I's seen many, many comments on the poor quality of sound and how easy it is to rectify by adding ear buds or whatever, but I have yet to read anything about boom mikes or a microphone pickup on the Rift headset. What do you guys using these VR headsets do about being able to communicate with others while online??

Joojoo, have you tried to assign a specific parking spot to your wingmen?

Setting DDI to Default to Certain Page w/ Weapon Modes, LUA, ??

Same here, and radar always comes up on the right DDI -
You can shut him up completely. I have both and I must say, I am having more fun flying the Hornet at the moment but only because my little pea brain can only absorb so much information in a limited period of time so I have concentrated on the Bug. I will say though, I enjoy flying the Tomcat around the boat a lot more that the Hornet. It just FEELS more like I am flying it rather than just jockying a throttle back and forth. Anyway, I believe that many have already said that you will probably not be disappointed with either one. The Tomcat though, is a real work of texturing art!! It is truly a thing of beauty inside and out. Not that the Hornet is any plain Jane milk toast example. I just find the Tomcat a beautifully done model. The only real bummer I can think of regarding the Tomcat is that you can't get into the back seat while in MP missions to operate the targeting pod and Jester can't do it. From that perspective, the Hornet is a little more capable as a multi role fighter. But then the Tomcat was not very often used as a multi role fighter like the Hornet is.

[ALREADY REPORTED]Moon missing after sundown

For those of you that might be interested, try using this to figure out when the moon should be up  http://www.timebie.com/moon/ -
[ALREADY REPORTED]Moon missing after sundown
AG-51_Razor replied to viper2097's topic in General Bugs
I have a moon rise and moon set calendar to tell me, for any given day of the year, anywhere in the world, when the moon will rise and set, what phase it is in as well. I share Viper's frustration and have posted in here about it in the past. ED is absolutely brilliant at simulating the sun rise and sun set but for some reason, can't seem to do the same for the moon. Pick any date where there should be a full moon around late afternoon and you will see the moon in the low horizon before the sun sets but as soon as the sun is well below the horizon, it gets pitch black for about an hour and then it's like someone flipped a switch and there the moon is, bright as can be! The same thing happens when the moon is supposed to set in the early morning. It will be visible and bright up to about an hour before the sun is scheduled to rise, then the light switch is flipped and it gets dark as can be until that beautiful sunrise! I'm pretty sure they can do better! -
Just out of curiosity, after destroying the entrance to the tunnel, did you ever notice a train pass through it? I used to blow the heck out of bridges until I saw the vehicles just continue right on along the line in mid-air that was once the bridge. :megalol:

IF I had a vote, it would be for Heatblur to complete the A-6 Intruder as a full blown player flyable Module before taking on anything else, after which they could do Snoopy on his flying dog house and I'd buy it first day!! :pilotfly:

I have no idea whether the sim has a bug relating to Bar Alt reporting but I can say that an incorrect altimeter setting could easily account for a 500+ foot difference.

Try this: https://www.amazon.com/Black-Aces-High-Fighter-Squadron-ebook/dp/B003JMFAUQ/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=black+aces+high&qid=1562088821&s=books&sr=1-1 I found it to be a facinating book about the Tomcat operations in the Balkans. Very enlightening!

C'mon funny feeling!!

Are there any plans to build a WWII era carrier in the near future? Maybe a Pacific Theater Assets pack? I wouldn't expect something for nothing and would be happy to pay for a module like this. Maybe include an AMTRACK and an LSD. An Essex Class or maybe a CVE of some type. I don't know enough about the various IJN classes of carriers but would love to see one of them in the group as well. The USN carrier(s) would also be right at home off the coast of the Korean peninsula and would look just right with an F4U sitting on the deck - even if it was just a -1D.

Any news on the progress of this? It's been very conspicuous by it's absence in the forum here. :music_whistling:

As much as I would really love to have a properly done DCS quality TBF/TBM, in the absence of a carrier to operate from, I would vote for a PBY-5A Catalina. I think that DCS could really do this justice, especially the challenge of making it amphibious. Add surface search radar with torpedoes or bombs and you would have an awesome Black Cat! Paired with the CSAR script it would make a terrific Search And Rescue plane. :pilotfly:

If you could have 1 WW2 attack plane module, what would it be?

A TBF/TBM would be AWESOME!! :pilotfly: -

AG-51_Razor replied to MobiSev's topic in Wish List
"a maritime patrol seaplane," I would advocate for a Consolidated PBY-5A! I grant you that making an amphibious plane work in the DCS World would be a huge challenge but I have no doubt whatsoever that it would pay for itself before Early Access was over! The Catalina operated in every theater of operations and fulfilled just about every role there is except as a fighter. Anybody in this community that couldn't find something useful to do with a PBY module just doesn't have any imagination! :megalol: -
I don't believe so.

I'd gladly forego the correct ATC procedures in trade for being able to spawn on deck in a helicopter on a helicopter spot. :noexpression:

Case I Speed Management in Break/Downwind
AG-51_Razor replied to ESzczesniak's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Funny you should say that. This is what a Hornet driver told us they do on a regular basis. He indicated that it was a normal practice. I have enough experience in aviation to know that for just about every operation in an aircraft, there are many, many ways to accomplish them and invariably, most folks feel that their way is the only way! :smilewink: -
Case I Speed Management in Break/Downwind
AG-51_Razor replied to ESzczesniak's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I put the flap selector in the full down position while lining up for the initial at 350 kts. The flaps remain up until after the brake when I extend the speed brake and then the gear at 250. The flaps come down and I am trimmed up on speed by just before the round down and the speed brake retracts itself. -
I am fairly certain that Hornetmadd is absolutely correct.
