Dude what the fork... where is the second half? I think ED sold me a lemon. I need to know if I might the right decision here. ;)

Magz has another video on the F14.

Just to pipe in... its happening to me and a friend of mine when we are in VR... Water set to high and always when over the water, if I fly inland it reduces by a huge amount in the caucuses map. Can flicker in both eyes... seems to favor the right eye. This happen with the 2.5.4 update. I just assumed ED was aware of it, and was waiting it out... and knew people were complaining so saw no need to make a statement. ETA... ahhh. there working on it. :)

Cool... was hoping for a video like this. Didn't see anyone else post so:

3... okay... 1.5 or so. If I keep flying multiple birds, I'm pretty okay, just takes a few moments to get muscle memory going... if I leave it be for a bit... well, lots of refresher involved.

My description probably was not good enough... we're not talking about eliminating the aircraft from shaking giving you visual clues, but eliminating the horizon from shaking. Because in the real world your eyeballs and head dampen the effect and in VR it is unpleasant. If you look at the videos, it appears the hud image itself isn't shaking and as you get further away from the centerpoint of the horizon and hud the shake increases. It seems Heatblur might be attempting to do what is worrying me. I'm curious if they are. NOTE: This is only a VR thing... for monitors the effect is perfect.

So curious... anybody that uses VR in DCS will notice that whenever you go through turbulence at low level or if you fly helos it can be a little uncomfortable up to exhausting after awhile to have the horizon jerk and shake with airframe movement. Just watching the videos I'm getting a little concerned the horizon shake (camera shake) is going to make the F14 experience queasy after a bit in VR. In some games they have what they call horizon lock, so that the world moves but the horizon stays locked because our eyes naturally dampen movement of our bodies and so does our head to a large degree as we get jostled about in the world. Ive been actually thinking ED needs to come up with some kind of sudo horizon lock for Helo's and possibly normal AC when in VR to keep the herky jerkies from forming in our heads. Curious if Heatblur has tested this? Or experienced issues with camera shake in VR?

aileron replied to NineLine's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
I believe you're referring to this video. I'm not going to bother to look through it to find out when he said it. ETA: The comment is at 1:03:39. I would like to stress this is not the only time this has been said by someone at ED. Here is the thread this whole thing comes from... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=190813 Note synopsis at Post 13 https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3197888&postcount=13 -

Oh man! Yes!!!! YEEEESSSS!!!! And yea... now I want to know when was the first F18 blip shown. I do remember some videos had shown an F18 and F16 flying by when showcasing new DCS Videos in the opening credits. I even think that was true for last years thank you vid. I think it might of been an Wags special of "Whats that F18 doing there?" blurb during an F-5 video though. But I don't know if that should count. -
*sigh* https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3725487&postcount=37 I stand corrected video coming out... :) https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3725646&postcount=2065

Newest F/A-18 lot 20 Wags video (not in the wrong forum..)
aileron replied to ChuckJäger's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Wags is just giggling to himself. I can feel it. -
So no sound of impact and F2 view means your avatar (pilot) died from the impact/explosion of the supersonic missile. Otherwise you'd of been able to jump in your seat from the impact noise/motion and then twiddle the stick, realize its hopeless, and elect to eject like you're use to. :D

Don't know why its not here yet. But I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.

That Strike Fighters 2 looked impressive. Wow. Bummer I didn't know about it.

If you go to the Ka50 forum area... tons of people are very upset about no fixes for the Ka50. So while you lament not getting your hind quickly. There are far more that are upset that the Ka50 cockpit hasn't been fixed as of yet. This sim is in a constant state of flux.. patience is a virtue here. Especially when you consider that flux is always in a progressive/improving flux. I still cry into my Wheaties every morning that the F4 is on hold. But I'm not complaining about it.

I flew it today in VR, beautiful cockpit. This is my all time favorite aircraft so lots of fun to fart around with. Can't believe the roll rate. I finally know what its like to sit in an A-4. :D Once again; Congrats guys! Excellent job!!! -
