All DME and TACAN displays i have seen have been limited to 0.1NM (185m) resolution, so using it for any distances closer than that is a bit impractical. IIRC, this corresponds with the range accuracy requirements in annex 10, but systems typically perform better than this (0.03NM / ~60m was mentioned in a R&S application note).

No, the company is registered in Switzerland (most likely for tax and other business reasons). This is not the same as the headquarters being there. The address in the company register is a residential address in Lausanne (most likely related to the owner of TFC). TL;DR: all the Russian ED staff living and working in Russia are still Russian. The "Société anonyme" after the company name does not change this.
-
And how is that relevant? Working for a company registred in another country does not mean that you don't have to follow local laws. The topic of modern Russian aircraft in DCS boils down to politics. Don't expect it to be reasonable or logical.

Syrian and Afghan theatre of operations confirmed!
drPhibes replied to WHOGX5's topic in Bugs and Problems
Syria has been mentioned on the TBS site for several years, so the DCS version may be a commercial spin-off from a professional map developed for TBS. If this is the case then that may dictate which areas are included in the map. -

Given the details mentioned on the Ugra Media site (Adana in the North-West, Haifa in the South-West, and 610x440km), something approximately like this could be expected: -
There's something around the 32 minute mark.

Nice! I started on a similar project some time ago, but I never got around to finishing it (that reminds me that I really need to update my PG mod with a few new beacons). I was planning on adding all the missing navaids for the Russian airbases (many of which have regular ILS in addition to PRMG/RSBM), but I never got any further than gathering the required nav charts form the Russian AIP. Too little time and too many hobbies, I guess... Anyway, keep up the good work!

Because ED decided to sacrifice absolute accuracy over increased practicality for players. It's the same in the two other TPOD-equipped aircraft, and IMHO it makes a lot of sense.

The frequencies assigned to NDB are between 190kHz and 1750 kHz. This is specified in ICAO annex 10, which is the international standard for aeronautical radio navigation aids. Apparently, when the F-18 was designed the ability to tune the nav receiver to civilian NDB frequencies was not a priority. Instead, you'll have to use VHF transmitters (VORs, terrestrial broadcast radio etc.) for your ADF.
-
You can't. Different frequency band (~15GHz, vs. 110/332MHz (center frequency) for ILS LOC/GP), different modulation, and 100% incompatible. I made a mod that places ICLS beacons at the airports in the PG map, but I haven't had the time to keep it up to date. It might still work: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=217594

Are you sure it's not installed? It comes with the base install of DCS World, so if you installed DCS you should already have it.

An imperial mile is 1609 meters. A nautical mile is 1852m. In aviation we use feet, nautical miles and knots (NM/hour). Imperial miles are largely irrelevant (in aviation).

Have you tried the "WP Increment" function in the control assignments?

Why do we need another Tornado wishlist thread? There are already quite a few of them (hint: on the top menu, 3rd from the right, there is a search function...) https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=219312 https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=204275 https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=206668 https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=155185 https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=185456 https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=173611 https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=173611

I don't think you realize how much extra data traffic this would create. One skin for the Mig-21 can be over 500MB. If a server has to upload this to multiple users, the loading times would be astronomical.

Parts of the cancelled SLAMRAAM project live on in the high mobility launcher part of the NASAMS-II system. So at least there are surface launched AMRAAMS, just not in a US-built system. And I'm nitpicking, but isn't using both "surface launcted" and "air ro air" in the same acronym a bit weird? A surface-to-air-to-air missile. Maybe Gates was forced to can the project by the Department of Linguistics :P

If only there was a way of finding documents containing certain words, for instance "natops" and "f-14", on the internet...
-
You can't. You need a TACAN beacon for the bearing, and fighters like the F18 don't have TACAN beacons. A/A yardstick is range only.

This could be language issue (judging by your frequent use of google translate...), but I don't think you really understand what the term "real" actually means.
