Improved Terrain deformation and Model destruction
aileron replied to Bad_Karma-701's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Yes, it would make for some interesting immersion in a dynamic campaign to see just how much something was hit before you showed up to do it yet again. Especially if you're doing a Vietnam style campaign. Of course if we were doing Vietnam as a dynamic campaign we could invade Laos and hold the line at Savannakhet and win the war. If that would be an option... but i'm getting side tracked. -
From the Reddit thread above; I think this say's it all: Brendan Iribe: "The Rift 2 prototype I have been working on and excited about being released in the near future has been canceled." Nate Mitchell/Facebook: "We still have R&D on PC and will probably release something down the road"

Having kicked a few airplane tires in my life... that tire is impressive. A little cleaner than anything I ran into but daaaaammmnnn!!! Ready Player One's book might come true one the these days. As in being inside the Oasis looks better than real life.

The damage modeling is impressive... will be really interesting to see someone get hit say in the tail and then you hear them complain about aircraft acting funny and they know they got hit, and then you look at them and say, yup.... you got a big hole in the empennage. :)

Everyone is talking about the missing antenna and all I can think about is how did they get all those cars up there, and why???

Video: Naval Aviation - Carrier Ops, Combat, & Ejection

Dude: 31:02... holy smokes!!! Also cool to know 250 Kts, 30,000 feet best glide profile. -
Was there ever any mention that they would go to a western Altimeter, ASI, VSI when you switch to an English Cockpit? Teaching someone to fly in meters and then switching to a jet in feet is going to be a mind altering experience for a newbie.

Me thinks the surprise has to do with the F-16 since he didn't mention it when talking about new modules. ;)
-
I stand corrected. I didn't think you could join a flight in progress. Cool.
-
I think this is a feature of the Sim and not something that any third party developer has control over. If the sim ever gets a dynamic campaign that will probably be the moment ED thinks about implementing a "JOIN IN FLIGHT" feature.

Boeing T-X advanced (Next-Gen) Trainer wins USAF Contarct

If you figure in some way the F5's progeny is the F18... to me it looks like an F18 and F16 mated, had a baby and it has grandpa's nose. -
Its looking beautiful. Its so worth waiting for the day when you guys feel its ready.
-
I didn't buy this module because It was never clear if they were or were not going to charge for additional module integration. Ambiguity was there from the outset. I'm glad I waited and will stay away from this one.

I had similar thoughts... have everything else this is the one I'd be interested in getting.

No but I'm willing to bet the reason we have cows now was because it was easy and quick to make at high quality. And they added to atmosphere and it was on the schedule to be done at some point.

Yea, I thought it might slave to the waypoints plus TACAN, but TACAN is normal for CSEL which a lot of autopilots can use/follow. When I look it up in the F18 manual. I don't see any slaving. :(
-
I think you mean you wish to follow the waypoint paths, which should be the Course Select; CSEL. I personally haven't been able to get that to enable. I bet at this time its not enabled yet. HSEL, is just that, set your heading with the HDG Switch below the UFC on the LEFT side. You should see your Heading Bug move on the HSI. If you want to follow your waypoint just set it to the same course as your waypoint. You'll have to tweak it in flight to follow the course line perfectly unless you time your turns perfectly. ETA: ahh... people beat me to it, I couldn't find a good pic. :p

Uninstall Harrier - No Longer Appear in Module Manager
aileron replied to Thisdale's topic in Resolved Bugs
Skatezilla put out an awesome thread on how to use the updater command line utility to update, switch, repair DCS plus install modules from the command line. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030 Enjoy. Your answer lies in there because you might need to do a repair install then force install the module from the command line. -

https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/products/campaigns/the_museum_relic_campaign/ Its a good campaign to try out.

Me personally... I can't wait to try it. Outside of the fact that (if I remember correctly) they were trying to figure out oddities with piston driven engine/aircraft/prop physics and used it as a test bed. It will be the first aerobatic aircraft that probably handles closer to the real thing than any before it in any other sim. That right there is a darn good reason to do it. Then of course you include the fact that aerobatics are popular in MP servers. And well.. win/win/win.
