  1. Just set it to auto and forget about it. Unless you're using a magnetic HDD, there's no reason to physically set the page file. Even then the idea was that sequential read of a contiguous block is faster. I'm sure it was, but I never noticed the difference.
  2. Agreed. Given that any mediocre guitar player knows how to strum 4, 5, or 6 strings for a given chord, it's not too difficult to move a few switches around.
  3. There are a couple of ways of doing it. Here's an example that I wrote up a while back. You can ignore the bit about adding MSFD support at the bottom. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2616874&postcount=799
  4. Before spending money on your buttkicker/jetseats, you should think about adding some realism to your cockpit......oh wait! :D Nice looking pit you have there! Kudos.
  5. Have you played DCS in P5K+?
  6. One way to describe P5K+ is that when DCS first starts up, there is a disclaimer text (I think it's a disclaimer, I don't recall the exact text) that shows up at the bottom. Where you see the modules that you own on the bottom. Well with CV1, I can read it if I concentrate and lean in. Same was true of the original Odyssey and Vive. But with P5K+, it's extremely clear. We'll see where the S ends up on the clarity level.
  7. Using the kneeboard builder or using your monitor LUA?
  8. Wow. In a world of Google, Facebook, and *EVERY* web page with cookies, people will revolt against Win10? Perhaps. But I grew up with Linux, Mac OS, and Windows. I'll take any OS that gives me the best game performance. And more importantly, *available* games. So that would be Windows for me.
  9. If you never go to ANY other site than DCS, I suppose you minimize the danger. But there will come a day when some peripheral will not work because the said vendor didn't test it with Win7. Not today, not next month, but in two years? Maybe. Then what will you do? And if you do VR, Win10 is a *MUST*.
  10. I don't think so. It's native resolution as far as I know. It was the 8K where there was a lot of upsampling/downsampling.
  11. It's impossible to get FOV through the lens. I tried the "wide" setting in GoPro and still does not come through. I'll tell you this, as a LONG time Rift user with zero complaints, P5K+'s Normal FOV blew me away.
  12. But it's not like you'd notice going from 80 to 100, would you? I mean with the counter turned off?
  13. You can add extensions (recommended as a matter of course) or you can do the "Warthog Spring Mod" to use it w/o extensions. I found the stick extensions a mandatory upgrade for flying helos. The extra throw really helps.
  14. I would also factor in the improvements being made by ED on the FPS optimization.
  15. That's all I need. These HDMI cables. And these USB cables. The HDMI, and USB cables, it's all I need. And these controllers. The HDMI, USB, and controllers, that's all I need. And these HMD! LOL. great movie...and I'm sure yours will be a great product.
  16. personal preference. I stuck with the default square one.
  17. Interesting. I guess my impressions are correct. I find NTTR to be smoother and always chalked it up to desert motif. I figured Persian map is the most "optimized" but I guess not. Thanks for taking the time.
  18. huh, I had a similar problem because one cable came off. The wiring inside the TM, quite honestly, sucks. I wish they would have spent another 25 cents for the wire upgrade. But for me, not all buttons were lit up. So maybe you have a board problem.
  19. OK, I wanted to upload another video, but due to bright lights, it came out all wrong. What I did was to create a mission with 5 tanks 2 miles away, A10 that was orbiting 5 miles and 10 miles away. With Pimax5K+, I could see the 5 mile A10 w/ no issues, and I could see the 10 mile A10, but it was a moving dot. This at 5,000 ft high in Persian Gulf map. I'll add in the FA18 final turn to see what the ball looks like. And I don't know if the GoPro will be able to spot it, but I'll do my best. And I'll upload a CV1 view if I can get a clear enough vid.
  20. $3 gasket that I cut in half - for two casters. From home depot and And the Crosswinds mounted on a board (I switch out my joystick)
  21. There are games that run EXCEPTIONALLY well in VR. And Wags has just stated that they found a terrain fix that will give us about a 50% boost in performance. And there's vulkan coming that other flight sim vendors have adopted with great boost to VR performance.
  22. Kegety gave them a big jump start! So if it turns out to be the same fix (not rendering things you can't see), then I think we, VR users, owe a pint to Kegety! :)
  23. I agree. I did a quick test just now and overall, it seems smoother.
