    Game Flight Mode

You could say that of all the polls ever created on this forum... And it's not because it doesn't represent the whole world perfectly that it has no value. A poll is better than no poll.
  2. My guess is that you will keep your 1.5 logbook but lose the one from 2.1 in the process. I too would like to hear a few official words on the subject though.

    Very true.

    Game Flight Mode

After chatting with a couple of friends who recently tried DCS World I found the "Game Flight Mode" and "Game Avionics Mode" to be useless and actually counter productive. Here is why. These two options are designed to help beginners but because they are off by default and beginners don't even know they exist and what they are for, they end up never being used. All they end up doing is just clutter the already complex options menu and most notably the controls menu by having two entries for each aircraft (ex: Ka-50 easy and Ka-50 real). All these duplicates make the controls menu somewhat daunting for someone who is new to the sim. My feeling is that "Game Flight Mode" and "Game Avionics Mode" should be removed as they just discourage beginners more than anything, clutter the menu and aren't used anyway.
  5. Even in aviation, a few rare things are left to the pilot's discretion. Take the speedbrake on the F-15 for instance. There is nothing telling pilots to land with it deployed or not. So they just end up doing what suits them best.
  6. Glad it has been corrected :)
  7. ED should have a look at this mod and make it standard in DCS.
  8. Absolutely gorgeous. Can't wait for 2.5! :)
  9. Same goes for the F-5. If I can recall correctly it has dim red anti-collision lights like the F-15.
  10. I'm with you. ED has done an amazing job so far. I sure hope they will continue on this path. He didn't say they're his buddies... :music_whistling:
  11. As far as I know, it doesn't. You mean QNH rather?
  12. Looks like even the Russians are getting rid of QFE.
  13. The US Air Force does not use QFE altimeter settings. They only use QNH. Therefore you don't need to zero the altimeter.
  14. Take the Rift. No hesitation about it.
  15. +1
  16. Just stumbled on this thread. 5 & 1/2 years later is there anyway I can setup toggles in the UI without having to do it manually like the OP explained? Thanks!

    Refueling Time

With the Mirage we're talking about the drogue system. The boom is out of the equation.
  18. Awesome, glad to see they're working on it!
  19. What kind of restaurant serves those meals...?
  20. At least make it usable as a pop up window, a bit like the kneeboard, please.
  21. The APU is designed to operate below 15k ft and engine APU restart should be performed below 10k ft. Turn on the APU and APU generator --> engine operate switch to motor --> make sure itt is below 150°C then push throttle to idle --> engine operate switch to normal --> engine restarts itself.
  22. They are currently busy with the Hornet so we shouldn't expect anything about the Mi-24 until the Hornet has been released.
  23. That's correct. I just thought it might help the OP but it's definitely not the proper procedure.
  24. Make sure you have your forward (labeled L) and aft (labeled R) tanks balanced.
  25. After taking a little break from the campaign, I decided to refly the mission today and finally passed it with a Q rating. You were right Sabre, the problem was coming from the very long press needed for the flare drop to register. I pressed the pickle button about twice as long as I did last time and made sure I heard "target in sight" on every pass.
