  1. Why not use VR while sitting in a cockpit? Muscle memory is a pretty incredible thing. Just don't build in every switch and toggle, only the ones you really need in order to reduce clutter and make it easier to find by feel what you're looking for. You can easily train VR muscle memory for a VR pit…for example: Master Arm switch is in the same general location of all jets (far left on vertical panel), close enough in any jets to have a VR pit positioned with a switch on the far left vertical and fool your brain into feeling immersed…plus a Master Arm switch always 1) has a locking toggle switch to have to pull out 2) has a unique head on the switch top. Same goes for Master Mode push buttons. Emergency jettison, same general place. The only big circle push button, so easy to feel out. Landing gear assembly is easy to “feel out” as well, it’s always on the left side, protrudes out, and your mind will easily learn where exactly to grab it with your hand coming off your throttle on the left side. Flaps switch is always in same general location and is the only switchtop that is flat headed A DDI/MFD is easy to feel out…5 buttons on each side, you know where it is (i.e. where to reach to) it will only take a second to find the right button (i.e touch 1, 2, 3, press down the left side of OSB’s, for example). A UFC would be the most challenging to ingrain muscle memory on, but I 100% believe it can be done with repetition through flying. I think the key is this: You build a VR pit with only switches, knobs, buttons, handles, etc for the functions you need to work while in flight. This minimizes clutter and makes it easy to blindly locate the things you need in flight (e.g. the items above plus others). Those items are, generally speaking, located in the same area of the cockpits of jets so you won’t need to be “looking at your cockpit inside the HMD to find the real life cockpit switch”, you just reach and hit the switch because your brain knows where it’s at. This is why real jets vary the switchtops on switches that are next to each other…you shouldn’t have to physically look at it to find it, you can do it from muscle memory. Things like Formation, Ant-Collision, etc externally lighting knobs don’t need to be included…you can tune those knobs with the mouse on the ground during startup and use the “Master External Lights” on the outboard part of the throttle to control those. You don’t need APU and Engine Start switches because you never use those in the air, only on the ground during start up. And so on, you probably get the point by now. Just my $0.02
  2. Haven't flown anything else on Blue Flag, Dynamic DCS or 104th servers since the Hornet came out...so pretty comfortable. Even moreso now that more and more goodies are being added to the arsenal.
  3. This.
  4. Showing up to Nvidia's offices like....
  5. It's Early Access, if you expect to see things released/added into the sim in a 100% refined manner, you opted in to the wrong program.
  6. Change “Cockpit View/Head Position” and hit “Save Cockpit Angles,” then use only one button to “Re-center VR view.” Much easier. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. How long do the INS systems in the FC3 aircraft take to align? How long are their start up processes in general? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. This is correct.
  10. If looking at bases only...the VPC MT-50 base handles the weight of the Warthog grip much better than the VKB Gunfighter Pro, as well.
  11. Wrong.
  12. Are these things green lit for extensions now? Thought VPC said that was a no-no?
  13. Because the design of the base (i.e. the gimbal) of the Warthog is awful  The grip is fine.
  14. I have narrowed it down to the fact that it ONLY crashes when flying on the Dynamic DCS MP server. If you direct to me how to supply the log(s) you'd need to see to look in to it I will supply them ASAP. Has anyone else ran in to this issue? Anyone on DDCS MP server that uses VAICOMPRO + VA with success?
  15. lol whoa....me either, holy hell :helpsmilie:
  16. Anyone ever have an issue where the first voice command they give Voice Attack bugs out and shuts down? When I reopen it, it gives a message that says “There was an improper shutdown...” Any ideas on how I can fix this? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Enjoy it, brother! It’s build like a damn tank, I’ll tell ya that much. Did you get the joystick adapter for the center post? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Fantastic news, thanks dude!
  19. Awesome, as always [emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. When I was putting together my build with Roberto he mentioned that he had improved the design of the throttle by making "Mechanical changes on the afterburner detent instead of having to pull on the engine cutoff handles. (correction of the f18 pilot)", so it looks like that design change has been implemented thanks to you. Regarding the rest of the items (sans the switches, since I have provided my own to Roberto) I will follow up with him to make sure your recommendations/revisions are included in my build. Appreciate you taking the time to make such a detailed posted  Also, FWIW buying the real Otto SL (slider) series switches for things like the speedbrake and ECM dispense have a price of >$250 for each switch...not sure what your budget is, but there are other Otto mil-spec switches that don't look exactly the same but should do the trick that can be had for $50-100 instead. The Comms switch (5-way) was the most expensive I had to purchase, and that was ~$160...all others were $60 or less. The Otto P1 push buttons can be found for <$20, usually.
  21. Remind me, which cams come stock again? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Looks incredible, Lynx. I look forward to following along with your progress on this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. My order status changed to "Sent" yesterday, so I am assuming this means my T50 base is en route to me here in the States. What you've mentioned above are my two biggest worries: That I will receive rough cams and need to request replacements That I will want to try the other cams and I will need to risk screwing the entire base up due to the low quality screws used I am hoping that I will be able to avoid any issues, and I hope that my unit was built using the new locking spray. I will keep an eye on this thread for anyone to be able to suggest what a suitable replacement screw would be for the stock ones so that I can ensure no issues in the future.
  24. Sounds awesome, thanks dude! I have really been enjoying the server when I only have a bit of free time to fly and want some quick action.
