  1. As the Mustang has had an update cockpit wise, any custom stuff will be obsolete for now at least. They might return in the future, but what is the point of broken stuff being an option?
  2. Frankly, it would be impossible to progress with software updates without making changes to the old code. Why are you so upset because change makes old settings obsolete occasionally? There is a very simple way to avoid changes. Run with the stable version and leave the Beta work to people with the ability to adopt and adapt. Just don't get so precious about minor inconveniences. It takes minutes to check and fix control inputs after all!
  3. Very useful. Thanks Rudel.
  4. Let us know how it goes.
  5. It is a very obvious thing, so I apologize if you have already taken this into account, but have you checked to ensure you have no duplicated axes in the controls settings? You may find things change if you unplugged a device, or you may have simply missed something when you first set stuff up. It could definitely account for the apparently random throttle movements.
  6. Excellent news. I look forward to trying it with the update. Have a great Christmas team, you have succeeded where others failed, and you deserve some recognition for that. Thank you and well done.
  7. In the setting up process, you will see graphically whether or not the sensors are placed correctly. I have mine (2 of them) set at around 4 feet above the floor and 5 feet apart, and did the setup procedure in a sitting position, and that works fine. It doesn't like them too close together, but sensor height and the figure entered in as your height are not a problem. You don't need 2 sensors to make the rift track well in conjunction with DCS World. I just happen to have wasted money on the touch controllers which I never use.
  8. Early jet engines do have problems. Stick to the green zone, and you shouldn't encounter a meltdown. Run them outside safe operating limits, and you'll see failures. Just nurse them a little, and they're fine. Push them beyond their limits and they'll fail. And yes, those limits do include surges caused by slamming the throttles against the firewall. Open them more carefully, and no surges. Realistic? Who knows. But in the sim, that's what it is, like it or not.
  9. If you always get a cut pass, you are not hitting the numbers. Where and when do you get it? Roll back a little from that point, and having studied the procedures and videos you will see what you're doing wrong. Height, speed and distance from the carrier are all critical at certain points in the pattern. You will get a wave off if you are wide of the numbers, and you'll get a talk down if you hit them accurately enough. Having confidence isn't quite the same as doing things by the book. We can all get down with a 1 wire, we can all screw up and yet trap despite that. The trouble is, what you see as OK is probably just dangerously outside the envelope for some small, but significant reason. The difference between scraping through, or a by the numbers trap is in that minute detail, and that's what you need for a grading.
  10. Some examples of exactly why not releasing the SDK is the right approach! :( :(
  11. I think you may be looking for the update to the Beta version? You won't find it because it applies only to the Release version this week. Another useful way of checking for updates is to use the DCS Updater GUI Utility. It saves having to have any knowledge of command line stuff. Here is a link to find it: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160053
  12. This is really a thing? Were sunglasses not available back then? From experience, it is precisely during periods when the sun is likely to be shining directly into your eyes that sunglasses come into their own. Midday, with the sun overhead you are less likely to encounter that are you not? It seems to be a lot of trouble to go to over such a minor detail.
  13. The correct course of action whenever you add mods is to use one of the mod utility packages such as JSGME. That would allow you to remove the mod if it caused this kind of problem. Without the application, you can first try to run a repair. If that doesn't resolve the issue, my next step is always to rename the saved games folder, which will force DCS World to build a new one with the default configuration. This will, however, reset all your saved control inputs as well as everything else you have configured. If that works, then slowly re-add the folders from the old, renamed folder until you encounter the issue again, and you will have established exactly where the problem file resides. Isolate that, and make any settings changes that have been lost. The reason the saved games bit is needed is that the core game is repaired or re-installed, but the saved games area is usually preserved, so if the fault is there, it won't be solved without the renaming process. I bet you will be downloading and learning to use JSGME pretty soon having got bitten by a mod malfunction. As a side note, it is also always very important to remove all mods, then run a repair before updating. Any rogue files can totally screw an update, as you will see by the number of bug reports that are made on a Wednesday.
  14. 1 empty shed and one Scout helicopter destroyed - the second action resulted in the total loss of one of the pair of Pucaras involved as well (it flew into a mountain). Does that qualify as understated when saying "a little action"? I can't see why this would take priority over something like an A-6 or Bronco as the next big thing in DCS World - not that the project is proceeding anyway. But of all the world's combat aircraft that could be modeled, one that has never been in a proper war, only an undeclared "conflict" that was over very quickly - albeit with a lot of casualties - is rather strange to suggest the Pucara given what else is out there.
  15. If you install mods, always remove them before updating, run the unmodded DCS World at least once, check for bugs and only then start to reintroduce mods. You will never be able to submit accurate bug reports with ANY mods included in your DCS World build. All mods will do is make real bugs harder to find and much much harder for ED to replicate and fix. In short, they waste everyone's time effort and patience. I'm not making accusations here, but if the cap fits...
  16. I suspect the real issue is that the team don't know when their update will be sent out, so it is better to say nothing than to announce changes that miss the update altogether. But, yes, it is frustrating, to say the least.
  17. I think the elastic band holding on the wings broke. It happened to me when I was flying an RC model. Mine ended up as a pile of balsa and GRP in a dustbin though, so good effort from the news-faker in this video!
  18. Autothrottle during refueling is a huge no no. I'd also stay away from curves. When you add in yet another variable, you will end up chasing the hose even longer. It is fundamentally a very difficult manoeuvre, and as such, the key is to simply stick at it. As already stated, the critical thing is to fly in relation to the tanker, not the basket. Make small, careful inputs or pilot induced oscillation will be the result. If it goes pear-shaped, simply back off, recompose, and try again. Take breaks after short sessions so you can remain relaxed, and just keep plugging away (sorry! terrible pun). Just think of the satisfaction you'll get when you become an expert at it, and treat with scorn anyone who wants it to be made easier, just like a real fighter jock.
  19. Warthog with a modded TDC button is the answer.
  20. I understand the radio stud channels is what you're asking about? If so, yes, they're in the real thing too.
  21. My method is to set the throttle axis to slider, then adjust the dead zone so when the throttle is hard up against the detent for the afterburner the red dots sit on each other. This should give an almost perfect military power setting - it can be adjusted a little after you have checked it is correct in the game. You will need to do this for all aircraft, so they all get military power without crossing the detent for the afterburners. I have been doing it this way for years, and it works seamlessly once set up, and that doesn't take long.
  22. You do know to have a craving for a Harley really brings your masculinity into question don't you? It kinda goes with a big bushy moustache and a leather cap. I'd say as things go there are one or two other items I'd prefer, but a man wants what a man wants, so if you want a Harley, who are we to say no! Other than that, yeah, +1.
  23. I'd be interested to know why you think ED weren't already going to remedy this? I can understand why you feel it is needed, it is, absolutely. But to question the value of a purchase that as has already been stated is a pre-release version - that's unreasonable. In a word, we agree, but keep your JHCMS helmet on guys!
  24. Excellent stuff. Thanks for sharing it with us all.
  25. Indeed, a dead pilot is often the outcome of missile hits. Short of a device for propelling red-hot fragments of titanium into a gamer's body on their desktop to provide a more realistic simulation, it's the best ED can do given their resources.:music_whistling: :music_whistling:
