    Start up sound

Can we please have proper start up sounds like in real life? Current sounds seem good the first few seconds after you push the startup button but then the volume drops abruptly and things don't follow up nicely.
  2. Here you go
  3. Terrific work! I'm amazed by how detailed and thorough this document is. Threat knowledge is critical when flying in a combat environment. I can't thank you guys enough for releasing it to the public!
  4. You can still try but from what I know it's not gonna work as, starting with the Mirage, steam keys are now steam only and cannot be activated on the DCS store. I've heard ED plans on doing something about this and create a system where all keys would work, independtly of when and where you purchased them.
  5. A good way to do it is to observe how your canopy frame is visually aligned with the tanker and try to keep the alignment. Here is what it should look like (although you don't need to have your view zoomed in that much):
  6. You don't need curves on your joystick. It's all about having the right visual references (and practice of course). Best advice I can give you: after contact has been made focus on keeping your position relative to the tanker and forget the boom.
  7. Axelerator Lone Wolf France Blue Side: Mirage 2000
  8. Admin please give us DDM sensors on the Mirage. It is already disatvantaged by the very low number of missiles it can carry...
  9. It went on sale about 3 years ago not 4 or 5... still a long time though.
  10. The EAC (Enhanced Attitude Control) cannot align itself. You're mixing it up with the INS system. Quoting the manual: "EAC uses sensor data from the Embedded GPS INS (EGI) navigation system, the Central Air Data Computer (CADC) and the SAS, and then provides input into elevator and yaw as part of the SAS." It provides two major functions: the PAC (keeps aircraft steady when you fire the gun) and the autopilot. To get the EAC working you must first wait for INS alignment and then select the NAV option on the CDU and finally push the EGI button below the HSI.
  11. In case you have any more questions, please feel free to post in this section. I think it should be the correct one.
  12. I remember when Ubisoft put Far Cry 4 on pre-order at full price and something like 8 month away from release. Now talk about a lack of respect... Yes but Hornet full price is $80 bucks not $60...
  13. Something like $59. Not sure though.
  14. True but a little note in the briefing telling us not to trust the JTAC who might give deadly directions would have been nice to see. Please put yourself in the shoes of a player who purchased the mission and who doesn't know what the intents of the developers are. For example when you have to release illumination flares (advanced training campaign), instead of stuffing the briefing with entire paragraphs of Air Force evaluation criteria, I would have liked to see something about the fact we need to press the pickle button over one second for the drop to register and be able to actually pass the mission. All we need is just information to better allow the player to succeed. Other than that, your missions are absolutely brilliant.
  15. That's what I thought but at the same time I'm afraid some issues will remain and might be carried over.
  16. You need to use the gun instead of firing a Maverick. How are we supposed to know that, you might ask? Well we aren't... This is what drives me nuts with these missions. On some aspects they are extremely well designed but on others they're just straight up unacceptable.
  17. On the current build 1.5.8.12823.414, the game crashes when M257 rockets deploy and turn into an illumination flare. On the other hand if the rocket just hits the ground without deploying a flare then no crash happens.
  18. Everybody in this thread assumed it was an IR SAM. Is there any proof of that or am I missing something?
  19. You mean the halo coming up at 0:20? At first I thought the afterburner was on from the start of the video but hey you might be right!
  20. It's possible but then the first missile hit must have occured before the start of the video. The footage appears smooth and unedited. I'd be suprised if current F-15s don't have missile launch sensors like they have in the A-10C. In theory they can. It depends on the angle of the shot, the way the missile detonated and the strength of the impacted aircraft's structure. Missiles usually come equipped with both a hit and a proximity fuse.
  21. One thing I find very odd though is: why is there a fireball before the missile hits? The fact that we see it appear progressively and not abruptly suggests that this part of the footage was unedited. Yet we see only one missile hitting the plane, not two.
  22. Flying in a straight line certainly didn't help either.

    RAZBAM - Cold&Dark

Ground crews usually make sure their aircrafts are in a ready state before handing them to pilots. So there's nothing surprising about the current "cold & dark" switches setup.
  24. Dude, he's giving away three missions for the sake of giving us a demo, two of which are just orientation flight type stuff. It's less than a third of the whole campaign. How is this wrong?
