  1. That's exactly what I was talking about...
  2. This may not be the answer you're looking for but I doubt you can fly far enough for the deviation to even matter that much. Having said that, I don't know what the deviation is in this area of the world but I wouldn't think it would be so much that it'll get you lost on our tiny map.
  3. I just did a mission where you have to slingload a certain number of ammo and fuel cargo to a dropoff point and it activates units to start a movement and then attack enemy units. I'm also incorporating CTLD in the mission. While I'm new to that script I did notice you can manipulate ammo vehicles with it. You may be able to find what you're looking for by using the default DCS slingload and CTLD like I am doing.
  4. Is this campaign going to be updated? Other than a helicopter crashing right after taking off from the carriers and the multiple voice script errors, I can't pick up the troops on the first mission. Land next to them and nothing happens and there's no F10 option to pick them up. I've tried to resave each mission but for some reason it won't allow me to. Too bad, it looks like a good campaign but after reading, it looks like it hasn't worked correctly in a while.
  5. If you guys are having problems using your gyro, you need to use it more. There's nothing wrong with not using it, however, the gyro works just fine.
  6. Except some of those systems are dependent on the pitot.
  7. Just for those that are interested, those restrictions are called "limitations", specifically "engine limitations". If you're trying to look up things of that nature it would help to use those terms. Just some FYI.
  8. There was a time not long ago that cursing would get your a warning if not outright booted. Personally, it shouldn't be part of simming. It seems like the call of duty kid crowd has moved over into sims. In the end, its up to the admin of the server to police those people. It's unfortunate that some don't take the time to do it.
  9. Looks like no one has been in this thread for a long time. The missions really need a rework for 1.5 and I was hoping the author would be able to get us updated ones. They won't work now, a lot of triggers and other things are failing.
  10. I've been flying these since the lomac days. I've had DCS since it came out and the flaming cliffs aircraft as well. This just started a few days ago. Whenever I lock a target in the F 15 my FPS drop and the game goes into slideshow mode. If I unlock the target either by using the unlock button or turning the radar off, all returns to normal. It doesn't happen all the time so I can't pin it down. The only thing I know for sure is it started after I installed the autoexec.cfg that the 104th suggested. I don't see how that would have anything to do with it, but that is about when it started. I will remove it and see if it changes anything. Anyone else have this problem?
  11. I wasn't disputing anything. I didn't know if there was a problem with the server or if it was on my end. I'm not sure I'd have anything to dispute. lol Looks like someone gave me an answer though about slmod. That could've been it, I guess.
  12. This. They keep brining up an old method that was used in small, light utility aircraft like 172's. It isn't taught anymore and people really got confused with it, as is seen in here with everyone bringing it up.
  13. Anyone else have trouble connecting? I was on about 7 days ago, left on a trip, got back last night and for some reason I can't even begin to load into the server.
  14. A guy I fly with got out of the Navy a couple of years ago, flying F18's. Every unit has dedicated F18's used for refueling. After a certain number of cycles they get taken offline and used only for refueling because they have to be kept under a certain number of G's. His explanation, not mine.
  15. Great, now he can convert both. Besides, I think NMI was made up, I had no idea what that was. lol
  16. One of you should act as flight lead and the other as a wingman. It sounds like you're both free lancing and doing whatever you want. One should be primary and the other should hang around watching and acting as cover. It really just comes done to situational awareness and you guys just need to work on it.
  17. It may just be your English but, there is no magical curve setting that's going to give you energy. Like Rab and Dark said, it comes down to personal choice. The best thing to do is find the curve you like, then you can mess with the other stuff, if you feel the need.
  18. Other than just practicing, don't hamfist it. People tend to over control. I never found it that difficult so I may not be much help.
  19. Well, no, its not even really close. 1.6 km = 1 mile
  20. Nice guide but I have to disagree that the airspeed shown is true airspeed. It's still Indicated, but with a temp correction. Either way, TAS is still calibrated airspeed corrected for nonstandard temp (which can be adjusted in the gauge in this plane) AND altitude. Calibrated airspeed is indicated airspeed adjusted for installation and position errors. Unless that airspeed indicator is connected to the altimeter someway, I don't think that its showing TAS. Not a big deal, just something I noticed.
  21. There's no need for NVG's in a Sabre. It's not flying low anyway.
  22. I'm pretty sure in the p51 you don't have to turn mirrors on in the settings. I have mine off and all you have to do is click on the mirror in the cockpit and it will rotate down.
  23. No, when you are on a runway with low vis markings, use the touchdown point, the thick/bold white lines. Each set of those are 500' apart, just FYI. Technically, you need to touchdown in the first 1/3 of the runway. If you're using a small, crappy civilian runway in a small utility aircraft then you'll adjust your decent rate to cross the threshold at the proper speed and aim for the numbers, (you'll end up landing pass them more times than not)not 1000' down the runway since it is going to be much shorter.
  24. If you've only used the default aircraft in FSX, then I see your point. There are many other more "advanced" aircraft available that do things much better than the standard aircraft that come with FSX. Also, are FSX and DCS the only ones you've flown? There are more and they are just as good. Some do things as good or better than DCS.
