyable, as will the OH-58..... ahem.
  6. The Hind looks excellent. It will keep me busy and quiet for a long long time. It does look like a simple image of a map... I am looking forward to calibrating my cursor! :)
  7. Exactly this, pull the collective up until the wheels are light on the ground, compensate torque with the pedals. adjust cyclic to lift off wheels level depending on your load.... it is always different. the MI-8 is the best chopper in DCS bar none. We dream of the MI-24 being as good as this.
  8. Waiting..... for the most technologically advanced chopper in dcs world! WAITING........ for another Polychops first. Gonna have me some fun with this complex girl..... perfect post to OP!
  9. As above, The APKWS is what I am most excited about, it really will extend the amount of precise damage these light weight choppers can dish out in one sortie. Both will be great helicopters to fly.
  10. The MI-8 is the most complete chopper Sim in DCS. The KA-50 is the most complex which may give the impression it is a complete sim like the A-!0. But the KA-50 only lacks minor things like electrical circuits and other minor stuff.
  11. This is why I do not take AI pilots with me on any missions if I can help it. In the Gazelle, I set the radar altimeter alarm to 10 metres and if the alarm red light goes out then I am well into the danger zone and deserve to be shot down.
  12. FYI, in DCS, when the tungunska spots you visually, she lights up her radar instantly. There is no sneaky rat coded into DCS. Tungunska goes into red hot Death kill mode instantaneously.... It is why I love her. Also with the new AI, Tungunska will have a go no matter what.
  13. If we take a look at the total releases of DCS modules and separate them into their distinct categories we can better refine our discussion. I have included the date of the initial release of each item that initiated each distinct category. (the dates are fast and rough but should be accurate enough to do their job). Apart from each initial category release item, the total list within each category is not at all time release accurate. Civilian/civilian training 2 items. Yak 52 (2018), Christian Eagle II. Choppers 4 items. KA50 (2008), MI-8, UH-1H, Gazelle. WWII fighters 7 items. P-51D (2012), BF 109 K4, FW-190 A-8, FW-190 D9, Spitfire LF Mk. IX, I-16, P-47. Jet fighters 16 items. A-10C (2010), F-86F, F-5E, F-14, F-16C, F/A-18C, AV-8B, Mig-15bis, Mig-19P, Mig-21bis, AJ-37, M-2000C, L-39, C-101, JF-17, T.1A. FC3 Wets Airframes are a good introduction to DCS. I believe if we are lucky boys and girls we will see the OH-58D this year. I also believe we will see the BO-105 before the MI-24 Hind or KA-50 upgrade. Hopefully Grodlund, you can see the numbers laid bare and why the impoverished and destitute chopper pilots offer money to keep their meagre lot relevant to the standard that the fast moving jet and WWII pilots are accustomed to as standard. We simply want to stay at the dining table eating. The smiley faces on the dates seems to be out of my control as each eight turns into a smiley face.
  14. Me too, I do not expect too much from the BS3 but it would be good for her to be a complete study sim, plus the president S defence system will make it a nice bit of kit for the modern battlefield.... It would certainly serve the red forces for some years to come and clear the development path for a highly aggressive western attack helicopter....... Tiger perhaps?
  15. I am already saving my pennies for G2 and 30XX Ti. I will take my time and wait to see how the dice rolls. Probably upgrading both together will reduce the FPS gain seen but a 5 (probable) to 10 fps gain would be sweet with improved rez and field of view. I am ready to be locked in at 45 Hz for a long time whilst the eye candy slowly but surely improves. One day..... I will run 45 Hz continuous, maxed out graphically.... A day of joy for sure!
  16. Same here in VR. I am getting about 38 fps around built up areas and cliffs of Dover in my gazelle. Flying the harrier at 5000 feet seems to make no real difference compared to flying just above the trees..... 38 fps. I can zip the harrier through downtown Dubai just above the motorways with it rarely dropping below 45fps. Channel Map looks Superb though.... It will be awesome with high fps.
  17. VR for me.... no doubts. Track IR was a great start but that sense of sitting on the harrier or A-10 in comparison to sitting in the aircraft is just to valuable to me. It really has pulled me out of pure choppers and also into Aeroplanes. For choppers, VR is just pure bliss. I have already started to re build my small ancillary pit and rework the Thrustmaster MFDs to better suit working in VR. For me the straining to look behind is a bonus. However, the lack of periphery focus is a downside with VR. but just fine in a helicopter with no rear view.
  18. I would be happy with the door-less Minigun version without the Minigun. The option for a pilot in shorts, T-shirt and flip flops would just fill me with joy when exploring new maps. Apart from a gut, it would look like me sitting in the Pit during my all day relaxing Sunday enjoying eveything DCS! Oh and I don't actually wear flip flops to fly in DCS at home but I guess a real life pilot kicking back flying in sunny weather has to have something on his feet. :) I like all of the above DmitriKozlowsky.
  19. Floating hands on a moving animated body is the ultimate goal, a long way off for sure!.
  20. Very enjoyable, looking forward to Vid 5!
  21. interesting, never noticed those. AP altitude hold ability to compensate within a range of collective movement??? I like the idea of a paid visual upgrade coming with more ability within the module.... I like that alot. it would clear the way for future choppers as standard and for free. Troops in the cabin, open pit door to cabin, winch operations from the side door, fire bucket you say now? I would probably love putting out fires in this girl. Troops all leaning out an opening and letting rip with their weapons? that would be loud and proud in the Huey. Medivac would be cool.
  22. Really looking forward to Black Shark 3. BS3 will make life just that little bit easier. Like the Apache in desert storm being the first airframe to release weapons deep within enemy territory, the Kamov KA-50 was intended to be its opposite number capable of blunting the attack of the most advanced adversaries by moving in before the jets or with the jets! It is supposed to be a fast low flying precision attack chopper right at the very tip of the spear. The hind in comparison is an excellent ground support chopper that covers the troops following.
  23. Excellent videos, very informative and from a guy who really knows his stuff. Looking forward to Vid 4.
  24. did you know that yellow 25 tested the su-25 shkvall night vision system? just saying out of interest, not that we would be so lucky to have such an advanced version of yellow 25! :) I got no idea of how high this test bed went! He He He I wonder which version of the KA-50 is the most valid in DCS?
  25. Still, After all these years of negative feedback towards this weapon platform! I still cannot decide why I love this weapon so much…. I often wonder why this weapon just feels so right to me and not to others. I believe the flight model to be off by a touch here and there. Fundamentally, I hate the way the collective lacks influence on the nose of the chopper, for me pulling the collective up lifts the choppers nose and fundamentally influences the choppers flight path in every attitude but most importantly in the curve…. It offers infinite controllability in every flight regime. Is it the SAS that pushes you towards flying this weapon more like a fixed wing aircraft, I do not know. For sure Polychops have captured the twitchiness of this weapon, The real life R22 is just as twitchy with just as much tiny cyclic movement so this for me is A OK!. Why do I love the polychops gazelle so much? I believe Polychops have shown me something different. I believe they have fundamentally reorganised what I believe an attack chopper is and erased what I used to believe was better. I grew up for the last 30 years loving the Apache, but now I reckon there may be better. I reckon staying low and tight in cover is correct in DCS world. I reckon the weapon should release murder without exposing itself…. It is the only way a serial killer may survive in such a technologically advanced battle field. I believe the Europeans show us the way again. I fundamentally believe in the gazelle and its design, it is a nasty piece of sh!t and I dread to think what the tiger is like.
