  1. That was back in May for Pete's sake! I wonder if this is that much of a technically challenging problem to solve or if it just isn't a priority of RAZBAM's?? Or is it out of their hands and in reality it is an ED problem? And if that is the case, I have to ask the original question again - big problem or just a priority issue??
  2. That choice is a mystery to me as the Yorktown was long since under the waves by the time the Corsair began to operate off of carriers. Don't get me wrong though, I am NOT complaining! Just pointing out that they could have picked an Essex class carrier to model that would have been far more realistic AND versatile in terms of using it in WWII and Korean War missions. The Corsair did operate off of the Enterprise, a sister ship, so this will not phase me one bit.
  3. What cue did you get to let you know to "pickle"??
  4. I believe that the range limitation is about 3 miles. My biggest heartache is their lack of ability to see anything in the dark!
  5. This would be a first day buy for me for sure! I don't even see the need, or desire, for a multiplayer cockpit. For me, it gives the mission planner to ability to be much more flexible, or creative if he could use a human to provide the refueling services. Not to mention the other roles it can perform, such as anti shipping!
  6. I found that little rocker switch and button extremely useful for the Zoom in and out slow function and the push button function of it I use for Voice Attack :joystick: I use the little Recce Event button as my TS transmit button.
  7. I would gladly pay for an update to the F-5 IF it included the refueling probe. I have had the F-5 since the first day it came out and really enjoyed flying it but it's legs are too short. And besides, it's the AAR as part of the whole mission that I get a huge kick out of. :joystick:
  8. That was awesome!! I will get busy forming my own SAS team to go forth in the world to reek havok on the enemy!!
  9. Thank you very much Sunstag. I'll study up on that
  10. ....is it possible to give them additional way points (and advanced actions) from where they disembark? Specifically, I am wondering if I can have a soldier that is assigned as a FAC, embark to a helicopter, be flown to an LZ and then have him walk to a position and begin his duties as a FAC. Can this be done?
  11. That was awesome! Thanks for sharing
  12. The wakes of all the ships need an overhaul! IRL, from tens of thousands of feet up and miles away, the wakes are usually the first thing you see of a ship.
  13. I'd be tickeled to death just to see an AI model of the E or F that we could use as a tanker.
  14. I's seen many, many comments on the poor quality of sound and how easy it is to rectify by adding ear buds or whatever, but I have yet to read anything about boom mikes or a microphone pickup on the Rift headset. What do you guys using these VR headsets do about being able to communicate with others while online??
  15. Joojoo, have you tried to assign a specific parking spot to your wingmen?
  16. Same here, and radar always comes up on the right DDI
  17. You can shut him up completely. I have both and I must say, I am having more fun flying the Hornet at the moment but only because my little pea brain can only absorb so much information in a limited period of time so I have concentrated on the Bug. I will say though, I enjoy flying the Tomcat around the boat a lot more that the Hornet. It just FEELS more like I am flying it rather than just jockying a throttle back and forth. Anyway, I believe that many have already said that you will probably not be disappointed with either one. The Tomcat though, is a real work of texturing art!! It is truly a thing of beauty inside and out. Not that the Hornet is any plain Jane milk toast example. I just find the Tomcat a beautifully done model. The only real bummer I can think of regarding the Tomcat is that you can't get into the back seat while in MP missions to operate the targeting pod and Jester can't do it. From that perspective, the Hornet is a little more capable as a multi role fighter. But then the Tomcat was not very often used as a multi role fighter like the Hornet is.
  18. For those of you that might be interested, try using this to figure out when the moon should be up  http://www.timebie.com/moon/
  19. I have a moon rise and moon set calendar to tell me, for any given day of the year, anywhere in the world, when the moon will rise and set, what phase it is in as well. I share Viper's frustration and have posted in here about it in the past. ED is absolutely brilliant at simulating the sun rise and sun set but for some reason, can't seem to do the same for the moon. Pick any date where there should be a full moon around late afternoon and you will see the moon in the low horizon before the sun sets but as soon as the sun is well below the horizon, it gets pitch black for about an hour and then it's like someone flipped a switch and there the moon is, bright as can be! The same thing happens when the moon is supposed to set in the early morning. It will be visible and bright up to about an hour before the sun is scheduled to rise, then the light switch is flipped and it gets dark as can be until that beautiful sunrise! I'm pretty sure they can do better!
  20. Just out of curiosity, after destroying the entrance to the tunnel, did you ever notice a train pass through it? I used to blow the heck out of bridges until I saw the vehicles just continue right on along the line in mid-air that was once the bridge. :megalol:
  21. IF I had a vote, it would be for Heatblur to complete the A-6 Intruder as a full blown player flyable Module before taking on anything else, after which they could do Snoopy on his flying dog house and I'd buy it first day!! :pilotfly:
  22. I have no idea whether the sim has a bug relating to Bar Alt reporting but I can say that an incorrect altimeter setting could easily account for a 500+ foot difference.
  23. Try this: https://www.amazon.com/Black-Aces-High-Fighter-Squadron-ebook/dp/B003JMFAUQ/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=black+aces+high&qid=1562088821&s=books&sr=1-1 I found it to be a facinating book about the Tomcat operations in the Balkans. Very enlightening!
  24. C'mon funny feeling!!
  25. Are there any plans to build a WWII era carrier in the near future? Maybe a Pacific Theater Assets pack? I wouldn't expect something for nothing and would be happy to pay for a module like this. Maybe include an AMTRACK and an LSD. An Essex Class or maybe a CVE of some type. I don't know enough about the various IJN classes of carriers but would love to see one of them in the group as well. The USN carrier(s) would also be right at home off the coast of the Korean peninsula and would look just right with an F4U sitting on the deck - even if it was just a -1D.
