  1. Are you on open Beta version, Super carrier wont work on stable version yet
  2. The Curly Shuffle.....
  3. Glad to be of any help. the mission editor is a little frustrating at first, but it really is not that hard once you get used to it. if you have any other questions, feel free to ask, someone will help you.
  4. I found this while surfing the net this morning, Jerry Reeds f-16 ride, we can use a good laugh
  5. Hi and Welcome! This same thing got me at first too. when you click on the aircraft icon and the aircraft properties page appears, pick the plane you want to fly, then click on the skill level field. pick "player" for single player missions, or "client" to build multiplayer missions, or to add several different planes to the same single player mission. the other, i.e. average, high, poor, etc. are for the AI wingmen or flights. hope this helps, let us know how you are making out
  6. For us Jug fans, here is a little something to tide us through this wait. an airshow cold start, run-up and a few special surprises. you may have seen it but it is still really cool.
  7. Thanks for the update, the cat is one of my favorite aircraft, in real life and in the sim.
  8. I haven't had a lot of flight time lately, and fired up the shark, and WOW, the new update is awesome ED ,thanks as far as the cold start, that's strange, it worked for me, then again, I don't have vr
  9. wow this is welcome, Imagine Mossie pathfinders at night with flares lighting the target for the bombers, with search lights, flak and night fighters.... I shudder to think... that would make me go VR for sure...:)
  10. Hi Reflected and All, I just finished the campaign and it was a blast. I cant remember which mission it was at the moment, but I got hit in a dog fight and had to fly all the way back to England with a sick engine and 1 elevator and 1 aileron, and was loosing power and alt and barely made it back, thanks again, here are a few screens ( by the way, good job with the AI units)
  11. Welcome!
  12. Hi, Usually the "Your flight is delayed" message is due to another flight on the runway you are trying to spawn in on. make sure the starting position is set for ramp cold start, and the skill to "player" or "client". hope this helps, a track would help
  13. the torpedoes on the JU-88 are noteworthy also, as well as the searchlights and V-1 :)
  14. Wow, A Pacific Theater map and forum section... so many possibilities...so anticipated, and still a surprise. Oscars, Nates, Tonys, Hamps, Franks, and Jakes, Nells, Bettys,... Dinah was a fast one too... and that's just the Army side. ..I could imagine Super carrier Akagi... with a load of Zekes and Judys and Vals...that would be cool. or Essex, or Yorktown, or lady Lex, F4F, SBD, TBF,F6F... And the F4U . And it is the Pacific, we have to have an Amfib.. A PB2Y Catalina, or Kingfisher, or a Zeke float plane would be awesome... Imagine landing a bi-plane float plane in the open ocean, next to a ship....or patrol for the enemy fleet. I may be just Pipe dreaming... but one can dream
  15. Hi! welcome to the asylum!
  16. yes multi crew for the helicopters will be a huge improvement.
  17. Awesome news! wow the A-10 upgrade is a huge surprise. the new map is a perfect choice, it will work for modern as well as for WW2.
  18. until you have rudder authority, that's all you can do(as far as the 109 goes), and make sure you are pointed down the runway straight in the first place. for the P-51, the center of gravity is much forward compared to the 109, so the ground handling characteristics are totally different. plus the tail wheel is locked in the neutral stick position in the P-51, in the fw-190 you must have the stick well aft of neutral to lock the tail wheel, this confuses a lot of people. then there is the spit... the tail wheel does not lock, and it gets rudder authority almost instantly...
  19. man, your killing me, you gotta get us some pics!
  20. Hi, A .trk file would help, but I am going to presume you are doing a cold start. with the A-10, if you don't set a load out at mission start, or change the load out, before you load the DTS, the plane wont recognize the weapons, and they will be red. so go to the INV or inventory page and tell the airplane what weapon are on which pylon. then it should work.
  21. thank you I am glad it helped. it is really due to working the powertrain in the opposite direction of witch it is designed., and as the Jumo goes, If I remember correct, it had roller bearings on the crank and rods, so bearing thrust was even more critical

  23. soon, patience grasshopper.... I know, I can't wait too,
  24. Hi all, yes this is true. Mass, Inertia, and Centrifugal Force are balanced in the engine/propeller assembly, when cruising, however the propeller is constantly trying to move forward faster than the aircraft is. in other words the propeller is constantly trying to rip itself from the engine, due to the forward thrust of the propeller. The engine is built to withstand this forward motion, through thrust bearings, and the thrust in the gear train is actually designed too pull rearwards on the prop and crankshaft to help compensate.(this is important). so we wing over in a dive. the problems occur when the propeller starts to drive the engine, instead of the engine driving the propeller. in example, diving at less than full pitch on the prop or suddenly pulling back on the power in a dive... the prop just wants to separate from the engine,((reduction gear)) plus the gear train is loaded in the opposite direction, because the prop is driving the engine, instead of the engine driving the prop , as designed. the Anton had similar issues with breaking the supercharger impeller shaft, but it was a gear train backlash issue at low (under 1000) RPM, due to the rough running of the radial engine causing chatter in the gear train, and the impeller shaft was the weak link in the chain. Yo-Yo is right when he said there may be some hurt feelings when the P-47 drops, just in engine management wise, as the 2800 goes, (and all radials)... if it had a weak link, the main bearings were it. man I want my Jug.
  25. Hi, I would think it is a matter of necessity, just because the capability is there, does not mean it would be a common thing. say the chips are down and there is a crate of missiles here... can my helicopter carry and fire them?... well yes.... if you use a certain launch envelope say above 50 kph and 7 mps vertical. you would need to be crazy or have a death wish, or be about to die anyway, but it is possible...
